Aside from the twin beds--apparently all the rooms have twin beds, and ours were rather hard and not very comfy--it was great. We wanted a base to explore the city and this was a good spot, with easy access to the subway, La Rambla, the gothic quarter and etc.

It was cheap and close to the metro, and that's it. The elevator didn't work so we had to lug our bags up and down stairs with NO help from the staff. The electricity went out about every 30 minutes, so we were left in the dark. Also, every question we asked was answered with, "I don't know, look it up on the computer." Very happy we were only there for 2 nights.

location is EXCELLENT walking distance from Las Ramblas & only a few minutes from the Port if you're taking or returning from a cruise. the taxi from the airport was 30 euro & from the port was about 10 euro. there are countless restaurants within walking distance, with outside/inside seating. the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. i had trouble connecting to the WIFI & they spent about 20 minutes helping me connect. they also reserved a cab that accepted credit cards for my morning commute to the airport. the rooms have a mini bar with cokes, water, alcoholic beverages and a few snacks ranging from 1.75 euro to 5 euro. they even had a converter for my laptop at the front desk. (110 A/C) the walls are VERY thin & you WILL hear EVERYTHING that happens in the hallway or the adjoining rooms. i DO NOT recommend light sleepers book here. (i was on an aircraft carrier for 8 months, so it didn't bother me) there was also a very loud compressor that ran for 30 seconds every 20-30 minutes all night long. (near room 116) i was soo exhausted from my cruise, it didn't bother me.

The hotel was undergoing construction in late April and this was somewhat disturbing. Also, the rooms were ok, but had a somewhat dingy feel to it. There was no air-conditioning in the hotel at that time (the manager told me that "its not hot or cold right now so we switched it off") -- if it were there I would definitely want the room to be cooler but it wasn't too uncomfortable either way. Also, the location was good, but the walk to La Rambla was not too short and through a particularly rundown neighborhood which wasn't very pleasant to walk through. Bottomline is that I would try to find a better hotel next time for this price, but this one will work if you only want a place to sleep and bath for a couple of days...

The hotel is well located 2 min walk from the Parellel metro (5 day pass 20euro all transport). There is free internet at reception, or wireless from own laptops (you need to ask reception for password). Staff's english varies but all very helpful and have knowledge of area/transport. Towels (not very big) and basic toiletries provided. Rooms serviced everyday, no view really as in middle of town. Is a 5 minute (upward) walk towards the rear of the palace grounds which also go to the Olympic Grounds. Very nice deli just round corner with a Carrefour supermarket also. Pizza hut and KFC round corner, but both quite expensive. Bread from deli and fruit and water from shop very cheap in comparison and there is a fridge in the room.

We recently spent four days at the Hotel Paral-lel and had a wonderful holiday. The only thing missing in the Hotel was a hairdryer! Even had free internet access which proved to be invaluable since we had problems with our mobile phone. The staff were extremely friendly and we found the hotel to be in an excellent location - despite reports we'd read by other travellers - 10 minutes' walk to either the Port or La Ramblas. Certainly the Hotel is in an area with a very diverse cross section of the population - there are lots of cafes, restaurants and Asian shops, and there are also one or two strip clubs - but we absolutely did not feel threatened or unsafe. The local police station is in the same street as one of the strip clubs and this is also the street which leads you directly to La Ramblas. We used this route day and night and it is always very busy with lots of people around, including families, and with elderly people sitting in the small squares. Paral-lel Metro is 2 minutes' walk from the Hotel and from here you can catch the funicular to Montjuic and then a gondola up to the Castle - not to be missed!

The price was right for this hotel. It's about a 2 min walk to the metro and only 3 stops from the center of Barcelona. It is very noisy though. If you are looking for a place to rest, this is not it. You can hear everything in the hotel and especially the loud cars, motorbikes, and people outside almost all night. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I felt safe in the room but was a little aprehensive about the neighborhood. Don't go to the indian/swarmi place across the street. awful food. about 30 minute and 30 euro taxi ride from airport. can take bus then metro but difficult if have more than one small piece of luggage. Very clean.

This was an ok place to stay. It had all we needed except a hairdryer. It was basic but absoulutley fine to use as a base for a city break. It was clean and the staff seemed friendly and polite. There's not much else to say about it.

The hotel was modern, very clean with friendly helpful staff. The location was slightly out but was only less than 10 mins walk to la ramblas and the location saved money on the hotel price. The mini bar was well stocked and clearly priced, the only fault I could find was there were no brew making facilities in the room. I travelled in a group of 8 who all enjoyed staying in this hotel.

Stayed before and after the cruise trip which is very close to cruise port and walking or metro walking distance. personnel are very friendly on giving directions. Hotel is clean, for the price I definetly recommend it to people on budget.

The Hotel is well kept and was convenient for our boarding a Cruise Ship. We only spent one night, but was satisfied with the service and location. Within reasonable walking distance to sights located downtown by the harbor.

This was a clean hotel, with wonderful and friendly service. I would definitely stay there again next time.

extremely clean and very very helpful polite and friendly staff. i only stayed one night so cant really comment too much but have not stayed in a hotel this well maintained for years.

hotel very well situated for sightseeing , las ramblas only a couple of stops away from metro station paralel nearby. and from paralel metro u can get a cable car to the top of montjuic for great views of the city sheets were changed everyday nice and clean , room bit on the small side but it served its purpose. cable tv practically all in spanish apart from sky news only problem is hotel lies back on to the main road so if u got a room at the back like i had its a bit noisy at night with traffic and that but staff seemed ok for a budget hotel practically right in the centre of barcelona yeh id say it was good value

This was a good deal in a city where well-located hotels can be pricey even if they are shoddy. This was a clean place with a decent size bathroom of Avenue Parallel, just one metro stop away from La Rambla. It was quiet, too. Free wifi in the room was nice, and the a/c worked fine, which is good in Spain in summer. Avoided the breakfast room to save money and just went out for croissants or churros with coffee.

The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly but overall i found it too expensive for what it offered.

This hotel is near about one block around the corner of the Parralel train station. The actual hotel would be recommended if you just need to keep your belongings somewhere safe while you party somewhere else...perhaps Las Ramblas or just take the train station anywhere else you want to go. Very standard hotel with standard accommodations. You have two semi-twin beds pushed together, which make about a "regular sized" twin like at any European hotel. Your basics setup: beds, tv, small closet with a safe for your belongings, in the bathroom: toilet, a bidet, a bathtub with shower head. That's all you basically need....I don't think you'll be in the hotel if your going to explore Barcelona. Oh yeah: Thin walls...and I do mean t--h--i--n! My wife and I traveled with friends of ours, another couple, and they were in the room next to us and we could hear them talking to us through the walls. Yes, it is that thin. If you want to do it, do it very quietly. Unless, you aren't shy and like an audience. Also, if you are trying to get sleep here, you'll hear the party people in the hallways coming in at 4-6am all morning...so be aware of that. The area surrounding the hotel seemed pretty safe...there were people out relaxing and didn't bother anyone. You need to check your email?...You're in the right place...free internet service in the small computer in the lobby. Pretty basic hotel....but pretty steep price... but I'm from America so everything is expensive for me because the US dollar is only worth less than euros. But the hotel is OK...I might stay here, if more people were sharing the room...then the price wouldn't feel so bad....

Not situated in the most scenic part of Barcelona but a good, clean, conveniently located hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were large, clean and very well equipped. Happy to recomend this place.

This was a good clean hotel in a good location. Only 2 blocks from the metro. Only downside was no hairdryer. I wanted a clean safe hotel needed for sleeping only and this was perfect.

it was a great hotel for location and service. the lobby is small and my single room was tiny but it did have a lovely balcony. the staff really made it a great place to be and it was so convienent to the metro/downtown area.

Had lots of trouble finding an available (and affordable) room on short notice for three people. Assumed that there would be something wrong with this place, but there WASN'T!! Clean, spacious room. Friendly, helpful staff. Only about a 10 minute walk to La Rambla. Overall very good experience. PS - take the segway tour... TONS OF FUN!

November 2007. 13 of us, family and friends. We stayed two 2 1/2 days before our Med Cruise and a day on our way back. Near the cruise docks. 18 to 25 Euro dollars from the airport (depending on the day and traffic). Hotel and rooms are very clean and maintained well. Front desk staff were helpfull, cleaning staff were cheerful. Cleaning staff helped us with our metro and bus navigation needs and land tours. Staff understands English. Internet in the lobby and it works. Euro coins readily available at the front desk for your lobby phone needs. Continental breakfast has a large choice, however, we forgot it will cost us 8 Euro dollars per person. Convenience is worth it. Thin walls though, hard to sleep from all night revelers on our last day. Overall: For the price, we had a pleasant stay and the location is great as a jumpboard for land tours and I recommend this hotel to group travelers on their way to Med Cruise.

hotel was clean but reeking with cigarette smoke.

Room air conditioner was not working, resulting in very uncomfortable temperature. We reported this to the hotel manager and he told us they were going to fix it, but no action was taken. Room size was so small that it could hardly fit two single beds, and there was no space to put an arm chair.

This hotel is very conveniently located just a few minutes walk from La Rambla. The rooms are huge and very clean. If you're a business person or a budget traveller who just wants clean, safe accomodations than this is a good bet. However, if you're looking for romance, look elsewhere. They only have twin beds so if you are with your spouse or significant other, you have to push them together and someone usually will end up sleeping the in the hole. The towels are tiny and thin, the toiletries are minimal and the hotel has no amenities to speak of. Nonetheless, the price is terrific, there are plenty of restaurants right out side your door and the staff is friendly. This hotel is a good base for a Barcelona adventure but don't book this for a romantic getaway because that's not what this hotel is about.

God og venlig service. Hotellet ligger virkeligt centralt i forhold til metro (2 min.), indkøb (2 min.) og hyggelige lokale restauranter (1 min). Rengøringen på ens værelse er helt suveræn - man kan ikke finde noget i hjørnerne! Selvfølgelig er det ikke Hotel Hilton, men det er helt ok til prisen. Morgenmaden er virkelig god, men måske lidt dyr. Absolut anbefalelsesværdigt hotel.

Väldigt trevlig personal som gärna hjälper till. Rumen var helt okej, om man tänker på priset så var det mer än förväntat. Det fanns tv och en minikyl, dock bara en engelsk kanal. Det tar drygt 5 minuter att gå till La Ramblas.

L'hotel super tranquile, la consigne gratuite pour le jour du départ. les hôtes très agréable et serviable. La clé reste à l'hotel un tracas en moins. Nous sommes parties à deux dans le but de visiter barcelone, les trois premiers jours pas besoins de tickets à un quart d'heure à pied du port et de la rambla. Le metro paral.lel vous emmène directement à montjuic (funiculaire) et à la sagrada familia , à la gare sants à la place espanya, catalunya. N'hésitez pas à prendre le bus qui vous emmène à pleins d'endroit notamment au monastère de prédalbes. On était super ravies, à coté des petits resos où l'on peut trouver des plats à moins de 5€. Petits conseils: trouvez vous vite un endroit pour acheter de l'eau car vous en consommer beaucoups et c'est assez cher (1.5€ la 50 cl). Nous avons préférées prendre des petits-déjeunés copieux à 4€50 car nous avons vu que le jus d'orange seul est à 3€ (alors qu'il est compris dans l'autre formule). les prix sont pas souvent indiqués pour tous ce qui n'est pas dans des formules alors n'hésitez pas à demander. L'eau est payante donc il est des fois plus avantageux de prendre une grande bouteille que deux petites.

Nice hotel with very friendly and service minded staff. Good room, clean and good comfort. The location is more than okay. There is nothing to complain at. It felt like more than a two star hotel. I can really recommend it!

Bra prisvärrt hotell på aveny Prallell. Lätt att hitta till och hotellet var rent och snyggt med trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Ansåg dock att frukosten var för dyr så den provades aldrig. Ett bra hotell som jag kan tänka mig att nyttja igen.

Værelset var rummeligt. Der var meget rent og værelset var i god stand.

Hotel très agréable, très bien situé à 2 pas du métro, à 10 min à pied de la rambla, et le centre ville peut etre visité à pied. Très propre, chambre avec terrasse située au 1er étage sur cour. Assez calme mais mal insonorisé, petit déjeuner copieux.

je me suis referée aux avis des voyageurs et ne le regrette pas. Les lits sont tops, pas de "creux". La télé et le bar frigo dans la chambre, très bien pour rafraichir une bouteille d'eau. Dans l'entrée, internet gratuit ce qui n'est pas négligeable, en face parking, il faut compter 1e de l'heure. Les ramblas, tout près à pied et le metro aussi. Calme car double vitrage, clim très legere dans la chambre, Pour le p'tit déj, en remontant l'av parallel, vous trouverez et pas cher

The room and bathroom was nice, but a bit small. It was not very soundproof and you could hear people in the other rooms and especially people in the hallway late at night and in the morning, so bring earplugs. Our room was in the first floor and had a nice little terrace. Las ramblas was not far away, but it sometimes felt like that when we had been sightseeing for a whole day.

Hotel ist für ein ** Typ empfehlenswert. Zimmer zum Hinterhof sind ruhig, Straßenseite lauter. Portier steht bei der Tür und ist nicht behilflich wenn mann mit dem Gepäck kommt. Ansonsten ist das Hotel für einen Stadtbesuch zu empfehlen, da 2 U-bahnlinien und mehrere Autobuslinien praktisch vor der Tür sind.

Standarden var helt ok för detta tvåstjärninga hotell. Läget bra också. Ta med öronproppar om du är kännslig för ljud fr gatan.

das Hotel macht insgeamt einen sehr guten Eindruck - sauber, freundliche Mitarbeiter, guter Schallschutz seitens der Straße - einzig auf die übrigen Bewohner sei zu achten, da es innerhalb etwas hellhörig ist. Frühstück ok, aber etwas teuer, super günstige Lager zur Altstadt und zum Hafen. Ich würde gerne jeder Zeit wieder kommen!

Das Hotel ist gut eingerichtet und sehr befriedigend in Anbetracht von nur zwei Sternen Liegt aber nahe an der sehr lauten Avenida Parallel sodass die Fenster geschlossen bleiben müssen

Al het personeel was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De kamer was echter erg krap. wij waren met 2 volwassenen en een kind, doordat er dus 3 bedden in de kamer stonden was er nauwelijks nog loopruimte in de kamer of rondom de bedden. Om die reden zullen we dan ook niet terug gaan een volgende keer. Ontbijt was sober maar niet duur. De ligging van het hotel was goed, dichtbij een metro staion en alle bezienswaardigheden snel en makkelijk te bereiken.
