Wyndham Orange County - Kosta Mesa

Only negative was the shower in our room.It was the type that had the water either on or off and the water temp was scorching. Very reasonably priced, even with the parking fee. No charge or weight restriction for our 90lb lab. Grass area for the dog was easily accessible as well as doggie bags and waste-can. Lovely grounds and close to shops and eating.

A little dissatisfied that breakfast was not included in my stay. Overall good hotel.

OK, so this place is pretty nice, the rooms are nice and clean, the bathroom is really nice, and the grounds around the hotel are all kept up really well too. I do have a huge gripe about this place, however, and that is that the high speed internet in the hotel is $9.95 per day, per device! Maybe I travel with too much technology, but both me and my girlfriend each take a laptop when we travel and the charge applies to both computers and it's only good until noon the next day. Not to mention if you have a PSP, or an ipod touch, or anything else you might like to relax with while you're on vacation that uses the internet. The problem I have with this is two things. First, their website boasts about high speed internet in the rooms with no mention to the extra fee. Second, I've stayed at some run-down, side of the highway motels that had free wi-fi, there's no excuse for a high end hotel like this charging more for such a standard service. I'm already paying more for the room! Bottom line, I would not recommend this place if you are an avid internet user unless you are OK with adding on $10 per mobile device per night to your total. Oh, and parking is an additional $15 per night.

WE loved the gurgling "river" outside the balcony and the marvelous walkways in the evening. Wonderful light effects, feeling of total safety,things were lush and plush. For the money, a truly great deal!

When we checked in they were having a Art reception in the lobby. Very loud and crowded with wine and food all around. Staff was pleasant. I called to confirm the day prior for 2 Queen beds. They said no problem. There were none available and they offered a King with a pull out sofa. So we took it, then upon arriving to our room there were what appeared to be numerous kids in the hall swearing and having a great time. We said We hope we are not near them but it turns out we were right across the hall. We entered the room and could still hear them having fun. Called the desk, very sorry and offered us a Exec Suite away from them. Still no 2 beds but we did have a pull out sofa in the living room. I understand events occur but kids???/ Looked like a prom event and the next morning lots of them looked as though they got very little or no sleep...

Surrounded by many hotels, and it is in a nice location, the price was great for me. The room was clean and comfortable. Just the bathtub..... You do not want to take a bubble bath!! I had a great stay. Took a walk in the morning where there is a pond in the back of the hotel.

Nice hotel, fantastic location, most of the staff was helpful and friendly, but the bathroom needs updating. The floor tile had a few chips in it & there was very little counter space.

It was a nice place to stay. I would have to say that personally the greatest perk (pun intended) was the Wolfgang Puck's gourmet coffee in my room. This was some great tasting coffee. A co-traveler was swiftly relocated due to a very dirty room. The hotel accommodated him and gave him a new room. Not a bad place to rest your head.

Very relaxing stay and great value for the price paid.

Traveling for business and the managers on duty were excellent- very friendly and they recommended several great restuarants within walking distances. the hotel staff was very attentive in the morning and secured a cab for us in mins. They also do a fun happy hour featuring California wines which is very nice.

Bathroom needs a make-over. Mold on tile grout, dirty baseboards and lower walls, broken electrical switch plate cover, crooked mirror, old paint chipping off of tub. Just a dirty old feeling in the bathroom -- not what we expected for a 4 or 5 star hotel.

I have stayed in plenty of hotels before and I am not a very picky person, however, I must say I was greatly disappointed with the Wyndham Hotel in Costa Mesa. First of all, I had to wait almost an hour and a half to check into my room as it was not ready (check in was at 3 PM, and I was unable to check in until well after 4 PM). This was a first for me! Not even Vegas hotels keep You waiting that long! Another disappointment was the hotel service; particularly with the receptionists. They were neither helpful nor friendly. They seemed rather annoyed and unwilling to tend to their customer needs. Not everything was a complete disappointment though. The room was comfortable and the price was fair. My only complaint for the room was that the light switches did not work properly and were clearly broken as most of them would not switch on and off as they should. These are the minor details that can be bothersome (especially when you are in the dark and trying to go to the bathroom but can't because you are too busy trying to figure out those stupid lights) and ruin what could otherweise be a pleasant stay. If I had to do it all over, I would book my stay at the Hilton a few blocks away.

I requested and it was confirmed that we were to be in a 2 Queen bed room, but upon checkin the front desk informed me the only rooms available had a King and a full size hide a bed which we accepted.

Beware, you must pay for parking. Not included in stay. Other then that, great hotel for the price we paid.

I booked my stay just 2 days before I arrived and I received a very affordable price.

The area is excellent, though the hotel isn't what I was expecting in terms of service and overall accomodations. The room was preset to a temperature of 70 degrees to save energy. I was on the 6th floor and it got warmer than 70. After tossing and turning until 11pm with no luck of the temperature reducing (though the knob was at 63F), I finally called the front desk where I was advised that the temperature will not go below 70 degrees. Maintanence was called to send me a fan, but no one showed up. The girl that I spoke with was a bit rude. When I checked out, the guy at the front desk apologized and credited my parking and internet charge.

Had a wonderful stay. My room was spacious, comforytable and nicely appointed, overlooking a beautiful pond and grassy park-like area. It was close to shopping and the theater arts center, right off the freeway and very clean. Staff and service were exceptional. This was quite a surprise and a nice "find."

While checking in there was construction/maintenance going on. What i didn't like was that there were dog bones in a bowl on the check in desk. I didn't realize that animals were accepted! Upon leaving to check out the elevator actually smelled of dog, in which I did tell the check out clerk. We didn't ride the elevator with anyone! Otherwise it was a nice hotel. Thank you

CARPET NEEDS TO BE WASHED IT WAS KINDA STICKY,THERE WAS A BROKEN GLASS IN THE HOT TUB,AND DIDN'T CHANGE THE PILLOW CASE.

I checked in and they had a lot of trouble locating my reservation. They were very nice so it wasn't really a probelm, until the morning. I woke up to a bill, it was almost twice what I paid on hotels.com. I went to the front desk and JOSH was VERY VERY rude to me. Told me I had never booked the room through Hotels.com and that I was lying. I called hotels.com at once, and they straightened the whole thing out. I would never stay at this hotel again because of the way I was treated at the front desk. I own a business myself and would have fired Josh on the spot if he was my employee. I checked on line and this seems to be standard treatment at the Wyndham Hotels, not very good at customer service, and well run as a company.

everything was great but be ready for extras!!! they will charge you for parking for each car!!! push the wrong button on your tv. and you'll pay extra. No freebies, not even breakfast. but once again the room was great.

WOW. a really great price for such a nice hotel! Great service, great location. they have the iPod iHome for alarm clocks! highly recommended! Thanks!

This hotel was well worth the money. It is a good location and has a very pleasant atmosphere. I didn't have any complaints.

Used this hotel as a starting point for our Southern CA trip. We were all flying into John Wayne Airport/Santa Ana. A family member was meeting us and we loved that a shuttle was offered from the airport to the hotel as we would would not be arriving until later in the evening. The hotel staff was excellent. The room was nicely decorated and the beds extremely comfortable. The price was great. (the restaurant was a little understaffed, but then it was the morning after X-mas...the food was good though).

The hotel gave our reservation away to someone else who checked in earlier, but we got a new room after the initial confusion...and comp for the first day of parking. After that first hiccup, everything else went smoothly. The guest service was prompt and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for any type of traveller.

Quietroom with balcony overlooking tranguil garden with beautiful trees. Location near Orange County Performing Arts Center and huge shopping mall.Lovely landscaping and excellent walking around lake.A large hotel designed to feel small and personal.

Hotel was very nice but wasn't a fan of having to pay $14 for parking and another $10 for wireless internet. Had a decent fitness center and the rooms were very confortable.

I was attending a concert in that side of town for the evening. My boyfriend and I stayed over night to avoid the drive and to get some well needed rest. Well, we checked in late but they did not ask us if we wanted one king or two full beds. When we got to the room there were two full beds, we had to sleep seperately which sucked. Otherwise, the hotel over looks a beautiful man made lake and the bathrooms are nice. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and I would stay there again if I was in the area.
