Have just returned from a very pleasant stay at Baltpark Hotel. Being on a tight budget and in much need of a rest we were apprehensive about the low cost of this hotel, but on arrival, were more than pleasantly surprised. We booked a double (standard room/smoking) with breakfast. The room was very spacious with a balcony, a bathroom with bath and shower. The whole hotel was very clean and housekeeping very efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate, a large selection of cereals/meats/cheeses/fruit/breads/biscuits etc etc. We had dinner a few nights at the rooftop restaurant. The quality of the food was good, and the service excellent. The ice cream (made in the hotel) was amazing. The only negative is the distance from Old Riga, but the public transport system is very good, and it doesn't take long by trolleybus, and only costs .50lt., and you get to see more of Riga than just the touristy bits.
