Disney's Grand Californian - On Disneyland Resort Property - Anahaimas

We always stay here as it is the best of the Disney properties. The rooms are a bit dark and on the small side, but the public areas are gorgeous and the pool area equally lovely. This last visit there was a strike and the housekeeping was not up to the usual standards. It is still my favorite, however.

I can't compare it with the other Disney properties but this hotel was great. A bit pricey (it's Disneyland after all) but if location, location, location means anything, this is the place.

This was our 6th time staying at Disney's Grand Californian and it was all that we expected. One positive change from the last time we stayed is that they took out the minibar (which I always had electronically locked) and replaced it with an empty refrigerator. Loved the free wifi, excellent housekeeping and convenient location. Will definitely stay here again if the price isn't too high - it is worth it.

The Grand Cali is the best way to spend a perfect vacation at disneyland, hands down. It's elegant warm atmosphere combined with the convenience of it's location along with all the amenities provided right on site cannot be matched anywhere in aneheim.

Nice to have room so close, the room was nice and comfortable, but had a hard time checking in. Was told at 11 a.m the room would be ready close to 3. After calling at 2:30, 3:00 and 3:25 from the park,we were told it would be a few more minutes. Ended up sitting in lobby for 45 minutes and after complaining finally got a room by 4:30. The room had been rushed through to be cleaned. We had dinner plans at 5, and didn't make it on time because of late check in. It was frustrating. The rest of the stay was fun though, love being close to both parks and Disney Walk.

Walk to Downtown Disney or either of the parks in just minutes. The hotel itself is comfortable and classy- and well worth the price.

This place was BEAUTIFUL!! I loved being so close to the entrance of the park. I did expect my room to be a LOT bigger (I got the concierge suite), but the Craftsman Club you get access to makes it worth it!! My only real complaint was we put up the do not disturb sign when we went out so they wouldn't move stuff around that we needed, and they went in and cleaned it anyway. That bothered me. Other than that, it was SO amazing!!

friendly staff, the room was above and beyond our expectations. Close to all. Have a great time

The hotel was amazing, they really did a great job with the theme. the one draw back was how long it took for my car to get brought back when we went to leave. SO if you use valet, make sure you call ahead of time or be ok with waiting for 20 minutes to get your car.

We cked in early at 7 am and would have thought our room would be one of the first to be ready. We enjoyed the park and room was still not ready after 400 They gave us a room facing construction that was ready but very sub par as view was literally of a construction site and noise from construction began at 6 am

Our whole family loved it. All the employees that we met were wonderful. The kids really enjoyed the character breakfast and downtown disney too. We all want to stay here everytime we go to disneyland or California Adventure. We are going to get annual pass now that we know where to stay

Having stayed here a number of times, I would say this hotel (and Disney's operation in general) is reflecting hard economic times. Insufficient staff at the desk, less training, longer lines, less friendly park attendants ...

THE HOTEL IS GREAT AND IT VERY CLOSE TO THE PARKS AND DOWNTOWN DISNEY AND THE ROOM IS VERY CLEAN AND WELL KEPT. IF I GO TO DISNEY I WILL STAY THEIR AGAIN.

I got this room using my welcome rewards, So I only had to pay taxes ont he room. It was fantastic. The pool could have been a bit warmer, but the staff was amazing, We got turn down service, and you have a private access to Disney's California Adventure, as well as a walkway to Downtown Disney. You are right in the middle of everything it was great! My only complaint was that when we went to leave it took about 20 minutes for the valet to bring back my car. Other then that we were in awe of all the little details and the craftsmen style of the hotel was amazing!

The hotel is in the perfect location. It's just a short walk to both theme parks. It's also a fun place in its own right, with two water slides, one for older kids and one for younger ones. We had a wonderful time.

It so very nice to walk right out into the California Adventures.

We paid half-price for an incredible room in the main building. It had a King bed and sofa-bed. The bathroom was nice with a deep soaking tub for two people, which is great to soak, but you needed to high-step it in and out, not for the elderly. The room had it's own balcony. The view was of the new wing being constructed. It was hidden behind green tarps on the surrounding scaffolding. Since we were in the parks for the entire day, I can't say it bothered me. The location is incredible. Walking to either park or coming back at the end of the night, it's just so nice to have the hotel so close. We didn't eat at any of the restaurants, but I did use the gym, which was acceptable. The attached spa had a locker room with showers, sauna and steamroom. A nice added touch. I didn't utilize any of the spa services, but from the few treatment rooms I saw open, the decor looked nice and relaxing. The pool looked great, but it was too cold to use it while we were there. At half the price, I think it was well worth it. At full price...it really depends on how much of the Disney magic you need versus the total cost and budget of your vacation.

When we arrived we had to wait 2 hours for a room to be ready (due to over-booking). The first room we were placed in was over a roof top and beneath a leaking air conditioner unit. We then were able to switch later, but still were not able to get a king bed as requested. There rooms were very dark and basic. Equivalent to a "Holiday Inn' at the very best. We were so dissatisfied that we ended up leaving at midnight and just drove back home.

We've stayed here before and as always, a great time in a great hotel. The rooms are a bit small for the price but then, it is a Disney on-site property.... Room rate is the BEST thru Hotels.com.

We're two busy parents who wanted a nice romantic getaway at a decent price, and were thrilled with our stay at Disney's Grand Californian. Even though it's geared toward families, this magnificent hotel was just perfect. The staff is spectacular, from the reception people and valets to the ladies who take care of the rooms. Everyone called us by name and treated us like genuine guests. They went out of their way to be helpful and were always genuine about it; never pushy. We never felt like we were being hurried or that our pockets were being picked. We have already recommended this hotel to friends and that they book through this site, which got us the best rate.

The hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are great. Beautifully furnished. The pools were very nice. Kids liked the water slide very much. The location was very convenient-- just a short walk to downtown Disney and the 2 theme parks. Service was excellent. A very enjoyable stay.

This hotel is truley beautiful. The landscaping lucious, the ambiance a classy rustic. So comfortable and enjoyable where ever you would roam. Our room faced the open lobby and each night we'd crack our door until 9pm so we could hear the piano playing below (mostly disney songs keeping us in the spirit) which was such a magical touch. Very family and kid friendly here. Customer service was spot on and tips were easy to hand out. The pools were warm and we swam in February which is off season and not crowded yet staff was plentiful and there were even 3 lifeguards on duty. The lounge chairs (seems like a minor thing) were amazingly comfortable and I sat in the sunshine many times. Seriously I will be talking about these chairs for years to come. Resturants were convenient to say the least, food was 'good', character breakfast fun. The down side was the cost. Extremely expensive but we knew that going into this vacation. We found it a little cheaper to eat at downtown Disney every now and again. Spa was amazing but also on the high side (again we knew that going into this vacation) but we had to try it. My husband and I were the only ones there on a Tues. night and it was so very peaceful. Maid services was ALWAYS prompt/consistant and we loved the 6pm turn down service with Disney chocolates. Room service was always prompt and they even went above and beyond when my little one was sick and brought up a special soup. Albertson's Delivery: I ordered a few staples for the week as we traveled with young children. The service was right on with the time they delivered down to the products I ordered. PERFECT!! The hotel let us know when they were in the lobby, we went down and they brought up the food and put it in our room. Toiletries in the room are from the spa and are very nice. I loved the body butter and conditioner. I wish this hotel was a little more affordable so I could go more often. But such a treat and can't wait to go back. The convenience of it all

This is our 4th stay at the grand. We love the location but it is pricey. It was good as we brought teenage children and they loved the shopping

I took the family to celebrate a birthday at Disneyland park. The hotel was very convenient - only a 5 minute walk to the park! Staff was friendly since we arrived...excellent customer service. The price was a bit high but it was worth it.The room also has an MP3 player, a BOSE system, DVD and flat tv (my daughters just loved it!!!)

Clean with great attention to detail. Just what you expect from Disney.

Their sevice was excellent. I was able to rent an electric cart vehicle to get around Disneyland at the hotel and I could use it anywhere in the resort.

Expensive but a great place for a SPECIAL EVENING or a GREAT DISNEY VACATION!!

We spent a couple nights here, with our three-year-old son, and had a really good time. We're a bit tired (there's a lot of walking involved in a Disneyland resort vacation) but overall it was terrific. We really enjoyed the proximity of the parks to the hotel, and appreciated the child-friendliness of the facilities. In particular, we liked the hotel's pools, and I thought it was great that they have swim vests (flotation devices) for the little ones. It added extra security to our swimming experience. I also highly recommend the character breakfast at the Storyteller's Cafe. The food is great, and it was really fun for our son. We went to the Minnie and Friends breakfast in the park as well, which featured more well-known characters (the Storyteller's Cafe had more secondary characters involved), but the interaction at Storyteller's was more involved and the food was better too.

The view was worth the extrea cash it was breath taking.

The staff at GCH were amazing, they truly carried out the Disney reputation of being friendly and wanting to ensure that their guests have an amazing visit. We did have a problem with our first room (it was not clean, had a bad odor), but a quick call to the front desk had us into another room very quickly. The proximity to Downtown Disney and to Disney's California Adventure Park are great, especially if you get drenched on Grizzly River Rapids (we did!). The price is a bit steep, but if you can swing it this is a great property.

For the price of this hotel I expected more. The room was very small for the price. Everything is very expensive. Drinks, phone calls are a rip off. Made reervation for Sunday brunch. We get there and are told it's not a resevation, it's priority seating. Had to wait 30 mins. Then get a 4 person table for 8 of us. Had to wait for another table. Found a metal washer in my food. Bar service Sunday morning was a joke. A very long wait and they don't know what they can and can't sell.

One of the best hotel lobby's I have seen. Main building was incredible. Room was very spacious with a great view of the park.
