Wyndham Garden Hotel at Broadway and Fifth - Niujorkas

Decent service on arrival, allowing early check-in but one of the 2 elevators out of service. The one remaining small elevator was extremely slow and busy as they had no service elevator for staff and cleaning trolleys. Room had not been cleaned when we were finally able to get into it. Room very small but had standard facilities except no mini-bar. Room made-up by the time we arrived back in the afternoon. Hotel in a good, central location so overall not bad if you are planning to spend most of your time sight-seeing or out on business.

Good value for central NYC. Comfortable sleep. Staff service adequate only. My airport shuttle was booked for the wrong time (p.m. instead of a.m.). The hotel staff member present at the time of this problem becoming apparent was less than helpful in finding a remedy. I would stay here again but not rely on the hotel staff for booking or organising anything outside the hotel.

Room was great! In a good area. Near everything. Looking into staying there agin!

The room was so small we constantly were bumping in to each other- there was no hair dryer even though we were assured it was under the sink- hallways reminded me of those on a cruise ship- quoted room service eb=though there is none. Rude front desk hep overnight. VERY disappointed

The hotel claims to have had a recent renovation, it's still in need of improvement. One of the 2 elevators went to every floor except ours. It wasn't repaired in the 4 days we were there. Our bathroom had no shower curtain or extra toilet paper. There were no cups available to make coffee with the coffee maker. We could hear the guest above us use the bathroom and flushing during the night. Worst of all the room wasn't properly cleaned. The shower wasn't cleaned on a daily basis, nor did they clean the floors. The same piece of black plastic that was on the bathroom floor in the room when we arrived was still there when we left. The hotel has potential just needs much more attention to details.

The room was very small.Considering where we were was understandable. The room was very clean and beds were comfy.

The room was small but neatly appointed -- very clean -- and the hotel staff were very attentive. Everything worked well. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Front desk staff helpful in directions and extra places to go.

the staff was very nice at teh front desk, but the room was odd. It had a large awkward column in the middle of the bedroom. We couldn't lock the door from the outside and had to wait about 45 minutes for someone to fix it. The front desk checked another couple into the same room that they checked us into 15 minutes prior. luckily the key didn't work and they couldn't get walk in on us. With that being said, everyone was very nice and the room was clean.

If you're in NYC to Sightsee and plan to not be in your room much time then this is a perfect hotel. GREAT LOCATION & Close to Metros.

Excellent location, great neighborhood. Room was very comfortable but there was no dresser so expect to live out of your suitcase. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay there again for the same great rate.

the hotel eatery is under construction

After reading previous reviews about the cleanliness of the room, I checked the sheets and was satisfied. The bathroom was also clean, though I think the cleaning agent used in the shower was strong. Overall, a good place to stay overnight.

The hotel was a lot smaller than i thought it would be. There was supposed to be a resturant in the hotel but it was being put in and there was a lot of construction which was loud and the lobby was very tiny as well. Great price, room being small wouldnt have been so bad if there was a lounge or lobby to hang in.

We had booked 5 rooms, each with 2 double beds. When we arrived, we had rooms with a single king. Between Hotels.com and the front desk at the Wyndham, the worked very hard to insure that each party in the group had their own bed. They ended up giving us 7 total rooms to accomodate us. The Wyndham was willing to work with us and the customer service for Hotels.com was fast and extremely effective.

Lovely hotel with well sized rooms! Friendly and helpful staff, great location near trains and easy to find a cab. Close to Chelsea clubs and restaurants, but not a loud neighborhood.

I like the bustling Chelsea are and was pleased that the hotel is well located within that neighbourhood, very close to subway stations.

My only complaint was that I experienced possibly the worst water pressure I've ever had the misfortune to encounter when I tried the shower. I was only there for one night and I showered in the morning before I checked out, so I didn't do anything about it. Had I been going to stay for another night, I would have asked them to either fix the shower if that was the problem or move me to another room with better water pressure (if the pressure changed from room to room). Other than that I was supremely satisfied!

The staff was friendly but were not equipped with necessary tools for visitors (i.e. business center to print properly, on site restaurant was under construction as well as the bar). Very small rooms, but that was not the turn off. The turn off was the hair on the floor and the patchwork fixes in the bathroom where there had been some obvious water damage.

I thought the hotel was small on arrival, but I didn't realise the 'space' issue in NY. The rooms were well decorated, had flat-screen TV, iron, coffee, air-conditioning and hairdryer. It was exceptionally clean, had plenty of room to move around and the best thing of all was the location. Superb. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was small and if you stay, choose a room with 2 double beds. You will get a bigger room, even though it is still small. I am not sure if they change the sheets between different customers. One bed had a blood stain on the sheet and the other one had a dirty tissue at the bottom of the bed under the sheet. Other than that the hotel was fine. Definitely not for staying more than a night or two and not a place you can get comfortable at.

Reasonable price for Manhattan. Tiny room. Bathroom reeked of mildew which couldn't be rectified with an aerosol disinfectant spray. Puzzling since the room was reasonably tidy. Very convenient to several subway lines and crosstown on the M23 bus.

For a quick, last minute getaway to the Big Apple- the price & hotel both were great. The staff was very friendly & helpful in giving us info on where to go out for dining, nightlife, shopping...etc. The only downside to the hotel would be the small size of the room- but no big deal. You're only sleeping in the room & what more can you expect in a city?! Definately would stay again!

Decent hotel for the price, small room but that is to be expected in Manhattan. Good location and convenient to subway, restaurants, etc. Satisfactory experience.

Cleanliness of the hotel room was sub-par. The bathroom didn't have a bath tub, just a shower stall in the corner of the tiny bathroom with a shower curtain - and it was dirty too. Yuck. One of the bed's in my double room looked like they hadn't changed the sheets on it because there was hair on the sheets and pillow.

There was an argument in the hallway my first night for about 1 hour. From 2am till 3am. Arrived around 11:30 PM. No one was at the front desk when I arrived. Had to wait about 15min till someone arrived to get my room key, turned out the room was already occupied. Had to get new key and then finally retired to my room, the argument started a little while later. Other than the first night, everything else was fine.

The entrance of the hotel looks lovely but the lobby is tiny and cramped. I was on the 18th floor and looked out onto a fire escape of the neighboring building. The room was tiny and cramped but the bed and desk chair were comfortable. There was not a thing in the room that had any orientation to the hotel (on what floor is the restaurant? where is the ice machine? on what floor is the gym? do they have room service?). There was an "art show" during the weekend. This consisted of artists posting their hotel room number in the elevator. Patrons were invited to join them in their rooms, complete with lounging on their beds. A weird experience.

I had the worst experience with the staff at this hotel. I arrived at 2:50pm and check-in was at 3:00 but had to wait over an hour for a room to be cleaned. Also, I reserved 2 rooms but was told that because the were 100% occupied I could not have the 2 double beds that I had reserved.

The staff was delightful, the room was pleasantly appropriated, but the room was exceedingly tiny. There was not a chair to sit in other than the desk chair; which when occupied blocked the entire pathway of the room. My husband and myself are average sized people ... not obese .. and we both were claustrophobic in the room. We only were in the room to sleep as we were not comfortable with the rooms proportions. The bathroom was also tiny and the only way to sit on the toilet was to sit sideways so as not to bump into the shower stall. The bed was so close to the heating/cooling unit that it was difficult to adjust the temperature. It was either blowing freezing air on us or stuffy. The location of the hotel is wonderful and the area seemed safe and well lit. The desk personnel and maid service was friendly and helpful. I would probably not stay there again because I don't enjoy cramped spaces.

Very good location. Good for price (I booked with last minute offer). But I could hear the voice from hall way and next room. No bath tub. There is only shower booth. Overall, it's fine for me. I would stay again.

Nice comfortable room for your money. Clean, Comfy bed, nice size bathroom. Hotel front desk gentlemen friendly, ladies not as friendly but okay.

Unless you are used to New York parking guidelines, the availabilty of parking was costly. I spent almost $80 (not including tips) in one nights stay. The hotel did not inform me I had to pay each time I left the hotel and use my rental. I could have stayed at the marriott (downtown manhattan)and used their valet service for $55 a night and used my rental as much as I needed or their limo service to go anywhere for $40 an hr. And the rooms are extremely small, which is not comfortable if you have a guest or plenty of baggage. Hotel does not have a view I enjoyed the cafe and location though...

Everything from check-in to check-out was nice. The entrance is small, but inviting, and the receptionist was friendly and professional. Our room was just as it looked in the photos--and we were impressed with the use of space and tranquil atmosphere. The flat-screen TV and king bed made our stay very comfortable. We will stay here when we visit NYC, and recommend it to others as well.

I frequently travel to NY and this hotel is the best I've found reasonably priced!!!! Beds are so comfortable - comforters with duvets! Large flat screen wall mounted tv. Front desk staff very nice. The only thing I didn't like about the room is that the cooling/heating unit blows directly on the closest bed - there's no way to redirect the air flow.

A small intimate limited service chain hotel. Spotlessly clean, modern with cool funky bathrooms. Resonable size rooms provide exceptional value. Neighborhood a little lacking but walking distance to whatever you want. If you need to be in that area and don't need the services of a big hotel there's not a better choice.

Convenient location, but the streets were very dark walking to the hotel in the evening. Room was small, but very clean with a very comfortable bed!! Will certainly check in again for more business travel.

For the most part the hotel met our needs and had several good things we enjoyed. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The bed was very comfortable, no complaints there. There was a Starbucks located in the hotel which made it very convenient for breakfast and getting bottled water etc. The location was great for our needs and was close to a subway stop. There was a cool Thai restaurant across the streeet which came in handy after a long day out in the cold. The bathroom was roomy also. The bad parts were the toliet was stopped up and we could not get it repaired to our satisfaction. They did offer to change our room if we wanted to do that. Also the room never was quite warm enough for my husband but not sure if that was him or the heat. I was fine. The first day the room was not cleaned before we came home from a day of sightseeing and we had to call for fresh towels,but they came right away. After that there was not a problem. The decor was very nice and pleasing and up to date.

This is a great place if you want to be in the Union Square area. I have traditionally stayed in Times Square but wanted a change of environment and did not want to pay the higher rates associated with Time Square. The hotel is relatively new, clean, neat, and has a very friendly staff. Rooms are NYC sized, but appropriate considering you should never go to NYC just to hang out in your room. Starbucks is downstairs and there are at least 10 great restaurants and 5 great Cafes within a 5 to 7 block walk. I would definitely recommend to other travelers.
