Novotel Venezia Mestre - Mestre

Parking was free. By bus was about 30 minutes to Venice. Hotel seems new, very nice decor, very clean. Wireless internet was out of order, but the hotel has 2, 24 inch apple machines in the lobby that you can use for free, for 30 minutes. I had to wait until after 11pm to get access. To get to Venice required buying a bus ticket at the nearest Tabbachi, about a 10 minute walk. The cost is Euro 16 for a 12 hour ticket that includes water taxis in Venice. Be careful to check your receipt as we purchased 2 tickets for Euro 32 for my wife and I. But when we tried to use my ticket for a water taxi once in Venice, I was told that my ticket was only for bus and was worth Euro 1.10. I had to buy a water taxi ticket for Euro 6.50. Only then did I check our receipt and discovered that the receipts were dated for the previous day and although we paid Euro 32, we had been given receipts for 16 and 1.10 Euros respectively. When we got back to Mestre, we went to the Tabbachi (convenience store) and pointed this out. We wanted a refund, but the storekeeper would only agree to give us a new ticket, which did not help us as we were about to leave for Milan. If we could do things over we would have tried to get to Venice without the rental car and rather stayed in the center of Venice. Price of the hotel through Hotels.com saved us over 100 dollars for 1 night! We called the hotel to check room availability and they gave me the best rate. I then called my son in the USA and had him check the price on Hotels.com. The price was over $100 cheaper.

I look the look of this hotel, but the mattress on the bed (which is supposed to be a king, but seemed smaller than my king at home) is super thin and not comfortable! The shower was average. We turned it into a spout for a bath and it would not turn back into a shower. Some of the facilities are old and need to get fixed up. The pool is not as nice as the picture. I never saw anyone by it. This is not a small child friendly hotel like I was mislead to think so. The staff did help us plan a daytrip to Venice, so that was great! it is also easy to find, right off of 2 autostradas.

Euroshock contributed greatly to our general disatisfaction...transportation was extremely overpriced ...would have done much better with a "Venice" innercity location...definitely not worth the price and the beds were very uncomfortable

Pleased with all aspects of the hotel except for the dining experience - food was good, but manager of the dining room was very rude and abrupt with my husband which upset him and made for unpleasant dinner. Therefore, did not eat dinner there again but went to local restaurants. Breakfast buffet was wonderful

There is no relibale connestions w/RR station and airport. Taxi reserved w/receptionist for Marco Polo airport happend to be a 24 seat bus (for only 2 of us!). And they charged for 11 km ride accordingly - 35 euro. Is it a scheme to rip off an American tourist?

la navette à 2,5 EUROS PAR PERSONNE plus cher que le bus et vaporetto avec forfait. parcours à pied pas approprié pour famille en bas age vers la station , car traffic routier et pas de trottoir par endroits. parking gratuit sauf celui gardé (6 euros)

ho scelto il Novotel in quanto suggerito da alcuni colleghi Veneti e dobbiamo ammettere che cio che cercavamo l'abbiamo trovato .Hotel con ogni confort ,stanza ampia ,pulite , ottimo il sevizio navetta per piazzale roma a Venezia ,gratuito e con piu corse . Inoltre la posizione dell'Hotel ci ha permesso di ripartire subito per la nostra vacanza itinerante .

Très propre, personnel disponible. Bus pour Venise à proximité immédiate, si pas de place dans la navette gratuite mise en place par l'hôtel. Attention: le chauffeur du bus ne vend pas de ticket.
