Chesterfield Hotel, Suites and Day Spa - Majami Byčas

Rooms are uncomfortably small and cramped including the bathroom. The lighting in this hotel is terrible! I stayed for 10 days and lived out of my suitcase because there weren't any dressers and only one hanger in the closet. Friends of mine also stayed here and their room did not even have a telephone. The music in the bar is exceptionally loud and absolutely not condusive to a relaxing stay. Happy hour in the bar was nice and the bartenders were very charming. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. In short, I will not return.

This was a great hotel with lots of charm. It is only one block from Ocean Drive in South Beach, well within walking distance of surroundings. The only downfall was that from the minute you walk in, you are inundated with the smell of cigarette smoke. There is a bar on the first floor and I suppose that is the source of the odor.

Wish I could have actually stayed at this hotel, but upon chcking I was informed that my room had a leak as a result of the heavy rain, and I was subsequently transferred to the Catalina down the road.

Great Location. Loved Happy hour but they do need more variety in the drink selection. Rooms are dark but you will get use to it. All in all I would stay here again.

+ location; + entertaiments; + bar stuff; - parking; - bathroom need to be improved - to much water on the ground; - checkin & check out procedures are without any flexibility.

I use to live in Miami Beach and moved North, I choose "The Chesterfield" due to the location, its is close to ocean drive and in walking distance to the beach, bars, etc. When I booked the room I reserved a king size bed, when we got to the hotel I was told that there were only double beds available and the man "Sammy" that was working the desk was unpleasant. We got to the room which was a decent size but the lighting was poor and when I booked the room online I was told that there was wireless internet access through out the hotel, FALSE! Sammy informed us that we needed to hang out in the lobby in order to have internet access,the bathroom sink had a HUGE fracture crack and there were no accessable outlets in the room. They do offer two hour free happy hour my word of advise order as many drinks as you can every person at the hotel will be in the lobby at those hours and you are limited as to what is free. Over all the room was quite and the location was good, if you are looking for a place to rest your head after a late night you would be better off at a hostel.

This hotel is ok in terms of appearance. The rooms had large tv screens and an ipod dock. These are the pluses. There is no pool, the staff are rude and unhelpful and the hotel hallway smells of damp. Also the rooms are very dark and the staff say it's due to the "art deco" theme. Nice deco not much else! Oh yeah don't expect breakfat (as in food!)

In the ad it said that hotel has parking, in reality this is vallet parking right on the street in front of the hotel.

The rooms were dark and the air was inadequate. We changed rooms twice. In the first room the toilet did not work and the air conditioner was broke. In the second room the safe did not work. The maid service did not always bring clean towels and the room wasn't sweep clean. The carpeting in the hallways was old, and there was a slight smell of mold in the air. The rooms are very small and the lobby is small as well. The pictures shown on the website made everything look much better than it was. The location was great for south beach, but the hotel needs to renovate.

Trendy, clean, spacious room just a block from the ocean in South Beach -- and at an unbeatable price!!

This was the second time I stayed at the Chesterfield, which uses the Lilly next door as part of its complex. It's a block from the ocean in the heart of South Beach. The rooms are stylishly deco and comfy. Daily parking is $30. The HDTV was set on the wall with a 20-degree list to starboard, so it was kinda hard to watch. Be warned: the 8:30 am garbage truck sounds like a revisit of Hurricane Andrew, only LOUDER!

Rooms need more light in them. Is still very dark with all lights on in the whole room. Light in corridor was also very dark. Jacuzzi was green and mouldy! Other than that it was great.

We had reserved a King size room, got there and recieved a Jr. Suite. Tastefully decorated, comfy bed, great bathroom!!! Wish we had a couple more days there. Great bartender and happy hour...

This hotel is truly great for the price. I have stayed at other hotels in this same area with the same price range and they are nothing in comparision. The hotel is inexpensive, clean and the rooms are decorated very well, excellent use of a small space.

Hotel had a drug and prostitution sting going on the night we arrived. Undercover cops were arresting people, bringing them through the hotel lobby and taking them upstairs. This is not the place for people on vacation unless you are a college student looking to party all night while being in the middle of all the action. There is nothing comfortable about officers parading suspects in handcuffs through a hotel lobby you are checking into. The rooms were clean and nice with the exception of mosquitos being in the room. We were upgraded to a larger room in the back away from the street and rowdy noise in the hotel bar and lobby area. The room was spacious but average size so I wonder what the normal room looked like.

UPSIDE: WOW! For a really cheap rate, Hotels.com got me a luxury designer hotel room one block from the beach in South Beach, with jacuzzi, clean linens, flat screen TV, all on the main floor! Excellent hot and cold water pressure. Easy, courteous check-in (check out took a while while a guest tried to get the clerk to let her check out a day late w/o paying...(it's a Miami Latina thing.) HVAC worked perfectly, even in muggy 95-degree Miami heat. Fun African-art deco themed lobby (got to see it to understand) Awesome deal. DOWNSIDE? No internet in the room. Parking is always an issue in South Beach, and Chesterfield is no exception ($30 per day for valet-only parking). The sink spigot was broken and sprayed water all over at first, until the arator popped off. The garbage trucks made a LOT of noise in the morning, as did many of the guests who spent all night stomping up and down the stairs by my ground-floor entryway. (Always bring foam earplugs when staying in South Beach) Fortunately, the style, cleanliness and comfort of the room outweighed any disadvantages.

All the makings of one of the sexiest hotels in the nation. The rooms, the location, the lobby bar and sidewalk tables, and the eye-candy guests and friendly staff make this truly the "South Beach scene". Unfortunately, our 3rd-floor room was horribly hot, with the temperature at head level never less than 90 degrees. The low bed luckily got the benefit of the AC. The internet connection wasn't working, and the staff three times misinformed us that the rooms had DVD players (they do have CD players).

For what we paid, this was a great deal. The room was clean, the bed was so comfortable it felt like sleeping on a cloud, and loved the walk in shower. We didn't use the jacuzzi tub, however. We had a junior suite, which was located in a separate building away from the street, so we didn't have all the noise from the traffic and all of the partying that was going on. The proximity to the beach and the nightlife on Ocean Ave. was perfect and it wasn't too far of a walk to get to shopping. The building is a bit dated and could use some updating/renovating though. If you can get this hotel on sale, definitely worth it. Regular price is too expensive for this hotel.

The look to the rooms are pretty modern, but there is only one dim chandelier that does more for the decor rather than actual lighting. Make sure you get dressed while the sun is out, or you'll struggle. The lack of a shower stall per say creates quite a mess in the room, and for a place near the beach, we didn't get daily room service until nearly 4 PM the next day. Had to wait until then to shower, and we were kicked out of the room while they cleaned. Front desk staff is friendly, though. Overall OK if you get a deal on the room.

this hotel started off with horrible customer service. first i missed my plane, so when i called to let them know that i would be a day late, they said that they were going to cancel my reservations, although the room was already paid for, because it was a special event weekend (memorial day). after arguing back and forth and getting hung up on twice, when i actually got to the hotel the next day and showed a copy of my paid room, there was no questions asked and i was roomed immediatly. the hotel and the rooms were clean, very nice and was worth the money, not to mention i got my room for 50% off through hotels.com. it's right around the corner from the beach, on the strip if you want to shop and walking distance from night clubs. i would recommend this hotel to anyone vacationing in miami.

This hotel was a very good option. Close to the beach (five minutes walk) is located in one of the busiest streets of Miami beach. I found the hotel good although it's quite nosy due its location. Don't take a car. Very difficult to park. Parking costs around $20/day or $1.25/hour (max 4 hours). When you book the hotel call them. We booked a 2 beds room and ended up paying an extra $60 to get one (the available option was with a king bed, what me and my friend didn't want). But we got 2 king beds, that's fine! Very important: the hotel bar as Happy Hour from 7pm to 8pm with FREE (Yes Free!) drinks (vodka, rum and gin)!!. Overall this is a good option.

The Front Desk staff was not accomodating, they were actually quite rude. The guests at the hotel were screaming in the hallway at 6 am and woke me up. When I tried to call the front desk (for the 2nd time during that stay) there was again no answer. I valet parked my car and then when I received it, it smelled so bad and took a full day and wash to air out. They also do not have on demand movies.

Room was really small,no bureau for your clothes and very little closet space.Shower is level with the entire bathroom so water covers the whole floor.Staff was friendly and courteous.No pool but there was a whirlpool and loungers on the top deck.Very convienent location,but parking is a nightmare.I personally would not stay there again.

I had stayed at this hotel 2 years earlier and stayed in a great, comfortable and fun room. I decided to stay there again when I returned this time and did not get the same experience. When my room was finally ready they "claimed" I had been upgraded which excited me. When they showed me to the room I was VERY disappointed. There was nothing special about the room. There was way too many decorations and no where to put our belongings. We lost a few items in the clutter but luckily found them when we checked out finally. The only thing the room had going for it was the bathroom. They are very big and clean. I think I will try some other hotels on my next visit.

This hotel was in a good position to enjoy the sights and sounds of South Beach, Miami. The room was very small, and was cleaned on a daily basis. There was a plasma TV and an ipod docking station in the room. We had asked for a twin but got a double. The bathroom was tiny. So small that you had to climb over the toilet to reach the shower. The sink was poorly maintained- the tap had broken off, the sink was wobbly. It was very difficult to physically use the toilet at all as it was tucked under the sink! There was a free happy hour daily for spirits and the bar staff were helpful. However, the reception staff had obviously never even come across the concept of customer service! There were one or two who were ok, though (but this was the exception rather than the norm).

The Chesterfield hotel is in a prime, bustling location, very convenient to everything in the art deco district of South Beach. I had a spacious suite with 2 queen beds and a sitting room. Very large by South Beach standards. The room was decently clean and nicely decorated, but very very dark (even with lights on and windows open). The major issue I had with the hotel was the level of noise. We stayed in the building right next to the main one but offset from the street. There was a small hotel bar at the street level and we were behind it. Although very few people visit this tiny bar, they blasted music every night until 3am or later. It wasn't always a problem since we were in south beach to party, and often got back to the room later than that. But the one night we wanted to rest (and got back at 1am - on a Sunday night), it still was blasting. Worse, when the janitors come to clean the hotel bar in the morning, they also blast the music starting at around 9 or 10am. The basically left us with 6-7 hours max/night of quiet. In addition, there was construction going on with jackhammers in the morning as well. Needless to say, our stay wasn't restful at all, although the beds themselves were comfortable. If you're looking to party in south beach and not sleep much, this is a great place to stay with a free happy hour each night in a prime location. If you're planning on going to bed before 3am any night however, be careful!

On line, this hotel sounds like an upscale, trendy, posh, centrally located hotel in South Beach. Well, it is centrally located, but that is where it ends. We stretched our budget to stay in an upgraded suite at the Chesterfield. When we checked in at the "lobby" (a bar with blaring rap music and drunk patrons spewing out into the street), we could not even hear the staff member trying to help us. He led us to our "suite" which was barely big enough to turn around in, on the street 10 ft from another noisy bar! Needless to stay we did not sleep at all that night. The next morning we asked to speak to the manager who never seemed to show up. Eventually after a lot of indifference on the part of the front desk staff, we were given a different room at the back of the hotel, which was actually pretty nice, modern and more quiet. Unless you are under 20 and really don't care about sleeping, don't bother staying here! Oh...and as for the "spa"...it is a small area in the basement. You would think a "spa" would at least have a pool. No pool what so ever.

Parking is very expensive if you can find it, very noisy. Lobby, hallways and room are very dark, no lighting. Elevator is as small as a closet and did not work half the time.

When I arrived it took 4 hours for my room to be ready..and then when i got in the room there was a severe leek in the ceiling..And when i reported it to the front desk, they sent somebody there and they just put a towel on the floor..upon checking out I asked if they could discount me or compensate me, but they didn't..Very unprofessional..

We absolutely loved the area and the rooms were clean and tidy but it was hard to sleep through plaster vibrating noise and the dancing over our heads that lasted till nearly 3:30AM. We only stayed 1 night and were so exhausted that we actually did get some sleep!

Loved the hotel! When we checked in they upgraded our room to the larger suit. Not sure why but we really enjoyed it. After we checked in had "happy hour" at the hotel bar free drinks! Also the food at the hotel restaurant made for a really nice lunch. Great service overall!

Had a great room with beautiful green/purple/white decor. Very hip. We enjoyed just sitting out on the front porch watching all the expensive cars parade by. Short walk to just about anything we wanted to do. Only bad experience was a smoke alarm going off at the bar next door Friday night. It took over an hour for someone to shut it off.

small rooms, you should stay if you are on a romantic getaway for two. The elevator was broken for a day..

Lobby dark and questionalbe on how clean it is. Staff friendly. Rooms in adjacent buildings safety an issue with no gate or security measure leading to guest room doors - open to the public.

The place is great for the money. It's right in the heart of the strip but actually one block off the party that is ocean drive and the major attraction The Beach. The room/bathroom is small, but how much time are you really going to spend in your room?? The lobby is quaint and has a nice bar that serves up free cocktails from 7-8 nightly.

Room was small but nicely decorated, not a bad hotel for the price, location, and amenties. They need more lights!!!!

My stay was scheduled for Jan. 30th and 31st. I checked in on Jan. 30th the room (500) was not clean. I was moved to another room (506) the A/C and phone did not work. I had to leave the hotel and check into another hotel because of the conditions of the room. I placed a complaint to the front desk about my experience. They directed me a manager (Laquana) who never followed up with me. I reached out to them for three weeks. It was a very unfortunate stay. One of my biggest complaints is that I reached out to the manager countless times to speak to her. She never returned my emails or was available to speak with me. It was quite unfortunate because they charged my credit card and would not give me a refund. The pictures on hotels. com does not reflect the way the rooms actually appear. I would not suggest staying in this hotel!!!

The hotel is located in the middle of south beach, just walking distance to the beach during the day and clubs at night. wasn't impressed with the a/c in our room, it never seemed to cool off even after they claimed to a/c switch units. i was lucky the outside temp wasn't too bad, or would have been sweating in bed. the front desk was very friendly.

Oh My God where do I start I was searching for a hotel and I was reading the reviews I never really take the reviews and judge a hotel by what other say but this one was HORRIBLE the staff was great but everything that you read in everyones reviews about this hotel is 100% accurate my husband said the review from 1 guy we read it was so true. The Noise they party at the bar allllll night long It was Karaoke Thursday and it didnt end until 5am and the slamming of other people room doors never ended your rooms should just be at the bar because you can hear all of the music and noise in the hall and then after 5am the garbage truck is in the alley slamming garbage cans until checkout time and the front desk has a nerve to call you and say its check out time but they cant control all the noise in the hotel I never really bash a business but oh my lord how would they even offer a spa service how would you relax for a massage from all the noise they would have to have a bullet proof sound proof door to that room. the lighting was very poor in the room and the bathroom was like a 1/2 bath in your basement the only thing I can say is the staff was friendly but I guess they have to be so you want pull their hair out when you check out because you didn't get any sleep that night the rates should be a lot less for this hotel because it was a very noisy

The room was immaculate. Great location, very short walk to the beach. Seemed to be a bit of a party hotel, which was fine with me. We had a deluxe suite with 2 queens and a sofa bed. Everything was great, $30 valet parking a day, and stay away from the mini bar, its expensive.

We had a terrible experience at another hotel, the through Hotels.com we got into this WONDERFUL place, and it totally turned our trip around. We enjoyed the room, all the staff was very friendly and helpful, and it helped save a bad situation and make it very FUN!!! Thank you.

This was a great hotel. The staff were nice. The the room was very clean, and the location was excellent. The only thing I found kinda weird about it was that in the room we got (a room with 1 king size bed,) the bathroom door was made completely out of transparent glass. Besides that the experience was great.

The guests next door were screaming and fighting with each other a whole night till 5AM. I could sleep at all. And I could reach the front desk. The phone wasn't working.

Excellent location!!! While we have stayed at several of the hotels in the area, this one was by far amoungst the best. Only issue that we found lacking was the lack of room service for meals, but definately not a show stopper given all the eateries in the area. Their happy hour is 1st class. Overall, A+ lodging.
