I picked this hotel because of the free parking, lower price and location to were I was going. I saved a lot with the free parking, but was uncomfortable with the room.The foam coffee cup in the room had teeth marks in it, the pillow case had stains, the comforter had hair all over it(maybe dog hair?). The bed in general was gross, so I slept in my clothes. I would not stay here again, but I guess the Oasis doesn't really care.

Everything was alright until our last night there. All of a sudden when my friend (who was travelling with me) went out to pick up take-out and returned, they pretended like they didn't recognize him and asked him to leave his Driver License at the desk. Then they called me and asked if i was expecting a "D---", intentionally using his last name as his first name and mispronouncing it (it's a simple one syllable name). when i found out they made him leave his ID at the desk (which is against the law), i called and demanded they give it back to him and sent him back down to get it. When he did, they threatened to "charge me for double occupancy", when i had rented the room specifying two people to begin with. i decided to see if they had some problem so first i asked and they said "no of course not". then i checked availability of a room there on hotels.com for the following day just to confirm it was available, and called the front desk to ask them if they had a room available for one or two more days. they lied "no, the last room just rented out." no, i wouldn't stay here again. who do these people think they are?

Overall the room was clean and it within walking distance to where we were going to that weekend. i would stay there again.

It was close to where I needed to be and there was free parking. Kinda hot in the room b/c I don't think the A/C worked and there wasn't a good airflow. The room smelled a little weird but overall it was good. There was a little vanity area that was nice because I had a spot to get ready while the boys watched TV. It also had an iron and ironing board that came in very handy. It was a little more than I would have liked to pay but I think that is just b/c it was SanFran. I would stay there again if the price was right and I was going back to the same place.

the Oasis inn was a great location for me and my family. i had booked two rooms for my family of 4 adults and 6 kids ranging from 1yr to 13yrs of age. i was impressed with the size of the rooms. there was even a little market that has everything you need for small children and free wifi in the room which you don't find in alot of places like this. i would get this room again if i had to stay in san francisco. just one thing there's no A/C but the weather there was so good that you didn't need to have it on.

Good value for the price. Clean Hotel with good "free" parking. No A/C in room and was a hot week here in the city. You need to leave the window open for cooling, but if you do you cannot hear the TV very well.

They say on the hotel description that there is an on-site restaurant, but there is no breakfast. I went back to the site to check, and they don't actually say they provide breakfast, but I was disappointed that it wasn't even available at an extra cost.

The exterior of the Hotel is some what plain, but the interior courtyard is very nice. The parking is very good and the room was very clean. I will stay here again.

From earlier reviews we thought we'd give this hotel a go. What a disgrace room 217 turned out to be. The carpets were sticky and filthy, cigarette burns were everywhere. The bed linen wasn't clean, the blankets were furry, and the place just looked distressed. The duty manager admitted this room was awaiting a refurb, and relocated us to 304 for our second night. This room seemed a lot cleaner, however, we found the following morning we'd been main course for a night time feast by the bed bugs. Unless you want to be disappointed greatly, give this place a miss.

This hotel has been an old standby of mine for years. It is older but comfortable and a good room for the money. However, the room I got this time had problems. It was missing carpet under the bed, was extremely dirty under the bed, and we saw a few cockroaches in the room. I hope they clean it up a little and do some pest control because I really do like staying there.

We got a cheap deal on this hotel for the 4th of July weekend that we really couldn't pass up. The hotel itself is old, but it's decent. Location was great as we had easy access to the bus system a block away, and we easily walked to Union Square, even with me being 8 months pregnant. Yes, we had to go through Tenderloin to get there, but we felt pretty safe as it was during the day. One of the best parts of this hotel was it does have free parking which is hard to find in SF, and the parking is gated. If you know what you're going into you won't be dissapointed.

Room was on street side, very warm and noisy, no AC, but then unusaly warm for San Francisco

I enjoyed my stay. Why? Because the location and the price were right! Older hotel, hot tub had not water in it. I liked the outdoor patio. Dirt on the walls but overall cleanliness was more than I expected from reading other posts. Free parking. Just make sure you walk toward VanNess and not up toward the tenderloin. I'll come back.

Hotel was clean. Not superfancy but is fine for a few nights. Room was clean and the bathroom was clean. Size of the room was adequate. Only bad thing was the cleaning lady threw out my prescription medication. Still trying to get reimbursed for the cost.

for what i paid during the cherry blossom festival i was suprised with the room it was clean and the staff was very helpful. only on small complaint the bed had a single dip in it where i think the springs were broken but it was very easy to get around it. overall i will go to this hotel again.

The staff was polite; however,the carpet and walls were old and soiled. I was afraid to touch the walls and I felt I had to check the bed "just in case". I didn't stay the second night due to the condition of the motel; for $20 more I could've had a much nicer motel.

I stayed here for 2 nights, best thing about it that covered parking is included. It's a tiny hotel, no frills at all, so if you need a place to sleep and that is it, it's perfect. Things to think about: 1. They say they have wireless, but it only worked outside my room in common areas, i.e. front desk area, near vending machines. 2. the heater is LOUD 3. the walls are pretty thin, you can hear a neighbor's tv if it's loud enough.

The hotel is not great but the location is good close to the civic center. The problem was the cleanliness of the bathroom and a vibration and a sound which come from a ventilation or something like that.

I spent many hours trying to find a hotel around the Union Square area that had both quality and affordability. Many of the places were relatively inexpensive, but the neighborhood (borders the Tenderloin) is not good, so apparently a majority of the hotels followed suit. But on the last day of my searches The Oasis appeared and it was an answer to prayer. The place is obviously old-school and had very little bells in whistles, but we were primarily using the place to get back and forth from our destinations (Union Square, dinner, Yoshi's). Because of it's close proximity we were actually able to walk everywhere. And we even walked back after midnight from Yoshi's (about 5 or 6 blocks) with no trouble. The room was clean and it comes with free wifi and free PARKING. Amazing.

For what I paid, it was average. The room was clean no complaints there, the bed was comfortable, the room was very quiet in general but I did hear my neighbors in the room next to us. The tv volume was a little low and not many channels. The hotel itself was pretty safe, there was underground gated parking with security, my SUV did fit and there was plenty of height clearance. The location was good, I was able to walk to a few fast food and restaurants, the movie theatre, pharmacy, coffee shop next door, and small liquor store. It was also within short driving distance of everything. Overall, for the price, I can't complain.

Oasis Inn is convenient to Civic Center, the Opera, Symphony, public transportation. The room comes with the basics: hair dryer, iron & board. It is basic and clean, with safe parking. The bath towels, though, could be larger, but this is a small detail.

Spent New Years eve here this year. Was no problems at all. Staff was very nice at check in and the hotel was better than expected for the price. The neighborhood was quite even though Franklin is a busy street. I will stay here again.

The Oasis Inn is an excellent and reasonable 2-star hotel located just off Van Ness in San Francisco and very near Civic Center and the Opera House. Although the rooms do not contain air conditioning, they are very clean and kept in good condition. Complimentary parking is a tremendous bargain but this feature contains a slight drawback. The hotel is located on the fringe of the Tenderloin District and the lot doesn't appear to have maximum security. Nonetheless, I would not hesitate to recommend the property.

Have stayed in different rooms in this hotel and apparently conditions differ. Everything was fine for this stay: everything clean, bathroom with newish commode, double shower curtain, etc. If there's one quibble, it would be that the channels available on the tv only went up to 31, and didn't include CNN. Other rooms in this same hotel have tv sets that have the channels going up to the 70s. So the hotel management needs to make all rooms have CNN as well as the channels beyond 31. Nevertheless, the hotel is very conveniently located near Civic Center, the symphony hall, opera house and several restaurants, and is a block off Van Ness and has easy access to 101 & 80 via the "new" Octavia Blvd.

I would not stay here. It's filthy, hasn't been renovated in years, and my bathroom wasn't even clean. I showered with my sandals on. You'll want to take a three hour shower, in a clean bathroom, after staying at this place.

The room itself is large with big windows that open onto Franklin St which is a busy one way st. but you can shut out most of the noise by shutting the window (the TV's volume is set not to go past a whisper so you have to close the window to hear). The carpets and old broken beds are filthy so we went and bought our own blankets for our stay. A lot of partying goes on in the hotel so it can get quite loud. We asked to move our room after our heavy metal neighbor's music had been roaring for 12 hours and the front desk put us in another room immediately, no fuss. The heaters were loud and the temp gauge didn't work so we had to turn it off to sleep. The location couldn't be better, close to everything but be careful the heart of the Tenderloin is a couple of blocks away. Parking is included in the price which is amazing considering where we were and what other hotel's charge. Water pressure was awesome. All in all our stay was fine but no luxury at all.

My stay at the oasis inn was a short one, but I am not likely to go back there. Although the place is fairly close to the city attractions, the Inn is flanked by busy streets on three sides. The sound of the traffic can be bothersome. Maintenance is another issue, the toilet flushing mechanism was broken and we had to wait for the maintenance man to come fix it. There was a muffin wrapper lying on our bed and the lid to the coffee maker was broken. The rooms are situated in a court yard fashion and you are able to hear the people downstairs. Unfortunately for me, a group of your intoxicated men decided to hang out and were out there past midnight. There were door slams and chairs being dragged over and above the profanity. The staff however were very helpful and friendly.

We only stayed here because every other hotel in town was booked during a convention. Our room was dirty, reeked of smoke. The shower in our room didn't work, and neither did the toilet. Most of the electrical plugs didn't work either, and we had no screen or drapes on our windows, so the morning was very bright and hot and loud (due to dump trucks directly outside of our window in the alley at 6am). Our bathroom flooded, and they refused to let us have a room with a working toilet, so we were forced to leave and go to a friends house. The experience was unbelieveably bad.

The Hotel was good for the price and location.Bad news is the SUV we were driving would not fit in the gated parking garage so we parked right by the lobby and our window was smashed. There are no cameras in the lot so if you drive an SUV that is over 6 feet tall beware, if its under that height then this is a great spot!

There was no hot water one day. Small bugs will come on your bed from no where, even though the windows are closed. I don't recomend this model to anyone.
