Universal's Loews Royal Pacific Resort - Orlandas

Overall, I would say it was excellent. My only complaint that I have is being a single mom with a college student daughter, I was given a room that was farthest away from elevator. (second time it happened) Can't help but feel that if I were a man traveling with my family, I would have gotten a better room.

Not only a beautiful hotel with superior service but the ability to use your room key as a fast pass at both Universal Parks made the package exceptional.

Very clean and close to parks....My kids and I loved it!! We would stay again...

The best was just showing your room card to go on any ride with virtually no line and you could go on the same ride again skipping the line as many times as you want and both parks. If you buy the express pass you can only go one time on any ride and only one park unless you buy a 2 park express pass. 1st day we spent it at the parks so never saw the room until dark. Next day we checked out at 11am from the hotel and the hotel let us stay all afternoon enjoying the pool so it was great.

The hotel staff was extremely nice. The perfect place to stay if your going to visit universal and or city walk. The best place I believe I have ever stayed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the service at the hotel. I was a bit disappointed in the amenities: no in-room robes, hair dryers, DVD players, etc. I loved the toddler room in the Island dining room and felt quite at home with my 2 1/2 yr old. My main complaint is that a heated pool in the summer in Florida is NOT refreshing, at all. I was miserably hot coming from Universal and we got in the pool about 4 pm and it was as hot as the air temperature.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Royal Pacific. It was perfect if you were going to visit the theme park. They also have a great Emeril's Restaurant inside the hotel.

My husband loved the coffee and coffee maker in the room. The Tchop Chop restaurant at the hotel was so superb we we had dinner there both nights. We enjoyed the hotel pool so much we never bothered going to the park. We truly felt like we were in the south pacific.

You can't beat the location for a very short walk to both parks at Universal and City Walk. Literally - 5 minutes to get to both along a lovely landscaped walking path. Pool and lagoon area was very nice - good service there but beware of high prices. Front desk service was excellent as well as luggage handling and knowledge of local attractions. Maid service was poor - one day our room was not serviced at all. None of our maids spoke English and they didn't seem to understand when we asked to have our room cleaned. They brought towels and then disappeared. For this price - I expect to have the room cleaned daily. Our room was incredibly quiet - comfortable - not extremely large but enough room for us. Hotel restaurant was OK - we didn't eat at Emiril's restaurant which I've heard is great. Fast passes are wonderful - we literally walked up to several of the rides and you can use them on everything. Overall - good experience - you're paying for the location - and for families who want to go back and forth to park and hotel - this is the way to go

This hotel was beautiful. It was clean and very comfortable. Every single staff member we dealt with was super nice and helpful. They have a water taxi that is free of charge that takes you to the two other hotels they own and to the parks and City Walk. We did not bring our children with us this time but I would in the future. They had great pools for kids and adults. If you didn't want to be in the large pool with kids then you could take the taxi to one of the other hotels for an adult only pool. The pool was so large anyways that it really didn't matter. I never noticed the kids. I will definulty stay at this hotel again if ever in Orlando.

The property is best suited for family stays or with pets. Food very good but pricey. Most of the facility's money is put into public spaces. The rooms are disappointing but adequate. A bit off the beaten path compared to nearby properties and secluded. Nice for young couples or business meetings. good value for the price. I wouldn't pay more.

The casual restaurant did not meet expectations. Emeril's restaurant had good service, but the food did not quite match it and was expensive. There are many other restaurants in the area.

The hotel is gorgeous. Even though you are in the middle of Orlando, you feel like you are in special pacific retreat. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The kids loved the pool. The river walk to Universal and Adventure Island was such a nice walk that we never even used the boats that also bring you to the parks. The Express card you get by staying at the hotel was great - lets you avoid long lines during popular times.

Its one of my most favorite places to be! This hotel is comfortable and perfect for a family getaway.

Excellent hotel for Universal. The express pass was great and made things so much quicker and more convenient - not to mention the fact that it's a five minute walk to the park if you choose not to take the water taxi. That alone was worth the stay. The staff was very attentive, the room was good sized and extremely comfortable and clean, food was great, and the pool was huge. It is definitely a family hotel - there were kids everywhere, but that in no way detracted from the experience for my husband and I. I would stay here again and recommend to a friend.

wonderful venue. the room key functions as an express pass for the universal theme parks which is worth a great deal. facility, service are wonderful.

The lobby and drive up to the hotel were beautiful. Beware of the self-parking - it's expensive and there were no spots and we had to park on the side of the driveway. Also, there is no entrance to the hotel near the parking, so you have a long walk. I called to specifically request the sheets be changed and they did not change them. It took over 30 min. for someone to come change the sheets, after I had to call them again. Overall a beautiful hotel, but could have provided better service and parking.

We had two adjoining rooms. Great place to stay just so that you get express pass on the all the park attractions. I would recommend.

Family oriented. Great access to UNiversal.

Our family of three vacations 2-3 times per year. When in Orlando, we typically stay on Disney property. We decided to do something new this trip and were disappointed. All of our issues were minor, however, how often do you want to call the desk because something is wrong! The hotel offers turn down service, which we requested. I believe we received it three eves of our six eve stay. The hotel was very quiet, so no reason to wait for maid service. One afternoon we returned from the park around 3 pm and our room had not been serviced. We were heading back out to the pool, so it was not an inconvenience just another call! A pay per view movie we purchased had a bad static feed, another call for a credit. The hotel had internet access through the television, which I thought would be great to get my boarding pass early in the morning online for Southwest. I purchased the service, logged on at 7:30 am but some of the letter keys did not work - no online check-in! Out of bed, throw on clothes, drag myself down to the concierge and another stop at the front desk for a credit on the internet service! On the three days we went to the pool in the afternoon, there was no wait staff circulating. They hung at the bar and we were never offered a drink. However, we were automatically charged an 18% gratuity when we got our own drink. I know the gratuity has become a standard with many resorts but offer some service to earn it! The express line is automatic at the parks when staying at a Universal property hotel, which is nice. The property transportation is convenient and less than $10 to take a taxi to International Drive for malls and water parks, etc.

Check in was unbearably long and protracted, with two couples butting in line. Despite the protests of those in line, the front desk personnel proceeded to check them in slowly). The best aspect of this hotel was the convenience to IOA and US, as well as the fast pass for all attractions. The latter alone was worth the stay. Kids enjoyed the hotel and pool area. Gym is first-rate. Parking is huge.

the hotel is really fun, luxurious feeling but informal and comfortable, and convenient to the parks. The room was large enough and well appointed. Parking was a "hidden" charge that I did not appreciate (a really low class add-on IMO). The hotel personnel was outstanding at every turn. This hotel was comparable in every way to the other two, even more expensive at Universal.

We love Royal Pacific and will stay there again and again. Your room key as a fast pass into the rides to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure is worth the room rate. Next time, I'll make sure that we're not in the pet friendly tower. A barking dog at 4:00 AM is not pleasing.

High standard of hotel if a bit pricey. Makes getting to the Universal theme parks easy - short boat ride from the hotel's private landing and you are there - no driving - no trying to find your car afterwards in the car park!! Pool is well serviced and large - great for kids Service in the bar (Jakes Bar) was poor - we actually left as no one seemed tocare to serve us. However service elsewhere was good. Also you can buy park tickets in the hotel making the whole expereince easy.

Pros: Great rooms, nice facilities and grounds, excellent health club with top of the line equipment. Fast Pass to all Universal and I of A attractions is a top reason to consider this property. Cons: Emeril's Tchoup Chop restaurant is overpriced, noisy and underwhelming (simply go elsewhere). The check-in process was excruciatingly slow (fortunately there is express checkout) I'd happily go back, but I'd avoid the Tchoup Chop.

This place was great. The fast pass included on your room key was great to have at the parks. Only thing I suggest is waiting until you get to the park or outside of the hotel. Meals at the hotels were a little pricey.

Was very impressed with the hotel overall, they had a very good selection of places to eat & drink. The pool area was great and had some great activities for the kids. The water taxis to city walk and to the parks were so handy, but the walk to the parks only took 5 minutes. The hotel is a dog friendly hotel, which I was not aware of and the dogs are kept on the first floor so just to be aware of that when booking as you may get a few dogs barking at night, there where dogs in the room close to us but they did not disturb us. Overall the hotel is fantastic. I would recommend it to family or friends anyday.

Large hotel with plenty of activities.Handy for universal Parks.Room was a bit small but clean & comfy & quiet. Water taxi is available to take guests to City Walk. Would stay there again.

GREAT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE PAID, ALSO THE EXPRESS PASS YOU GET BY STAYING AT A UNIVERSAL HOTEL IS WORTH THE PRICE ALONE. YOU ARE ALSO A FIVE MINUTE WALK TO THE PARK OR YOU CAN USE THE WATER TAXI WHICH IS ALSO GREAT AFTER A LONG DAY IN THE PARKS.

This is very beautifull place, very convenient to any parks, airoport, and bus station. Good restaurants and delicious food. Excellent service. I rendomly pick out this hotel on-line, and completely satisfied by everything

The hotel was very beautiful and clean. We found things to be quite expensive and we were surprised to learn upon arrival that there was a daily charge for parking. Hotel was quite accomamdating to families while we were there due to Tropical storm Fay. Extra buffets and activities for children were planned. Overall things were fine.

I felt that everything was lovely. I really enjoyed the king bed that felt like you were on a cloud. I would definately recommend to someone.

Took 3 phone calls and one hour of waiting to get a hair dryer, which is normally provided with the room, delivered to the room.

Great hotel. Using your room key as an express pass in the theme park was so convenient. Extremely nice hotel.

The architecture, decor, and ambiance created for the hotel really did a great job of taking you to the South Pacific during another era.

Everyone went out of there way to make it a great stay!

We loved the hotel, we are thinking about coming back in August, we had a lot of fun! Great customer service!

All of the reviews on Hotels.com were spot on. The hotel was very nice, great pool, The lobby was very nice. Nice choice of restaurants. The Pool side Bulla grill was excellent for lunch time salads and sandwiches. Convenience to the parks was exceptional. We enjoyed taking the 5 minute stroll from the hotel to the parks and City walk. Using your key as fast passes are sooooo worth it. I felt like a v.i.p. going to the front of the line while people were waiting over 45 minutes in 94 degree weather. Would not have been able to do this with 2 children in tow. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable. You have the ability to pool hop, so we went over to the hard rock one day to hang out. Would stay there again IF I was doing the Universal thing.
