Hotel Iris - Venice

the room was very very small, and although internet was offered on the site, there never was any internet, which i needed to look up places i had earmarked, and contact with family via net. people were friendly but should have had internet

Rooms good and clean, location not too far from the center and other sights, breakfast ok but not better then ok, service friendly.

Hotel Iris is a traditional Italian, family-run hotel. Charming little place. A 10-minute walk from the train station or 20-min walk from San Marco. Very clean, good bathroom. Young Giacomo at the desk is very friendly and eager to speak English. If you don't want to go too far for dinner they have a restaurant right downstairs and Luca will take care of you. For the price I paid I was very happy with the place. And no there's no elevators so you have to drag your luggage up yourselves. But, anyone who goes to Venice will have to drag their stuff through the streets and over all those little bridges anyways, so what's another few stairs? Highly recommended.

Clean room (clean bed and clean bathroom). About a 10 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and located in a quite part of town on a pretty canal. This was a convenient place to stay, especially for the price paid.

If you want a bit of original Venetian atmosphere this hotel is fine. Staff behave naturally and are not over friendly, real characters! Clean and comfortable stay.

The hotel is very conveniently located, only a minute or so walk from the San Toma’ Vaporetto stop. It’s also a pleasant 10 minute walk to the station, or about 15-20 minutes to St Marks Square, if you don’t want to take the boat. The hotel is quite small, and doesn’t have a lift and quite steep stairs, which made it a bit of a struggle for people with lots of luggage (I only had one small bag, so no real problem) The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are typically Italian (a coffee and a croissant), so don’t expect to be able to fill up in the morning. The restaurant attached to the hotel is very pleasant, and for Venice quite reasonable.

I stayed for one night September of 08. This hotel is just fine. It is definately not fancy but it was clean it had air conditioning and we had our own bathroom. There were no bugs and it was way easier than staying in Maestre and taking a bus. If I was paying $500 a night I wouldn't have been happy, but I didn't and it was just fine and front desk people were nice. It definately served it's purpose. You don't go to Venice for the hotels, you go for the city!!

Although we had a bit of trouble finding the hotel, it was absolutely delightful once we got there. Be sure you don't go to San Pedro Square looking for the hotel. It's much closer to the vaporetto stop - very convenient once you figure it out! The desk attendant was cheerful and friendly, the room was ample, and the bathroom was great (nice kitty shower curtain). We especially liked the neighborhood and had a delightful evening walk with a stop at a nearby gelatto shop. There was some water damage on the ceiling, but only cosmetic. Would definitely stay here again. My only suggestion is that there could be a bit more variety in the breakfast, but it was sufficient.

The worst hotels ever stayed at. There was bugs in the hotel room. My son got bit by ants. 0 star room

Great hotel in terms of location and service. The rooms were clean and a good size but if we were to stay again would definitely choose a room with air conditioning. WHen asked if we could have a fan for our furnace of a bedroom we were declined one. This made our three nights sleep unbearable and we lacked a nice place to get away from the sweltering heat during the day - sat in the lobby with the sleeping chef and the dog instead! With an air conditioned room however this hotel would have been perfect for us considering it's low-budget price.

This hotel is in a great location. Took a while to find it, however, we had walked right past. The hotel was all we needed for a night's stay, reasonably priced. Would stay again.

Très bonne prestation d'ensemble, chambre agréable, hotel au calme, petit déjeûner correct, personnel sympathique, mais acces à Internet impossible, probablement à cause de leur configuration de box, dommage. Se méfier du restaurant qui affiche à l'extérieur un menu qui n'est pas servi lorsqu'on s'installe et qui sort 2 factures identiques : une avec les prix affichés considérés comme TTC, puis lorsqu'on demande la réduction de 10% annoncée dans les chambres, refont une facture avec cette fois-ci les prix affichés mais considérés HT, donc bilan, avec la taxe en plus et la réduction, cela revient au même que les prix de la carte ! Douteux comme pratique !

Nice litlte hotel with a good location at a resonably price. Value for money if you can live without fridge and internet i the room. Intenetconnection is though availble in the lobby without any extra costs. All in all: A OK place.

Nous avons choisi cet hotel car il est situé à deux pas d'un arrêt vaporeto et il donne sur un rio. (Jolie vue) Le personnel était très sympa et il y a des réductions pour le restaurant de l'hotel. (Pates environ 8 euros) Petit dej correct. La chambre donnait directement sur le rio (Seulement quelques chambres), elle était propre mais le chauffage ancien ne marchait pas bien et faisait tellement de bruit qu'il était impossible de le laisser la nuit. De plus l'isolation entre les chambres n'est pas terrible et le matin nous étions réveillés par nos voisins ou par un bateau passant sur le rio. Globalement, hotel sympathique mais isolation à refaire.

Frukostbuffe stod det i beskrivningen, stämde nog inte riktigt överens med verkligheten som bestod utav kaffe/the + croissant + fabriksrostad bröd + marmelad som smakade ungefär som att sträcka tungan ut genom fönstret, allt serverat av en äldre gumma i morgontofflar. Trots denna beskrivning dock ganska nöjd, vad kan man förvänta för detta pris i turismens Mecka?

Accueil agréable, les employés sont très sympathiques. Cet hôtel est très bien situé, dans Venise. Très bon rapport qualité prix, si un jour je reviens à Venise, je reviendrai dans cet hôtel.
