Salvo Hotel Shanghai - Šanchajus

Hotel was fine. Breakfast buffet was substandard. Anong other snafus, at check-in they would not let me check (after waiting on line) downstairs, but insisted I go to the 31st floor for the VIP check-in where I had to wait again. Really? And for the record, VIP check in adds no value except wasting your time.

This hotel is ideally situated within ten minutes walking distance to East Nanjing Road Metro station and the Nanjing Road shopping area. I had a room on the 25th floor facing the Bund, and had fantastic views across the city and the river. The Executive Business Suite was very spacious with a seperate lounge/study area, two televisions and a computer and free internet access.. The food was of a good standard, although I only ate in a couple of time. All the staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Salvo hotel was pretty much what you could expect based on the reviews of others that have stayed in the hotel. Very basic hotel, rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was not quite up to the standard was the breakfast buffet. Selection of foods was quite narrow and the dishes were rather old, tea/coffee cups had stains and plates had cracks on the surface already. So that gave a little bit of an offset impression. The location of the hotel is not very convenient and the taxi drivers did not know the hotel even by the Chinese name or when you showed them the hotel card with the address, so it would've been rather difficult to find the hotel if I did not speak any Chinese, nor had I known Shanghai from the past. In anycase, I can recommend Salvo hotel to others as well.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights in an executive suite. The extra space was well timed after 20 nights in China. Furnishings were execellent and location close to all our needs. Note that we ate almost all meals outside the hotel. Best for travellers who want a really nice room/suite at a great price but plan to be out of the hotel for the entire day.

Very poor room service, breakfast also very bad

This hotel was one surprise after another! Great location...beautiful, spacious room and great breakfast! Dinner and bar weren't up to par for the hotel...but easily overlooked, considering EVERYTHING else!

Wasn't quite sure what to expect with this hotel, but it exceeded my expectations. It is wonderfully located and within walking distance of most sights. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed and the staff attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again in Shanghai.

Wasn,t sure of what to expect but pleasantly surprised to find The Salvo hotel a great hotel. Staff were very helpful and the rooms spotless only downside for me was the pressure of the shower,Hansgrohe Pharo unit but no great pressure, still can live with that. It is centrally lococated in the Bund area, just a short walk from the river with all its magnificent views and any other tourist spot in the city just a short taxi ride away. I will be back.

These might be minor to most but the sum of them was enough to upset me. - You can't connect your laptop in your room. Instead they provide a desktop XP system you must use. - No DVD player and I couldn't connect my laptop to the TV. The connections were there, but they have those generic remotes and hotel TV menus that won't let you change the input. - Very little English TV, only CNN, CCTV and Bloomberg were in English. No HBO etc.. - Wanted a 50RMB deposit to borrow a fork. - Wouldn't leave a corkscrew in the room. - bar/waiting area downstairs has a 40RMB drink minimum

Ett helt otroligt bra hotell, vi hade en executive svit med separat sov och vardagsrum, trekantigt badkar och en massagedusch. Rummet var i toppskick, fräscht och rent. Det finns kylskåp, vattenkokare och te på rummet men ej kaffe ,vi tog med snabbkaffe själva. All personal är hjälpsam och många pratar engelska. Vi hade ett tyst rum på en rökfri våning, vilket man kan beställa. Vi blev verkligen väl bemötta och allting finns på hotellet, såsom restauranger, bar, massage, kontor och en ATM i lobbyn. Nära till tunnelbanestationen East Nanjing road, Old city (Nanshi), shoppinggatan Nanjing road, Peoples park och the Bund. vi är vekligen jättenöjda med vår vistelse på Salvo.

Hotel is located 500 m from East Nanjing Road subway station, 10 min walk from old town, 10 min walk from Bund. STD Rooms are small but with nice furniture. Bathrooms could be better...

I've stayed in quite a few of the hotels downtown-Bund in Shanghai, but this was good! We were also upgraded to their executive rooms, which might have an influence on this(?)

Jag bokade 2vux+ett barn. Det förutsattes att 7-åringen skulle sova i dubbelsängen tillsammans med oss vuxna. Om vi ville ha en extrasäng så kostade den mer än 50% av rumskostnaden. Orimligt tycker vi! Annars ett hotell med bra läge och fin utsikt över The Bund.

Rapport qualité prix impeccable . Personnel très agréable maitrisant l'anglais . Situation géographique très appréciable pour se promener .

Hotellets beliggenhet er helt topp. Kortvei til Nanjing road, The Bund og mange andre sevirdigheter. The som var minus med dette hotellet var det vonde lukten på rommet når aircondition slått av og teppen kunne renset bedre. Ellers så var vi fornøyd med servicen og ikke minst beliggenhet på hotellet.
