The Thirty Thirty Hotel, New York was very well situated for sighseeing, being within easy walking distance of the Empire State Building etc. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful and ready to deal with any queries. The standard room was quite small, although clean and comfortable. A kettle or coffee making machine would have been a welcome facility, as would additional lighting of some description as the room was rather dark due to the close proximity of a tall building alongside (well it is New York). However, all in all good value for money.

For the price and convenience of location, this hotel was not bad for the money. The room itself was slightly lacking in amenites. The only good thing about this hotel was the location to where we needed to be. The room was tiny and the bed was for a very short person. I am 5'5 and my feet were hanging off the bed. I am not sure what the issue was. The bathroom was a disaster. The pictures online must have been from a different hotel. The bathroom looked like a bathroom in a gym locker room. It has no tub just really old tile floors. The toilet was dirty. The air conditioning unit reminded me of a window unit that I had back in my parent's house in the 1970's. We had an interesting view of the fire escape. The elevator light to our floor was broken. The staff when we arrived was having an issue with another person who was complaining about the room. The only positive thing was that I needed toothpaste and they did bring it up to me but that was after I had to walk downstairs to ask for it. They never answered the phone when I tried to call the front desk. Don't stay here. It is not worth the money. You are better off staying in Jersey and taking the ferry into the city.

Pretty basic hotel but clean & bathroom ok. Staff helpful. For the money I can't fault it. Very pleasant bar and restaurant at the front. Location great near Penn Station. With the rail links vastly improved to JFK & EWR this is perfect. Close to the 6 line and in between midtown and downtown. An easy walk to Grand Central too. WiFi was approx $13 a day but there is internet (with printing for boarding passes) in the foyer for roughly 25cts/min.

If you're one of those people who likes to lounge around in your hotel room, you'd do better to find a larger place. However, if you actually go to NYC to hang out and your hotel room is simply a place to sleep, shower, and store your items - this is the perfect place. Rooms are sized for that purpose. I like the West Elm-like decor and the bustling energy around the hotel. Sure, it's no upscale boutique or major chain but it did the trick. My only quibble is how early and frequently the housekeeper came to my door. I was a little hungover the morning after my first night so I would have appreciated a visit closer to check-out time rather than at 9 am.

Apžvalgą pateikė Lie 14, 2009 G iš Southern Spain.
Although this is a budget hotel, we were not overly impressed. The hotel is looking very tired and is need of a makeover. The room was rather dingy and lacking in facilities. There was no mirror and no hotel information pack. There was only a built in cupboard, a small freestanding wardrobe with two small drawers and a bedside cabinet between the two beds. The plastic veneer was peeling off the wardrobe and bedside cabinet. The bathroom was very small and the tiles needed re-grouting. I had to run the hot water for quite a while before it ran clean. On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the air-conditioning worked well and the staff were very efficient and friendly. The attached bar was nice and we had good breakfasts in the restaurant. Although one only uses a hotel as a base and somewhere to sleep, in which case the hotel was adequate, but thats all. It was centrally placed, close to the Empire State building, so was convenient for a sight-seeing trip to Manhatton.

The room was very clean, and maid service was outstanding. For the money it was a very good place to stay. I had a single room that was very small even by European standards, for those of you know what I'm talking about. So I dont recomended the single rooms. Overall, I would stay again.

The hotel room was not what i expected. I booked for 2 nights. The first night I had a "single petite" room and the second was "standard." They did me a "favor" by putting me into a standard for both nights. Once I got to the the room I kid you not the room was the size of my closet at home!...so I assumed that they made a mistake and did not mention it until the next day. Next day I asked for an upgrade and they said you are all ready in the upgrade (this is when I laughed). The only difference between a "single petite" and the "standard" room is the bed. One has a twin bed and the other a queen. In the same size room mind you. I'm just going to assume this is a midtown NY standard as far as room sizes go for the price. Mind you next time I may head back to my usual place of stay in financial district...little more $$$ but when your on vacation you want to be at a comfortable spot even if it is just to sleep!

Our 2-twin bed room was on the top 12th floor with the best view of the Empire State Bldg. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable. No ice bucket, no coffee machine but a hairdryer that worked great. The location was just around the corner from Madison Ave with very short walks to Park Ave and 5th Ave. With 4 pieces of luggage, we had to take a taxi from Penn Station (West side) to the hotel (East side) otherwise it would have been too much to schlep. There are restaurants all around the hotel.

The staff was very good about letting us check in early. The first room they gave us was large, new and nice. However there was a large wet spot on the floor which drenched my socks.. and even though we paid for internet service there was no internet hook up in the room. you could feed off of unprotected WiFi from neighbors but you never know when that will be shut off. They were kind to offer to move us to another room. We smoke so instead of choosing to take the elevator down 12 stories to smoke each time we opted for a smoking room. Not so great.. obviously the room smelled. it was an old room, noisy a/c unit big obtrusive old TV blocking the was. The bathroom was large but the shower never got full pressure because most of the water kept pouring out the spout ino the tub. If you stick with a new non smoking room you should love this place and the staff.

It's by no means a five star luxury hotel, but for the price, it's an outstanding value. Very clean, easy to find, and in an excellent location, this hotel is great for the traveler who is in town for a couple of days visiting. Although I live not terribly from the city and am a regular visitor, I decided to stay since I was on business and didn't feel like commuting two mornings. For this purpose it was adequate, but that's about all I can say. The reason I don't recommend this to business travelers is the lack of in room internet. There was a wired internet connection in the room, but it didn't work (I'm an IT pro, I'm certain it was the network connection and not my laptop). How a hotel expects to thrive in the business without offering any sort of reliable internet access is beyond me. I'm even willing to pay for it in addition. And as inexpensive as it is to install a wireless network these days, there is really no reason not to have it. Sure, there were terminals in the lobby, but they were .25 a minute to use, and I'm wary of security on such devices. A real plus is that it's also only 2 blocks from the 28th Street subway station where you can catch the A train on the Lexington Ave. Line, which is nice. It's in a nice neighborhood too, between Madison and Park Aves, just a few blocks north of Madison Square Park. The free baggage check was a plus, something that other hotels will charge for. The room is a bit small, but it's well appointed, and the bathroom is very spacious. Small room size is a problem that plagues many New York hotels though, so I didn't hold this against the Thirty Thirty. My biggest complaint with this hotel though was the A/C unit in the room. It worked very well, if turned down it could get it very cool. It didn't even seem to be that old, even. But, you have to bang on the side of the housing every five minutes or so to keep it from making a horrible rattling noise. It was just a window unit too, and I'm not entirely sure how the build

The 30-30 is in a nice location 3 blocks from the Empire State building. The lobby is nice and there are plenty of convenient shops right out the door. The room we had was small with no frills - two double beds, two bath towels, two soaps, etc. No desk, no lazy boy chairs, nothing fancy. It did have a laptop safe. Despite the no frills of the room, it was impeccably clean. Essentially the 30-30 offers a clean bedroom to sleep in and a nice clean shower to bathe. It's not the place for a honeymoon, but if you get your bedroom at 30-30 and let NYC provide you with the entertainment, it's a perfectly good arrangement.

The hotel is very dark inside and room was basic and there was a constant noise of a fan because of the air conditioning which was very annoying and could not be switched off, very nervewracking when trying to get asleep. Staff was average, at the time of check out the concierge was very snappy for no reason and did not even reply when I said goodbye, I undertand tipping is a must in the USA but personally I would not tip if service is bad, courtesy should be at the top of the list when offering a service, not a result for giving money, especially when paying good money for a room to start with! Certainly would not go back again. Definitely not worth the money you are paying plus there is no coffee facility either. I would check other options before booking with them.

I noticed the room was dirty, had not been vaccumed, and shower stall had clumps of hair.I went back downstairs to have them clean it.I was told the cleaning lady would be there tomorrow and that she couldn't do anything.I asked to speak with the manager,he said he would send someone up to see.The maintenance man came up and said there was no one available to clean room, I said I would go back downstairs to talk with the manager, then he said he would whatever he could to bring it up to standards and apologized for the dirty room. The air conditioning never worked and it was 86 degrees outside and muggy. The room was closterphobic,it barely fit the twin bed it had.So pretty much, I did not get what I paid for,and my problems were never addressed as they sholud have been.Do not stay at this hotel,as the whole staff does not care including the manager.
