Hotel Il Guercino - Bolonija

The hotel was not too far from Bologna Station where the airport bus dropped us. We were too early for the room to be ready, but we were able to leave our luggage and then go out. The hotel is very quirky and attractive with lots of art and interesting things. Our room had epilepsy-inducing wallpaper, but was pleasant and clean and mercifully, air-conditioned. The price was good and it wasn't too far to walk into town. I'd recommend it as a better- than -usual budget choice.

This hotel is great, our room was brilliant. The bed was comfortable, loved the bathroom with the huge shower head, and the in room fridge was great for keeping my drinks cold! The breakfast was an additional cost although well worth it. All the staff were very friendly. I couldn't get the internet from my room (was on the top floor though) although it was easily accessible from the very comfortable sofas downstairs in reception!

I thought this was a really good place. It's very accessible, a five minute walk from the train station, and a fifteen minute walk up the main street to the main square. The staff at the reception were all multi-lingual, pleasant, and very happy to help with anything. The room itself was a decent size, air-conditioned, comfortable and cleaned every day. There was good WiFi, and it was really cheap as well (five hours for 2 euro). I would recommend this to anyone.

My sister and I stayed in this hotel for two nights. It was 35 degrees celsius in Bologna at the time and the air conditioning didn't work in our room (the temp gauge said it was 31 in our room). We complained to the manager and he told us it was working and refused to help or move us. We were so hot in our room we had to cover ourselves in wet towels and prop our door open to let the cooler air of the hallway flow in. We got no sleep and complained again in the morning so they moved us to a new room, which was air conditioned! He did not apologise, offer any discount or even give us our breakfast for free - all he said was that 'he slept fine'. In saying that though, the hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are large. But it's in a dodgy area of town that isn't safe at night, and the breakfast is not worth the money. We won't be returning any time soon and I strongly encourage others to book somewhere else!

Very convenient for the station and a nice walk to the Piazza Maggiore. Very quirky and eclectic decorative style but very serviceable. High ceiling could do with dusting and be warned about aircraft noise from the nearby airport.

A great little hotel if you don't mind walking 10 minutes away from the city centre. However, I would not really recommend for women traveling alone, unless you don't plan to walk around the city in the evening or plan to take a cab. The neighborhood is fine, but you have to walk past the train station in an area where there can be some unsavory folks. The desk clerk gave us inaccurate information two times, so do your homework before you arrive. All in all, the decor is really fun and the rooms and hotel are very clean.

Rather "querky" decor, weird wallpaper etc but clean and refurbished room and bathroom. Reception staff friendly and helpful for information. Useful mini supermarket on corner. City centre about 20 minutes walk - take the frequent buses on the main street.

It's location was convienent only because it was close to the train station. The area seemed dangerous and dirty. Gypsies were hanging out around the block. There were a lot of middle easterners living in the area. The hotel itself was nice. Just a bad location.

Il Guercino is a great place that is quite reasonable in price. Staff speak English very well, and it is really close to the train station. Highly recommended!

I was a little surprised with how far out the hotel was from the city center. Walking from the train station was quick but the rest of the city's major attractions. Also the neighborhood was quiet but had little charm. They hotel itself was trying hard to have a higher class feel with fancy wall paper and a strange mix of decor. It was all a cover for a very simple and dingy hotel. I had high expectations from the website that were not met.

The Hotel Il Guercino was cosy and well located near the station, with easy access to Piazza Maggiore along Via Independenzia. Free internet and printing was very useful, along with efficient housekeeping and free bike hire! The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The corner shop opened late, which sold water and other groceries and there was a bakery nearby for a yummy and cheap breakfast. Definitely recommended.

This hotel is small but perfectly formed, with friendly multi-lingual staff. There are a couple of less polished (rather than rough) corners but for the price you can't really complain. An easy walk into the centre, but a bit far if you want to 'pop back' for a siesta.

I paid such a low rate for this hotel, that I was not expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised. This gem, hidden down a side street near the central station is full of character and has facilities such as free internet, use of iron and ironing board, mini-bar in room etc that you would expect to find in a bigger hotel. The breakfast buffet was extensive and good value at 5 euros (though avoid the overcooked scrambled egg). The staff were helpful and we were very comfortable.

Very close to train station. Great breakfast that was inexpensive. Nice extra services like free bikes and sign up for guided tour. Room was nice.

If you are not used to European sized rooms then you will not be happy here. The room we had was tiny even by european standards but we enjoyed it. The people were great, the room was clean, the hotel is off the street so it is quiet. You can walk from the Bologna train station. And a Europe Car rental is fairly close (a long walk but do-able with luggage). We had access to a shared rooftop balcony which was pretty cool and our view was of a couryard which is surrounded by appartment balconies, which we thougt gave us a feel for Bologna Urban living, which we liked. We recommend this hotel but it definately depends on your taste.

This hotel is fun and funky. Each floor is decorated differently, there are magazines galore everywhere for you to enjoy, and there is a patio deck off of almost all of the rooms. There is an amazing quaint restaurant attached to the hotel.....the ravioli is to die for. The only down side of the hotel is that it is on the other side of the railroad tracks and the walk into the center square is a bout a mile and a half or so. During the day it is fine, and you can shop along your walk. It is just inconvenient at night, especially if you are traveling solo.

This newer hotel (only 1 yr old when we stayed) was very comfortable and quiet. No restaurant on site, but many are close by. Comfortable bar that will serve you pizza. The service was outstanding. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel is really nice, just 5 minutes walking to station and 15 minutes to the historical centre of Bologna (cathedral, Torre degli Asinelli, Piazza del Tritone, ect).The room is not massive but cosy and clean and the staff is very freandly and ready to help you with directioons and good restaurants or trattorias where to have a nice meal.

I was very pleased overall with the hotel, its service, food (breakfast was included), and staff friendliness. The hotel was a great find. The decor was charming and the rooms and all common areas were spotlessly clean. We requested a double room with two single beds. The room was very tiny, off-putting at first, but the beds were comfortable and the linens were of good quality. The shower stall was on the small side, maybe 2' x 2' square, but there was plenty of hot water. The location was superb for our purposes, with both bus service and train station very close. I would stay here again.

If you are from states and you are used to those big rooms in states you will be suprized. The room was very small, just bed, and a table. But it was clean. Bathroom was not functional.

We had a large clean room with modern bath. Friendly and efficient staff, great breakfasts and one block from bus line. Quiet location but close to city center.

originale e curato, non il solito albergo, ottimo raporto qualità prezzo, vicinissimo al centro

Vi kom frem ca kl. 23 og fikk et rom som luktet kloakk. Neste dag fikk vi et rom som var meget bra. Personalet var veldig serviceinnstilt og vi kommer gjerne tilbake.

Rent og pent hotell. Kort avstand inn til sentrum. Koselige restauranter rett ved hotellet. Hyggelig betjening, og god typisk italiensk frokost. Kanskje ikke verdens mest effektive a/c på rommet, og internett hastigheten på hotellets pc, kan vel ikke akkurat gå under kategorien superrask, men det da spiller ingen rolle. Vi kommer tilbake :-)

il miglior albergo di bologna, molto oltre le 3 stelle superiori di cui è insignito.il personale è gentilissimo, la pulizia e il comfort la fanno da padroni ed è appena dietro la stazione Bologna centrale.La fermata dei maggiori bus è quasi di fronte all'ingresso dell'albergo.Ke altro dire:LO CONSIGLIERO' A TUTTI!

Hôtel élégant où l'accueil est aimable et convivial. Il y a un arrêt de bus tout près de l'hôtel pour accéder au centre-ville donc très pratique.

Relativement bien place. A proximite de la gare et a 15 min a pied du centre. Bus egalement possible pour aller au centre. Chambre propre bien qu'un peu petite. Bon petit dej pas cher.

accueil très professionnel et renseignements sur la cité. Par contre, chambre exigue sous les toits un peu juste. Toutefois la climatisation est très appréciée

hadde en natt i bologna på Il Guercino, som var en særdeles hyggelig opplevelse. beliggenheten var bra, og hotellet hadde bådesjarme og sjel. Anbefales på det varmeste.

Lite men hyggelig hotell, ca en km fra jernbanestasjonen. Bra hotell, bra bad og stor balkong.

L'Hotel il guercino è veramente a due passi dal centro, arredato con un gusto tutto particolare che rende l'ambiente particolarmente accogliente e caldo senza sembrare troppo "domestico", un mix veramente azzeccato. Oltre a questo abbiamo trovato cordialità e funzionalità, una camera piccolina ma molto pulita, silenziosa e comoda. Colazione (a pagamento a parte) molto abbondante e con vasta scelta. Se dovessi tornare a Bologna sicuramente sceglierei di nuovo questo hotel

Il situe à côté de la gare (environ 5 min). L'accueil était très gentil, la chambre était propre. Notamment j'ai supris qu'il y'avait une machine à café bien qu'il soit moins cher. C'est magnifique.

E' stato un soggiorno breve, ma abbiamo gustato l'ambientazione raffinata dell'albergo, la disponibilità del personale, e inoltre degna di apprezzamento è stata la doccia "psichedelica" con le luci verdi, rosse rosa e azzurre che ti danno un piacevole buon ngiorno r ti fanno affrontare con più sprint la giornata

Avevo dei dubbi trovandosi poco dietro la stazione, in realtà la zona è molto tranquilla. Vicino c'è un ottimo ristorante consigliatoci dall'albergo e un bar carino. Uscendo dall stazione di bologna sull'uscita che sbocca sul cavalcavia della stazione, si evitano molti metri e si arriva molto velocemente.

Abgesehen davon, dass die Wände sehr dünn sind, kann man dieses Hotel durchaus weiterempfehlen. Auch das Frühstück war für 5 Euro sehr reichhaltig.

Hotel refait à neuf, chambre spacieuse et très confortable, petit déjeuner très correct et situation idéale, tout près du centre ville de bologne. Possibilité de se garer (16? dans leur parking surveillé ou dehors, rue calme mais payante).
