I have stayed here a couple of times this year and love the hotel and their breakfast buffet with everything I want in the morning -- except the layout of the breakfast bar! Every morning you fight for a place at the poorly laid out bar to get your yogurt, eggs, coffee, etc... Why don't they move the cappucino machine so it isn't so crowded? People making their expressos bump against the people getting cereal, who run into those who want yogurt and blueberries, who jostle those who want ham and boiled eggs. Move something out of the way! Otherwise a wonderful location and a hotel with a personality.

We will go back and stay there. It was my first time in nyc and i loved it. It was a present for my boyfriend who has been to nyc many times and he agreed it very nice perfect for what we needed. We would love to go back and stay a week and have a chance to use the pool.

The hotel is designed for the young at heart. The pool and bar are wonderful with a music and party atmosphere. But you can skip that and simply take advantage of the great location at a good price including a Continental Plus breakfast.

The location was wonderful, just steps from Times Square. The breakfast was good, but the serving area was much too small. The room was very uncomfortable, the side of the bed was against a wall. The bed was on top of a platform that dominated the room. We had to step off the platform to the floor, and the step was uncomfortably high. A huge support column was in the center of the room. The only seating was a pair of cushions on the platform. It might be a change of pace for a night or two, but not for a week.

I liked the room it was a little small but well designed. It was clean. It was noisy downstairs because of the bar , I couldnt really use the poool or sauna: too crowded.

The Hotel is in a prime location in Times Square. It has a pretty cool lounge area with a pool. People party there until about 2:00 a.m. Fun place!

Nice hotel with great swimming pool/bar. The room was quiet and well laid out. Would stay there again.

This hotel is in a great midtown location one minute from Times Square; good subway connections nearby; ten minutes walk from both Penn Station and Central Park. Room was clean and stylish if a little small but this is New York. Big ensuite shower-room and shower pressure was fine. Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, ham, bagels, boiled eggs, as much as you can eat, served in a chic room overlooking the pool. Pool small but was great for a quick dip. Gym, sauna and steam room also available. Lively nightlife in the hotel with pool parties and DJs but it didn't keep us awake. The corridors and public areas are all stylishly decorated and lit in a dim atmospheric manner. Felt very cool and relaxing. Kiosk at reception well stocked if a little pricey. Will definitely stay here again.

Considering the size of NYC rooms in the moderate price range, this hotel was great. It was small but functional. Refig in room was nice for leftovers and drinks. Breakfast was nice to have available and was out until 11:00, a nice touch considering NY is a late nite town!

The layout of my room was so smart, in terms of how they take a typically small-to-average Midtown NYC hotel room & laid it all out. The bed was crazy-comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was the only negative. And the continental breakfast was so great & nice. Can't wait to stay there again.

The pool off the lobby is very cool. Great location just off of Times Square. Very modern, European style hotel. A true gem in NYC. Highly Recommended.

The hotel atmosphere is a lot of fun. Great for a younger crowd as the bar was packed on a Friday night...also, love the leather cushion all the way around the bed ;)

SMALL but CLEAN rooms.

My husband and I loved this hotel, not even half a block from Time Square!! Very contemporary and chic. It has a lounge and indoor pool with a swim-up bar. We had friends meet us there for drinks and we had a great time and the the dj in the lounge was great also. The rooms are not big, which is expected in NYC. We got upgraded to a bigger room without even asking. I do highly recommend this hotel, however, not a great place for kids. Another big plus: FREE Continental Breakfast in the lounge!!

The staff is very nice, and the hotel is located 3 minutes away from Time Square. The swimming pool is amazing. Breakfast is included. I really loved my stay.

A wonderful but small hotel. Nice people, lovely breakfast, tiny pool, great location, ...... The only possible problem is I hope it's available on my next NYC trip.

Great location, outstanding breakfast, nice staff.

The size of the room of the hotel is typical NYC-- very small. The service and ambiance was much better than usual. Very hip without being overbearing.

Hotel was one block from Times Square. Room was very spacious. Indoor pool was beautiful, breakfast was great, staff was exceptional - cant wait to go back!!

This has to be one of the best hotels that I have stayed at, and the price was awesome. Service was great and the place is just amazing.

You simply cannot go wrong with the Room-Mate Grace. The location is right off Times Square behind Planet Hollywood. Considering the location, the hotel was exceptionally quiet. The staff was very friendly. The free continental breakfast was not only terrific, it was just a added bonus. The only thing I would ask would be a small work table. I would defintely highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am very happy to have found this hotel. I've been in NY a few times and hotels in that kind of budget are usually pretty basic and sometimes even dirty. This one is amazing, great room, great people and the best location possible right on Times Square. I highly recommend it to young couple, its really fun with the modern accomodations, the pool, sauna and gym + free wireless internet. It gets busy and noisy in the weekends with the DJ and the pool parties so I wouldnt recommend it to older/laid back people. Try it, you'll love it

We were impressed with the hotel and the location. We were able to walk a half block and be right in the center if Time Square. It was still far enough from the noise to get a good nights sleep. This was my first visit to NYC so I was a little nervous but the hotel put all my worries to rest. They even watched our bags on the day we checked out so we could run a few last minute errands. We when arrived back at the hotel a cab was waiting to take us to the airport. I only had one issue with the hotel. I wished the complimentary breakfast had little bit more variety available for breakfast. Some additional items like waffles, bacon or sausage would have been nice. Outside of that I still think this was a great place and I plan on staying there again on my next visit to NYC.

The room I had was very small - not even enough room for a chair to sit on. The bed is on a large platform that doubles as a seating ledge. Despite the small room, the bathroom was relatively spacious, but had a strange sliding door that covered either the toilet stall or the shower stall. You'd slide it one way to enter the toilet and the other way to enter the shower. The shower had one of the big "rainfall" showerheads which made the water pressure feel even lower, although overall it was a decent shower. No tub, no dresser. The only place for clothes was a hanging rod behind a curtain or a small plastic cube with three plastic drawers (like the kind they sell in an office supply store). Everything seemed clean and relatively new and the room was quiet. Bed was comfy.

The Room Mate Grace hotel exceeded my expectations. From the free continental breakfast, to the amazing steam room and sauna, and the AMAZING beds, this hotel stay was a wonderful one for me and my girlfriend. I would fully recommend this hotel to anyone below the age of 50 looking to have a good time in NYC. The location is also a very big plus...eing one half of a block from times square.

The place was nice - we arrived and left at strange times, so the front service could have been better and more attentive. The room wasn't gigantic (we got the deluxe with one bed), but it was nice. The light fixture above the bed was a nice touch, but had been ripped out of the sheetrock and repaired previously. The pool was fantastic - swim up bar, plenty of places to store your stuff while you swam. There were no beach towels to be found, though, and the drinks at the bar were almost an Andrew Jackson each! So be careful when choosing this place. It's nice, but not posh - good, but not great. Ideal for younger couples on a budget who want to be close to midtown/Times Square.

This hotel was in a wonderful location (6th/7th and Broadway). It was very close to all theaters and just steps from Times Square, which made it a great jumping off point to explore. It's a nice walk to Hell's Kitchen area with plenty of dining. Just outside the hotel we had Irish bar row - we enjoyed The Perfect Pint (the bartenders were fun). Try Cranberry Deli out the front and to the left -- they had wonderfully priced breakfast and the bacon, egg & cheese croissant was delicious! I also recommend Havana Centro -- they had a great lunch deal and the food was very good (plus a mojito). Hotel staff was very nice, rooms were clean and modern. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel.

This hotel was half a block from Times Square, but the room was very quite and comfortable. The continental breakfast was wonderful! We would definitely stay again.

Great Hotel, Excellent Sauna (dry & steam)- Best continental breakfast. Do not particularly like the mix of outside people during the week-end open pool parties. Also it tends o block the way when getting in the hotel.

We had a petite room (the smallest available) but it was thoughtfully designed and had two windows with decent street/city views. The continental breakfast is a good added value and staff were friendly. The hotel itself is very close to Times Square and walking distance to Penn Station, Central Park and mid-town museums. Nearby subway stops will take you to just about anywhere in the city. The few downsides include thin walls--especially bad if you have boisterous neighbors--and even more boisterous late night parties. The second floor off the lobby has a small pool and plays host to DJ nights every night. Do what you can to avoid checking in late PM when you have to compete with the club set to reach the elevators. Not a terrible bother and you may even enjoy the party.

CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE ROOMS,THE DECOR OF THE HOTEL IS AN EYE PLEASUASURE,SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF, MY ONLY CHOICE NOW ON!!

I recommend this hotel to young people who like to be on the scene. It is stylish, hip and modern. I chose this hotel because of it's location and amenities, like the pool, sauna and steam room. However, be aware that the bar is quite active and loud at night, and ANYONE can pay to come in and use the pool. The pool is open 24 hours, which is nice, but on a weekend it is over-run by 20-somethings. If this is your thing, you will love it. But if you long for a more chill atmosphere, this is not it. The breakfast is nicely set up in the lounge. My room on the 16th floor had a great view, but the large windows made it very cold. When I asked about why most of the cable channels weren't working, I was told that it would be working the next day and it wasn't (apparently the fault of Time Warner and not the hotel - but a straight answer would have been nice). And then, the pool was closed all day Sunday for a private photo shoot. Great for the hotel, but bad for me because I planned to lounge by the pool that afternoon. I wasn't notified of the pool closing until the night before. This is the kind of thing that customers coming from across the country and spending their hard earned money for 3 days in NYC should have been notified of well in advance. I felt like I didn't get to use the amenities that I paid for. When I complained, the staff offered me a small refund, which was very good of them. I still haven't seen that refund, but we'll see...

You definately don't want to be on the 3-4-5th floors, because of the pounding rave music from the 2nd floor pool/club. Sundays crowd was very attractive. Mondays crowd there was...unusual but interesting also. Breakfast had more than I expected. Room window was very drafty and cold. No door on the bathroom. No way to hang long coats.
