Best Western Atlantico - Madridas

Have to say was really pleasantly surprised that such a lovely hotel was such a reasonable price considering its central location. We were a bit lucky in that we were upgraded to a superior room. Terrace bar is very relaxing and we found the service there very good. Overall, if i go back to madrid I'll try to get a room here again.

The staff in the Hotel Atlantico were very helpful. My purse was stolen while on the Metro on the day we arrived in Madrid and the receptionist and bell captain were very helpful in providing forms, calling the police and translating what they were saying for us. The hotel itself was lovely. Very centrally located, everything was in walking distance. The terrace was a little haven in a busy city. I would not recommend a trip to Madrid or use of the metro there but I would recommend this hotel if you must travel there.

Hotel Atlantic was very central and right across the road from the metro station and shopping center. when we arrived early the first morning we were treated very well by the hotel staff. The room was spotless and well equipped. Bathroom was spacious, shower had good power.

The hotel staff and the rooms were great but if booking with the hotel itself it is very expensive for what you get. I got cheaper prices by booking online and was very satisfied with my stay. The staff gave great advice of what to see while in the area and made the stay even more worthwile!

The hotel was alright. The service was fine and the front desk people were very helpful. The breakfast room was nice and had a good breakfast for additional eight Euros. The hotel was also very close to shopping areas, but the area seemd to be the the bad part of town. The ladies of the night hostled in front and the side street of the hotel all night long.

Based on reviews I had read online, I had expected much more from this hotel. I found it to be much smaller than I anticipated with decor a little dated. Though, I would definitely recommend the hotel based on it's location, pricing and lovely rooftop bar.

Ten of us spent three nights over August Bank Holiday weekend at the Atlantico. The hotel is right in the heart of Madrid, we are all seasoned travellers and are accustomed to using public transport when on holiday but this time everywhere we wanted to go was walkable. We had booked five basic rooms but they said the hotel was very busy (it didn't appear to us to be so) and most of us were upgraded. We were all very happy with our rooms though some said theirs was on the small side. We were given a room adapted for disabled customers and it was fantastic, the bathroom was beautifully tiled with a great shower, bidet and specially adapted sink, the bathroom alone was bigger than some hotel bedrooms I have been in. We had no view from our window which initially we were a bit disappointed, however some of our friends who had front rooms said that on Friday and Saturday night the police sirens never stopped and revellers were in the street all night until 6.30 in the morning. So definitely ask for a courtyard view or take some good earplugs. The breakfast was good value if you like a hearty breakfast, lots of choice with a table set aside with sugar free alternatives. The staff were all very pleasant and more than willing to help, even with some impromptu Spanish lessons. All in all a very nice hotel offering excellent value for money in a great location for those looking to do the tourist Madrid - would definitely return and recommend.

Fantastic location,definitely recommend this hotel.The metro station is just outside.The bar on the 9th floor with a view of gran via is gorgeous. The room is a bit noisy from the traffic but still got a good nights sleep.

Hotel is right in the center of Madrid and in very close proximity to all the major attractions. Nice, clean, quiet rooms and great price. Only downside is that the bed was not very comfortable.

The location on Grand Via is good but if you want a quiet location this isn't the place for you...

The location can't be beat! Convenient to Parque Retiro, Plaza Mayor, Plaza del Sol, Plaza Espana, etc. etc. as well as Metro and bus. Add to that an excellent, friendly staff and very clean, well appointed rooms and you have a place for a great stay. Breakfast buffet was availablei n a very nice, bright room that overlooks Gran Via. The lounge on the 9th floor was a nice place to relax and have a drink. The lack of a resturant in the hotel wasn't an issue because there are a wide variety of restaurants at all price points available within a few steps of the hotel.

Hotel was very nice and confortable, specially the bathroom and bed.

The staff were very helpful, the room was clean, the bathroom massive. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, in the heart of Madrid on Gran Via. Our window was not on the main street so we could sleep well at night.

Family 4 day stay here in mid August - outside temp. was hot so returning to a nice air conditioned hotel and hotel room is a must and this hotel was 'cool' . Staff very friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a lovely relaxing lounge and outside terrace on the 9th floor - perfect to have a relaxing hour. Location is very central to attractions and shopping and Madrid metro (which is excellent by the way) has a stop just beside the hotel. We had rooms fronting onto to Gran Via but windows can be completely shuutered at night time so street noise wasn't a problem. Highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was excellent, staff were very helpful, the room was very comfortable. The lounge on the 9th floor was magnificent with views of Madrid and its surroundings.

The friendliness of staff, location, comfort of room, daily room cleaning and breakfast were all excelllent. The one negative is that, at the weekends, the street outside is noisy but this is probably the price you will have to pay in any of the hotels on the main streets. Nothing that earplugs or heading out for a few drinks yourself can't fix! I would definitely return here. Also the metro brings you from the airport to 100m from the hotel entrance.

Excellent hotel which is air conditioned and fully soundproof but right in the centre of the city....great bar on the 8th floor to relax. Service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly

This was a great location, right in the shopping district of Barcelona and very close to all the major sites, like El Museo del Prado, La Puerta del Sol, and el Palacio Real. The cafes nearby are also lovely!

Good location to access many of the sites. Good breakfast. Great view of city from roof-top terrace. Hotel is not plush or fancy but has everything you need and is very comfortable.

Staff is # 1 - especially front desk personnel. Rooftop cocktails are a must and only negative is off-site parking, but no one should drive in / to Madrid.

The Hotel Atlantico is a very, very good hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and completely renovated. Our room, big for Europe, with a balcony facing the Gran Via. The bathroom is modern and with an amazing shower. We would definitely stay there again.

If you are taking the complimentary shuttle from the Madrid airport please don't let the appearance of the shuttle fool you. The shuttle could use a little cleaning but the hotel is FABULOUS!!! They have a quaint rooftop lounge with really good drink prices, considering you are in Europe. Definely would visit Madrid and this hotel again!!!

I loved this hotel. The standard of the rooms and the service was excellent, and the ninth floor lounges and terrace area were stellar and a great feature. My room was excellent and there were a lot of little touches that made it special (I can't remember the last hotel I stayed in where the bed was turned down at night and chocolates were laid out for me!) Because it is on a very busy street I expected the hotel to be fairly noisy, but it was no worse than any other hotel. I had a room on the back which may have helped. The location is close to Sol and Plaza Mayor, and to Chueca. It is walking distance to the Prado and the Retiro and on major subway lines, The only reservation I would have about the area was the number of prostitutes working outside and nearby. I was propositioned every night and some of them were pretty pushy. If you were traveling with a family or a girlfriend/wife/spouse you might be bothered by that. Wi-fi is available on the first floor and the ninth floor - no password needed. Breakfast was 9 E a day extra and optional when I stayed there (July 2009) and consisted of a buffet with plenty of hot and cold food choices. It was worth it. All in all I was delighted by this choice and the hotel experience. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and they made my whole stay a pleasure.

Stayed in a beautiful room on the seventh floor looking out to Granvia. There was a little street noise but not enough to disturb you.The central position of the hotel makes it very easy to walk to the main sights..... a real bonus!. All the staff we encountered were extremely helpful. Don't miss a drink on the terrace on the ninth floor with a lovely view of Madrid. A memorable stay.

the hotel is in very good location but the hotel itself and the quality of the rooms and service is not a 4 star, I would give it a 2 star hotel. the breakfast food was not appealing at all, the food was cold, the coffee was cold. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good hotel, great location, staff was excellent. Decor a little feminine. Hotel did not have its own wifi so I had to find a signal elsewhere to use Skype on my iphone and avoid long distance charges, that would be a nice upgrade. Hotel his a neat lounge and deck on the top floor, a very nice feature.

This hotel is a great oasis in a large city. It is perfectly located between the Palacio Real and the Prado/museum area. There are convenient metro and bus stops steps from the front door. The staff is extrememly friendly and helpful. Our favorite part of this hotel is the large, modern bathroom with an amazing shower! I wish I had water pressure like that at home! We also enjoyed breakfast in the lovely dining room overlooking the Gran Via. For only 9 euros, it was a great value. If at all possible request a room on the 2nd floor (no waiting for the lift), with a view of the Gran Via. The rooms with two beds are actually larger and make for better sleeping. (Rm 206 would be perfect!) 207 and 208 are nice too. (We were able to look inside while passing during cleaning.) Thanks, Hotel Atlantico for a great stay!

We booked through hotels.com We were very satisfied with the room. However, we were dispappointed that breakfast sas NOT included in the hotels.com room rate. Most of the other guestss at the hotel had breakfast included in their room rate. I was told at the hotel that rooms booked through hotels.com never have breakfast included. I like using hotels.com However, from now on I will always check other websites, because some other sites do include breakfast.

great location, the style of the room was a bit dated and the air con was very loud but apart from that the hotel is a great location near metro and close to shops.

I booked through Hotels.com based on previous reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel was within walking distance to all major sights in Madrid. The room was very clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good value room in the heart of Madrid.

The hotel has everything going for it - lovely comfortable rooms, a roof top bar that serves free tea and coffee (and has the usual bar service), and a great location. I'll definitely stay here again if I go back to madrid.

Couldn't fault it.Felt breakfast a bit expensive but when we went elsewhere we found it to be very reasonable!

This hotel has a great location, able to walk everywhere. We were surprised to be upgraded to a beautiful room with a king sized bed. The room was very clean. The hotel staff was very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

The Atlantico is in a great location and I experienced wonderful service. The room was adequate, if not larger than some European hotels and it is clean. A bonus is the upper floor which is dedicated to a bar and nicely appointed lounge areas - also an outdoor roof area to enjoy your cocktail.

This hotel was disappointing. In the room, they have marketing materials that say it's a 4-star and a 3-star. Personally, this is 3-star all the way. You have to hunt in the drawers to find the laundry bag and do not disturb sign. While they have breakfast buffet service, there is no actual restaurant on the premises! Instead, they have a "cafeteria", which is a lounge area you can sit in by yourself with no food or drink (or service). I thought there was room service, but I found no room service info in the room (probably because there is no restaurant!). Really disappointing when you arrive at midnight. While the location is great and convenient to walk to major neighborhoods/sites, there are many other hotels around. Come here for a 3-star, not 4-star experience.

We were pleasantly surprised on all counts. We arrived around 9 a.m. and a room was ready for us in 15 minutes, way before official check-in and an upgrade to superior as well. The room was immaculate, completely renovated, huge for Europe, with a balcony on the Gran Via and free hi-speed internet. At night, with the windows closed it was almost silent, despite the loud traffic all night. Service was excellent and the staff spoke many languages. I would stay there again.

The Atlantico is a splendid hotel, ideally placed in the heart of Madrid. It is only a 25 minute taxi journey from the airport and the location on Gran Via next to Callao metro station meant that all attractions could be reached simply and quickly. We were able to find plenty of good restaurants and bars in the vicinity of the hotel. Although Gran Via is the major thoroughfare in Madrid's centre, the rooms had good soundproofing, which meant a good night's sleep for both of us. The hotel amenities were very good, especially the good value buffet breakfast and great terrace bar. We had a superior room and would rate it as the very best of any 4 star hotel we've stayed in.

Great for a short stay in Madrid. It was right on the "hop on - hop off" tourist bus route so it was very easy to access all the city sights and museums. The room was a bit small - but overall, quiet and comfortable.

My wife and I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Room we got was tiny but judging from the fire escape plan it was the standard size. Our window was overlooking smaller of the internal courtyards with very low natural lighting. AC units were loud and once the window was opened it was impossible to sleep due to the noise from the AC outlets. Bed wasn't either comfortable or big. Walls in the hotel are not properly insulated for noise as we could hear every word of the phone conversation our neighbour had at 7am. There was 20 cm gap between the floor and underside of the bed and you could see bundles of dust on the floor. On the up side hotel has great location.

Hotel is very central for getting about. Staff was very helpful and pleasent. View of Madrid from the lounge was superb. My friends and I had a wonderful time and will recommond this Hotel to our friends. ps recommend the breakfast good value for money the only drawback the double room was on the small size.

couldnt fault anything with hotel. was noisy but earplugs solved that and had to be expected being on such a busy road

This hotel is in a great location. You are within easy walking distance of Puerto Del Sol and Plaza de Mayor. There are two subway stops very near the hotel for reaching any other areas. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself. We had booked at a very reasonable rate, and when we found the room too small and closed in, the front desk moved us to another much nicer one in minutes at no extra charge. The free hotel shuttle from the airport saves you quite a bit, as well. It does only pick up from one terminal though, so be sure to check which one. Breakfast was just OK, but so convenient that we ended up eating there each morning. The top floor lounge and terrace were great spots for a drink and delicious Spanish olives. Carmen, the "bartender", was a delight.

We stayed a single night while travelling by train from London to Fes, Morocco. The staff were very helpful and the room comfortable. The location is great too, a 15 minute walk from nearly everywhere.

The hotel is well mainteined, is an old building but with lot of improvements to catch the pass of the time.

This hotel met every expectation we had. The location was perfect for walking to all sights and we felt very safe here. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever needed.
