Meadowland - B&B - Batas (Bath)

What a lovely B&B. From top to bottom, the place is absolutely spotlessly clean and I was delighted to see a range of nice added touches that you won't find elsewhere... a small decanter of sherry in the room, cotton wool balls for make-up removal... it shows real thought and consideration for the traveller. Also, having stayed in a vast number of identi-kit hotels around the world, it was really nice to find a place to stay that was owned and staffed by someone genuinely interested in helping people make the most of their trip. Clearly the owner took great pride and satisfaction in his trade and was very keen to help in any way possible, yet he remained curteously discrete and unobtrosive. The room was very large, tastefully decorated and the bed was huge and comfortable. The same room in a larger hotel would surely attract a fee outside my "leisure" bracket! Breakfast was utterly gorgeous! When I saw the location on a map, I was concerned about whether it would take too long to travel into and back from the town centre. Not so. The walk into the centre is only a short (and pleasant) stroll, and in any case, taxis are cheap and plentiful. I would thoroughly recommend staying at the Meadowland B&B. Personally, I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else in Bath.
