The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, decent room and very good breakfast, a great base to travel aound London from and lots of great mixed range of price places to eat around area.

Prices in London can be quite high, so this was good enough for the price we paid. The (double) room was bright and more spacious than I was expecting and the bed was quite comfortable. The hotel is very close to the South Kensington tube station and only a short walk from the three museums and Hyde Park.

Hotel was good value for money. It was wonderful to be so close to sth kensington tube station. Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were all, without exception, friendly and helpful especially on the reception. Will definately stay again. My only moan would be the breakfast, I dont like machine coffee/tea and the toasters were not working properly, but quality and choice of food good.

Greast location althought the local and surrounding underground stations were closed due to repair works on the circle line. The Rooms were large but dingy with mould on the walls and cieling in the bathroom and a jet bath that didn't work.The room was booked as a double but had an additional set of bunkbeds in the room ! The staff were found to be smoking in the corridoors of this none smoking hotel. Check out was noon but we were woken at ten a.m by the cleaner trying to enter the room. Won't be back.

The hotel is in very good location, just next to the tube station and a number of cafe and restaurants around to choose. It's just two stops to go to Knightsbridge for shopping and museum. They provide an electric fan in the room, no air conditioning. OK in the evening but cannot stay in room during day time when the sun is out.

We wanted to explore London for the day and this hotel gave us the perfect opportunity to do so. It was extremely well located and allowed us to nip back a couple of times during the day in order to drop things off before setting off on our next destination! Would definately use it again.

I had read reviews on this hotel and was slightly worried but very pleasantly surprised. I travelled to London with my daughter from Ireland for the weekend and we loved this hotel. Will definately stay again and have recommended it to friends.Yes bits of the decor were shabby but the grand hotel has character. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and lots to choose from even if it only included continental. Each morning the staff were busy and they did run out of nearly everything but you only had to wait a few minutes for them to refill. The best bit is the position of hotel- across the road from South Kensington tube!!! Great for the museums too.

The Grosvenor hotel, primarily sits in a fab geographical location; quite literally a stones throw away from tube links.The area around it boasts many cafe bars,restaurants and shops. yet when in the hotel it is a calm and quite sanctuary, with a pleasant atmosphere. All staff were polite and helpful. Rooms are both clean and comfortable; ensuring a restful stay. One other point of satisfaction was the inclusive breakfast. The room where breakfast is served was both clean and cosy. The choice and quality of food was also to a good standard. overall I think this hotel represents excellent value for money. I would not hesitate, in both, revisiting or recommending to anyone planning a stay within the capital.

Good customer service,friendly. Rooms very clean and comfortable, great choice for breakfast-set you up for the day. Good location very close to South Kengiston tube station. Good choice of cafes and resturants close by. My second visit, this time brought extended family-I'll be back and so will they.

We chose this hotel as it was right by the Natural History Museum, the main reason for our trip!! I was very pleased when I stepped off the tube @ Kensington South and our hotel was right there! Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly! Hotel was basic, but all you needed was in the room tv, tea/coffee facilities etc Would go back and would reccommend!!

Only stayed one night and found staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very filling and only expected continental but got ful English. If you have a child make sure you book a child's cot and remind them before you arrive. Enjoyed the stay

This Spanish-run hotel is in a great location and the price is low. But you get what you pay for. The public areas of the hotel are good, even if the staff can be a little abrupt, but open the door to your room and you get peeling paint, cracked tiles, rotting windows. That said, the bed was comfortable, and I slept well. The bar is good, but could be open longer. Breakfast: eggs cooked in a microwave are not scrambled; meat-flavoured rusk in a tube is not a sausage. After day one I stuck to the cold meats and cheeses and was much happier but even there a sliced tomato shouldn't be garnished with dried herbs and the (delicious) oranges should have had the pith cut off with the skin. This is not a de luxe experience, not by any means. I won't stay there again for business but if I was paying out of my own pocket, I might consider it.

I liked how close to the tube station this hotel was and restaurants, museums etc. But the service was not very good. The room was missing a kettle and after speaking to the reception they were still not able to find one at all. We were surprised to have bunkbeds in a double room too and no option to change room. The breakfast was very good. The room did not come with a minibar/fridge which should be standard I think. I think there are so many hotels to choose from in this area I would not stay there again knowing I have lots of better places to stay.

spent one night here to visit the museums. I was a bit worried having read other reviews, but our room was lovely. It was on the ground floor, on the main road, but it was quiet, comfortable and warm. The staff were very friendly, breakfast good selection. I will return!

Hotel reception was very welcoming, condition on room was good although there was a few things which could have done with some 'touch-ups' such as the door frames and the bath tub. The included breakfast was pretty good and had a wide selection. Reception staff were helpful!

Excellent location, just a hundred yards from tube station. Museums a short walk away. Room is a little "beat up" but clean and decent size. Excellent breakfast was included....full range of cereal, English breakfast, Continental, fruit etc....and just load up for the day. We were in town for the NFL game at Wembley and this hotel suited us for a 2 night stay.

Stayed over One night and to be honest had Great Value for money when you consider its location Fifty Meters from a Tube entrance. Bathroom required some attention even if its just replacing taps and painting. Whilst I thought breakfast was not included in my price it was fortunatly, if you paid twelve pounds for that you would feel ripped off but included price it was ok. My real gripe was the parking as the NCP was three pounds ph and the meters were the same price.

Although unexpected from booking information a full and tasty breakfast was provided - which was a most pleasant surprise.

room was shabby (bedspreads worn, threadbare - one chair also badly worn - bad cracking of paint at window - woodwork badly chipped at bases - unable to control shower temperature probably the oldest room in the hotel room was clean, beds comfortable breadfast included was great!

Because of some of the reviews on Trip Adviser and Hotels.com, I came the this hotel expecting a ghetto. I was mistaken however because it was an overall nice hotel. A big perk was the full buffet breakfast that was included with the rooms. They had all kinds of breakfast food for diners to choose from and it was all delicious. It is an older hotel which is obvious from things like slow elevators to the worn lounge furniture. Our rooms were clean and sufficient for our needs. The only problem we had was that some rooms were very hot. We stayed during the summer and our first room faced a brick wall and the window wouldn't stay open. There was no air conditioning beyond the lobby. To make matters worse, the hot water pipes in the bathroom work as a radiator and heat the whole room. Therefore, our first night was sweltering and sleepless. The staff did move us to another room on a separate side of the building that also had a fan. The rest of our stay was pleasant. A final perk was the location. It's 1/2 a block from the South Kensington underground station which made it convenient for the airport as well as site seeing.

This hotel was in a very convenient location, but that was the only good thing about it. The staff was very unfriendly and sometimes even rude. Nobody knew anything about the surrounding area and they tried to charge us several times for an extra breakfast when we had already paid for our extra person. The rooms were very outdated. This was a 1 star hotel at most. Coming from a tourist city with dozens of hotels, I was extremely dissatisfied with the negative atmosphere of this hotel.

If you want to stay in Kensington or if you want to be near the Underground this is a choice worth considering. Pros: within 2 minutes walk of the South Kensington underground station. Room size was large, good view from the balcony. Cons: Bed spread had gum on it, carpet seam was ripped, shower valve would not work and staff was slow to respond, price was expensive vs. other hotels we stayed at during our visit. Conclusion: If you plan to use the underground a lot try to find a cleaner hotel near a station even if it is a little farther out of town.

The hotel was what I expected for what we paid, with a few perks. The location is great, right off the tube. The breakfast is included and was very good. Only compliant I have is that breakfast did not start at 7 like stated and we had to leave and miss breakfast to catch a train. Staff was very polite and helpful, bathroom was a little small. Overall, good experience.

Friendly staff. Decent room & continental breakfast (included with our price, not sure about all reservations). Great location to S. Kensington Tube Station and walking distance to many attractions.

The hotel is in an excellent location just outside of the south kensington underground station and a short walk to Harrods. If where you sleep doesnt matter, then this hotel would work well. The Hotel is very tired and in need of updating. There is NO air conditioning and it was quite hot when we stayed there. The beds are similar to plywood with pads on top, but have clean linens. You have to be a very small person to fit into the showers, but they're clean and have great water pressure. Make sure you get to breakfast early as they run out of tables and we had to wait on one morning, but there was ample food when we were finally seated. The hotel staff is very helpful with the area and can provide recommendations for restaurants, show tickets, etc.

it was cheap for this location and the size of the room. The breakfast was quite variety and nice. we asked for a triple room but the beds are one double, and bunks although we asked for 3 singles.

After some of the other reviews (that I read after booking) I was somewhat concerned. It turns out that the room was clean and comfortable, although it could use a face lift. The included buffet breakfast had a nice selection and the food was good. Very close to the South Kennsington Sta. on the Piccadilly line so it is a very easy commute to/from LHR airport and easy access to all of London. Seemed to be the best value considering the location and convenience at the time of my booking.

This was in a great location but it is very old and run down. our room had paint falling off and the wall paper in the halls was falling off too. we had to walk to our pickup point for our tour cuse it is not a major site. and their continental breakfest wasent that great!

We only stayed one night and it was fine. The location was good, the staff were very pleasant and we have only one complaint. The room was very warm. We kept the fan on all the time. I felt we got reasonable value for money. The Hotel is a bit tired looking and I certainly would not want to spend a week there, but for one night it suited us fine. It was convenient for Heathrow Airport as South Kensington is a direct link on the Piccadilly Line.

This hotel has an excellent location and the musuems and Kensington Palace are within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is old and the floors are squeeky but for the location the hotel is good and I do recommend it. The south kensington underground station is across the street. The hotel came with a full english breakfast, the hotel has some things that we did not like but the benefits of the location outweighed the negatives.

Good location, but needs a makeover. everything is old and deffective especially the bathrooms, walls, and carpet. Nice personnel, good food, very conveniently located.

The hotel location is ideal. It is literally 2 mins walk from South Kensington tube station and has a number of cafe's etc around it. Reception are very helpful and the lobby is nice enough. The hotel is in desperate need of refurb. The wallpaper is peeling off the walls, the floorboards creak under every step, floor tiles are dangerously broken, wood panels are chipped, carpets worn right through and the window nets are almost brown with dust. There was no heating/air con in my room which was a sweat box. The bed was comfortable and water hot and fast. The gym is small but adequate. One of the machines doesnt work. The sauna is small but works fine. The breakfast was varied enough but got very busy considering the hotel seemed quiet. I would not recommend this hotel.

For the price, this hotel is okay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the condition could have been a bit better with minimal effort. There was pant peeling from the tub surround that could have easily been fixed, and there were a couple other areas that could have been fixed with minimum effort. Overall, not bad, but ensure you are not paying a high price even if the location is very convenient.

Good room for the money,Hotel needs upgrading

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. The hotel is located about 2 minutes walk from South Kensington tube station, which is on the District, Circle and Picadilly lines making it convenient for trips to the West End. The room we had was located on the second floor; the room was comfortable but the bathroom was a bit tatty. The hotel bar closed at 11.oo pm even for residents; I have never stayed ina hotel where the bar was closed for residents, so that in my book was a big minus. Breakfast was served between 7.00 - 10.30 in the morning; on our second morning I was disappointed that some items were not available, even though we had arrived for breakfast at around 9.00 am. Overall, I thought the hotel was over-priced and did not represent value for money.

Great price & location. Also very good breakfast!

We went with another couple. We stayed here two different times 10 days apart. Both times our room was fine. The first time the other couple's room was not up to par but mamagment offered another room. The ssecond time the other couples room was good. Overall the hotel is fine as long as you are not looking for a 5 star hotel or the sercvices you would expect from a 5 star. Personally, the hotel room was a place to lay my sleepy head after a full touristy day. It served the purpose very well.

I travelled to London for a long weekend break with my 15 year old son. This hotel was perfect for location. It was near to the Science and History museums which he was very keen to see. We were very close to South Kensington tube station and so were able to visit other top tourist sites quickly and easily, which was important to us on such a short break. The hotel breakfast was brilliant; much better than we had expected, as we had already got a very reasonable deal on the hotel. This first meal of the day helped to set us up for the day. The hotel room was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed on our weekend. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely use this hotel again. It was excellent value for money.

Clean rooms, thick clean sheets, efficient staff

This is a "just the basics" hotel, but a great location for the price. The hallways and decor have seen better days, but my room was very clean and comfortable.

Was pleasantly surprised by hotel considering the low cost involved. Only stayed for 1 night but would definitely stay for longer next time. Close enough to West End but far enough away for it to be quiet. Only 50 yards from Tube station and round the corner from Exhibition Road-which houses main museums in London.

Grest spot to stay for London, especially with the price! Right next to South Kensington tube stop and several restaurants and museums. Most people traveling from the U.S. complain about room size of London hotels but my room was what should be expected for the price. Staff was great and room included a solid breakfast.

A friendly Hotel with curtious staff and relatively good facilities close to transport sources and close to both shopping and dining areas of a wide variety.

the location is terrific; the room large enough; the bathroom good sized, but the water in the shower kept switching by itself from scalding to freezing - making it tough to get ready for the day.

The best part of this hotel is the great location, just across the street from the South Kensington Underground station and only about a block from the Museum of Natural History. The rooms are small, but this is typical of this hotel class in London. The furnishings are a bit worn and dated, and the shower is VERY snug. However, it is reasonably clean, comes with breakfast included, has a luggage room to store your bags before or after checkout, and there is a friendly staff. Again, pretty typical of this hotel class in London. The reason to stay here is the great location...lots of cafes and restaurants within a 1-block walk, only 1 block to the Natural History Museum, V&A, and Science Museum, and a 10-min walk to Harrods or to Kensington Gardens.
