Hotel at Madison Park - Niujorkas

If you like living out of your suitcase, then this is the hotel for you. There was a double bed and a side table and that was it! No wardrobe, no hooks of any description to hang your clothes up on or in. There was only 1 hairdryer for the whole of the building - myself and a German lady shared it one night, she had it after I had finished with it, unbelievable! The bathroom also had nowhere to place anything and consisted of sink, toilet and shower. There was hot water however, which did surprise me. You also had to lift the door slightly away from its hinges to actually get it to shut! We took pictures as we know our friends will not actually believe us when we say how bad it was. We have seen better in Countries far poorer where you would expect this type of accommodation.

Older hotel that is very convenient to lower midtown manhattan at a very affordable rate. Not the most luxurious accomodations, but clean, and affordable.

The stay at the Madison was a pleasant one,we arrived at the hotel early and they gave a room immmediately. The only thing that needs to be improved is the HEAT in the room. It needs to be turned down a bit.

This hotel should not really operate in one of the most beautiful busy city in the world; i had no idea that i was going to be like this. Okay, i understand i was looking for something not too expensive but this hotel is not clean needs lotssssssssssss of work in every corner. Bed, pillow and cover sheets were all dirty and smelly. The only good thing about this hotel was the friendliness of the people.

I stayed at this hotel last week for business. I have stayed at many hotels in New York City over the last few years and I must rank this hotel #1 in value. The hotel is located a block away from Madison Square Park and is literally close to anywhere you need to go. its a 5 minute cab ride to go downtown and a 5 minute cab ride to go uptown. Great location if you are planning to travel around the city. The man at the front desk was really helpful in directing me to a great restaurant a block away on Park Avenue. The staff was polite at check-in and check-out. The room seemed like it was recently renovated and looked good for New York City standards. I definitely enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay here from now on when coming to New York. With the the current financial situation being the way it is, I for one take every opportunity to capitalize on a good deal when I see one. The Madison at the Park was pound for pound the best value I got out of a hotel in New York City in the 10 years I have been traveling there. Definitely recommended.

Need a cheep place to stay? Thats what I was looking for. Overall I could care less about the t.v. or the lack of alarm clock because I was in NYC! The use of keys was a bit wierd, and the fact that you have to leave it at the front desk with one of the 5 or 6 random people working the "lobby" when you go out was a bit odd too. But I needed bed to sleep in and a place to shower and the Madison has that, and thats about it. I spent most of my time walking around the city and the location of this hotel was great! If youre a camper youll love it. If youre looking for more than just a place to crash forget it. If I come back Ill stay there again.

Staff was friendly at check in. The room was clean, equipped with clean sheets and towels, and very comfortable pillows. They do not provide toiletries except small bar soaps, so bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom was fairly clean, but had a lot of cracked caulk with mildew stains. For the money and location, the room was a great deal. Also, subway stops are nearby.

Hotel is great for what you pay for. What made this hotel so great is the service at the front desk. Very professional and courteous. They will also hold your bags for a day after you check out so you can continue exploring NY.

Overpriced. Needs to invest in a new bedspread No smoking rooms with burnholes in spread.

We checked out after one night. We found a great hotel in the same location for the same price.

This was the cheapest hotel we could find in midtown, so I guess you get what you pay for. The tub was filthy. We didnt shower the entire weekend because it looked so disgusting. There were iron burns on the rug, stains on the comforters, and the elevator only worked half the time. There was not remote for the TV, no alarm clock, not even a box of tissues. This hotel is extremely old and rundown. However, if you're going to be out and about most of the day and night, and just need a cheap place to sleep, the price is right. Also, the nearest garage parking is about 2 blocks away.

As the least expensive hotel option available, I was content with the Madison. I would not bring my wife here. The bathroom was dingy but clean. There was literally not a single coat hook in the room. They are slowly making improvements, adding TVs (hanging but not functioning yet), painting, etc. The bed was comfortable enough, and of course the staff was friendly... how about a hanger rod? (I used the shower curtain rod for my suit) I would return if the rate continues to undercut the competition.

The bathroom was dirty with replaced tiles of mismatched color, filthy grout and unsanitized plastic cups.The air conditioning unit was a 30 year old window unit.The TV remote didn't work at all. Although the hotel was inexpensive in NY terms,it was not a pleasant stay. Next time I will spend the extra money.

The price is reasonable but the absence of a writing desk for a "so called" executive room is very disappointing. The television set is very old and does not display any steady picture. There is no ice bucket in the room and ironing board is provided only upon request. I have rented rooms at other hotels in the same vicinity with comparable price and much better service.

Hotel is under construction; they are remodeling from the top to bottom. The new rooms’ looks great, they even smell like new (the fist night we stayed in a NEW room); even though on the second night at the hotel, we made a change, because a/c was not installed in the new room. The only room available was on the lower floors and there is a Big difference from the new rooms. However, it has a Great location, walking distance from Empire State Building; will stay there again, if we go back to NY.

For a total of $297 I expected a better room, newer furniture, a TV that worked and a clean bathroom

The hotel is so poorly maintained that it was insulting. When I told the manager how I felt, he said he does agree with what I said and that the hotel is not at the level in which it should be. I'm never going there again.

If you are looking for no bells and whistles and do not care about the elegance of a place, than this is your place. No amenities or breakfast, but in a good location to walk to Madison Square Garden, Flatiron, Grand Central, and Times Square.

nous avons été accueilli par une personne complétement incohérent (drogue, alcool, médicaments?) qui n'arrivait pas à trouver les chambres qui nous étaient destinées (je rappelle que les réservations concernaient 7 personnes du ministère participant au congrès ITS) et qui était plus préoccupé à proposer des massages! Une fois muni d'une clef (1heure après notre arrivée!) nous entrons dans des chambres sordides (petites et salles) après avoir traversé des couloirs salles et sombres et rencontré des chambres dont la port restait ouverte et occupé par des personnes parlant fort. Le lundi je réussissais à changer de chambre pour une chambre donnant sur la rue car la première ouvrait sur un mur à 70cm; le personnel d'accueil s'était amélioré en qualité mais le personnel chargé du ménage restait toujours aussi négligent sur la poussière et la propreté des salles d'eau tandis que nous avons pu nous procurer nous-mêmes quelques cintres pour pendre nos costumes. Bref l'hôtel-borgne par excellence !

Bien placé pour visiter. L acceuil est cordial .Les chambres sont propres.Pas de bruit ,nous avons eu chaud.les douches sont chaudes .ILsnous ont gardes les bagages le jour de notre depart jusqu a 17heures sans suplement c est sympa

Accueil nocturne ubuesque. les chambres de la série x07 ont des fenetres qui donnent sur un mur et donc sans jour.

Un peu bruyant (fenêtres sur la rue) et dommage qu'il n'y ai pas le WiFi...

Mycket enkelt hotel som dock var rent och ligger mycket bra till på Manhattan. Ganska lyhört mellan rummen och utan frukost, men är man inte på rummet så mycket under sin weekend är det en billigt alternativ.

Lite dobbelt rom. Dobbel sengen er ikke mer enn 140cm. Badet/dusj nedslitt.

Hotellets läge på Manhattan är bra på många sätt. Lätt att ta sig dit med allmänna kommunikationer, buss och tunnelbana från flygplatserna. Gångavstånd till shopping och teaterdistriktet. Standarden är mycket låg ,sunkigt och mycket slitet om man inte får ett renoverat rum. Fick byta pga att det var så inrökt. Vi sov där men vistades övriga timmar på dygnet utanför hotellet.

Sødt,hjælpsomt og imødekommende personale,men en fuldstændig hysterisk pris for et minimalistisk rum,helt uden dagslys,intet skab,ingen skuffer,måtte bo i kuffert,nogenlunde rent,men generelt lousy og slidt.Det er tydeligvis den centrale beliggenhed der betales for Upper west side giver nok mere value for money

Vi leide to rom, det ene var OK, det andre var i en del av hotellet som etter sigende var nyrestaurert. Restaureringen var neppe ferdig. Rommet inneholdt en dobbelseng, et nattbord med lampe, telefon og TV. Ingen stoler, ingen mulighet til å henge opp klær, ikke kjøleskap og ikke gardiner, men et rullegardin som falt ned når man prøvde å heve eller senke det. Anmodning om å bytte rom til et tilsvarende rom som var ledig ble ikke imøtekommet.

Das Hotel ließ an Sauberkeit sehr zu wünschen übrig, Die Bettwäsche wirkte ungewaschen, in den weißen Handtüchern waren schwarze Haare, Der Teppichboden müsste erneuert werden

Schmutzig, verschimmeltes Badzimmer, kaputtes TV, kein Fön, kein Schreibtisch, überfordertes Personal, kaputtes Telefon auf dem Zimmer, etc.
