What a great location and hotel. Adjacent to Palace grounds. Ask for a room that overlooks the Palace. Our room had a balcony. Staff is super-friendly and helpful. Martin at front desk answered many questions and helped with bags. Interesting architecture which combines a very old building with modern amenities like glass elevators. Great included breakfast. Wonderful massage at low rates next door. Good for sore feet and legs from long days walking. If you have trouble walking this hotel may not be for you as it is up a small hill with cobblestones and two steps up to lobby. However everything interesting in Prague has lots of cobblestones and steps. About 2-3 blocks to Charles bridge. I cant say enough good things about this hotel.

The location of the hotel was ideal for us, Being up the hill its not for the faint hearted! Only a short walk up gives you some of the best views of the whole city from the castle grounds. The hotel lacks outdoor space but this is to be expected from a city hotel. Breakfast was lovely and the staff always busy cleaning and checking your needs.

Wonderful place to stay! Close enough to major sights, but not too close to be busy and noisy outside the hotel. We were trying to stay on a tight budget, so we got the smallest room they had, but still got an AMAZING view of Prague castle! Can't wait to go back!

This is a wonderful boutique hotel, located along the route of the royal procession in Mala Strana, also known as "Lesser Town," (near the Prague Castle). The area is just lovely - cobblestone streets, and much quieter than the boisterous Old Town section. The staff were incredibly friendly and cheerfully helped us figure out how to get to each of our locations each day. The breakfast was excellent, with lovely hotel staff to serve us. The hotel is a wonderful value for what we paid, and one of the nicest boutique hotels we have stayed at. One word of caution - to get to the hotel from the tram, you have to walk up 3 blocks of cobblestone-paved sidewalks. If you do not take a taxi to the hotel, be prepared for this small hike with your suitcases. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel is located a couple of blocks from the Palace/Castle and within walking distance from the Charles Bridge and the other side of town. The hotel has been remodeled, has an elevator, internet, and breakfast is included. The only little problem we had was finding parking for our car (rental). The hotel staff actually helped a lot and found parking in another hotel a couple of blocks from ours.

This was a very quaint, comfortable hotel in a nice location-close to Prague Castle and within walking distance to everything we wanted to do and see. The staff was fantastic, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served every morning in a small cafe in the lobby and was delicious each day that we were there.

Outstanding location, walking distance to all historical, cultural attractions, including the Charles Bridge, the Castle, the old city, the Jewish Ghetto, numerous churches and the Cathedral. Small boutique hotel, only 17 rooms. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Could not ask for a better residence while exploring the rich attractions of this great city.

Can't fault this hotel. In a very nice area close to plenty of restaurants and cafés. Only 5 minutes from the renowned Charles' bridge and even closer to the Prague castle. Stayed for 2 nights with my girlfriend and everything about the hotel was of a very high standard. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was well designed and pleasant. There is even a small garden on top from which you can see the Prague castle. All of the staff went out of their way to help and the facilities were also very good. Cannot recommend it highly enough, and would advise anyone to use this delightful hotel. 10/10

The Golden Wheel is a very well-run, well-maintained hotel with all the mod cons you'd expect. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Our room was one of the two on the fifth floor - be aware that there is a low, sloping ceiling to contend with if you have room 514 or 515. Also, there was no bath, just a shower although that wasn't a problem to us. The buffet breakfast was very good with hot and cold options to cater for all tastes. Contrary to an earlier review I've read, the coffee was excellent! The hotel has wi-fi although reception was patchy in the room, but fine on lower floors - reception gave us a network cable to get round this.

This lovely hotel is half way between the Charles Bridge and the Castle in an area known as Lesser town ( Mala Strana) The hotel is very clean, and the rooms of a good size. The breakfasts were a buffet type, with everything you could want. Original art works on the wall, a viewing balcony at the back to see the castle, no stag parties anywhere nearby, what more could you want. The hotel is non smoking, although the bar/cafe attached is not. If we go back to Prague we will definitely stay here again. We took the Prague Airport Shuttle both ways to and from the airport. 1100 Kr and was on time and polite both ways.

My wife and I decided on a mini break to Prague, and stayed at the Golden Wheel hotel for three nights, we chose this hotel due to the excellent guest reviews. The hotel certainly lived up to the good feedback in all aspects. The location is great, you can walk to the Charles bridge in ten minutes, be in the Old square in 15 minutes, and Prague castle in 10 minutes. There are also several good restaurants close by to the hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms very clean and comfortable, Thoroughly recommended!!

The Golden Wheel is a lovely little hotel in an area known as Mala Strana or 'little quarter'. It's a lovely area which seemed safe day and night and is perfect as a base for exploring the city of Prague. The hotel itself was very well presented. The reception area and cafe bar were nicely decorated and well apppointed. The bedroom was fantastic (no 309). Firstly, it was huge! By far the biggest room we've had during our travels around the cities of europe. Secondly, it was spotless. Very well decorated and maintained to a very high standard. The bathroom was large and again beautifully decorated in black and white. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family and would certainly stay here again if I was visiting Prague again.

Pretty much never satisfied, but this time was. Flexible, friendly, competent staff. (Even loaned us 500crowns when we needed last minute taxi fare. You only have to whisper that you want something extra and it's waiting for you by the time you get up stairs. Perfect location, clean AND free wifi in rooms. Can't find that in any of the other hotels with such location and authenticity.

The overall Hotel stay was excellent, condition , room comfort, breakfast, location and staff were just as expected. Short walk to Starbucks and Karlov Bridge, many restaurants were nearby. The staff was the best I have ever experienced even in more expensive and highly rated hotels. I traveled from Paris to Geneva to Milan to Salzburg and finally to Prague and the Hotel was by far my best experience.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Golden Wheel. The location was excellent! - walking distance to everything we wanted to see or do. The staff was courteous and spoke fluent English. The hotel, although centuries old, has been updated and contains an elevator to assist with baggage to the upper floors. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Prague!

Overall we really liked our stay at the Golden Wheel. The location was what we were looking for and the overlook balcony had a great view of the palace complex. The breakfast was wonderful with great warm breads and croissants and a good variety of food. The service was excellent and the staff were very prompt to answer any of our needs. Our only real concern was that the hot water was exceedingly hot and difficult to control so one had to be careful in the shower.

The Golden Wheel was a pleasure to stay in. We stayed there the first 3 nights of our honeymoon in the panoramic suite-- a 2-level room with lots of privacy and comfort. The service was great, too! My only suggestion would be for the hotel to invest in some heavier drapes! It gets light very early in the morning and the curtain on the skylight above the bed just didn't cut it! That aside, I would definitely recommend this hotel. It is a stone's throw from the Prague Castle. Very convenient.

We paid and received superior room (410) which has terrace with lovely views to castle. Lift access to all floors. Very quiet as on the rear of the hotel with no traffic passing. The room was spacious, with plenty of wardrobe space, safe, minibar (cheap), hairdryer and toiletries. Hill of nerudova street will concern some people but this hotel gives you halfway start to the castle which is high above the city. Charles bridge and river cruises are a 15 minute stroll from the hotel, with old town square (astronomical clock) 10 minutes further. We never needed transport (trams/subway) as everything so close to hotel, although within 5 minutes downhill of hotel there is a tram interchange. Enjoyed breakfast in our room at no extra charge and my wife received a lovely message and chocolate gift for her birthday (they clearly noted and used details I supplied by e-mail when arranging taxi transfers hotel/airport for 690 crowns 'aprox £30' each-way). Would certainly return to prague and use this hotel. There are many hotels in 'old town' which are more central but you can escape the hustle & bustle at the Golden Wheel. Breakfast is a buffet selection of cold / hot food, just right for starting the day while leaving room for cold refreshing pilsners in the day. There was always someone on reception and when they couldn't get tickets for ballet, they didn't sell their choice but gave us advice on how to get to the National Theatre which was about 20 minutes walk.

Golden Wheel was a great hotel. Wonderful customer service from the front desk. Good breakfasts. Room was atmospheric with an original painted ceiling. Lovely clean and efficient hotel with a welcoming feel. Only small complaint was that the double bed consisted of two singles pushed together with individual doonas which is not that good if you are used to sharing a double bed. The location of the hotel was good with good access to both sides of the river. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

With only 17 rooms, this small hotel has a comfortable "at home" feel. You don't feel like you are staying in a hotel, it is cozy, warm, and with a comfortable decor you don't expect in a hotel. I think the location is great - far enough from the main tourist drag of old town (20-25 min walk) but still definitely on the tourist circuit, just a 5 min walk from the bridge and right under the castle, and just a block or two from the tram. It was REALLY QUIET in my room all the time. The service and personal attention was excellent and all spoke very good English. My only tip would be to use the tourist information or internet for directions, what I got from the hotel staff was not always reliable. Nice breakfast buffet, all the essentials (breads, yogurts, fruits, meats and cheese, a hot egg dish with sausage or bacon, and juices). If you want to stay in a place that feels like a home, is quiet, well located, on public transport, and doesn't have the cookie-cutter feel of a big or chain hotel, this is an excellent choice and I think a very good value for the money.
