Royal Plaza Hotel-Downtown Disney - Lake Buena Vista

The pool was not clean, the jacuzzi wasn't either (you can see sand and dead bugs in it). The sheets on the bed had stains on it. and the shower floor and bathroom floor wasn't very clean. The inroom safe wasn't working. I had stayed there before many times and was pleased...this time, I was rather disappointed.

You would expect to pay more for this hotel. The view from the top(17th) flood was outstanding. Room was very clean & very comfortable. Only complaint was the jacuzzi tub did not work.

Great for the money. Not sure if it was hotels.com or the Royal Plaza, but was not told of the resort and parking fees. paid $50 more . On a tight budget that was a suprise. Very clen and very quiet .

very noisy from traffic on I-4 and from noisy persons in the room close to ours! Did not like the additional hidden charges like $8.00dollars for parking and $8.52 for Resort fee???? Nothing was said from Hotels.com about possible hidden fees!

For the money, you really can't beat this one. We tried this on a whim the first time. We liked it so much, we came back and probably will the next time we go to Orlando. We have relatives that have stayed in one of the Disney hotel for a more than we paid and the bathroom and overall room was smaller. If you're looking for the resort style hotel, you're barking up the wrong tree. But if you're looking for a hotel that has transportation to the Disney parks without the Disney prices and don't plan on staying around the hotel (after all you're surrounded by parks and shopping)here's a great one. And did I mention, the shower is awesome!! Talk about massage after a long day of walking and getting beat under the sun. The shower is refreshing after a day in the park. Everything is close. Downtown Disney? Turn left. Pizza place, seafood restaurant, wing place? Turn right. It's all there within 2-3 minutes.

We booked at the last minute and for the price there was no complaint what so ever. The room was clean, and the service was great. Conveinent to all the Disney parks and other shopping.

Great room for the money. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good location near Downtown Disney.

Very quiet and clean hotel !!! Got a great deal. Only thing we were not used to is paying for parking and and resort fee . That may be common but was not made very clear at the time of booking by Hotels.com. Had a great time !!

A/C was loud,... traffic from I-4 noisy,... Persons in room close by loud till 2AM Like the Airlines,...they had Hidden charges,..Parking fee and Resort fee. This was above and beyond the price quoted by Hotel.com

The hotel staff are great, except the housekeepers - seems to have no collection of the number of towels requested on the first day (I had to continually request for extra towels everyday fot the next 4 days!) According to the maintenance guys, the A/C condensation was dripping into the bathroom sink. Now why that will happen, and 'though a relatively new hotel, no one knows that this will happen? Annoying and inconvenient to say the least. The Giraffe cafe is too small! the lobby is great. Again, this hotel is acceptable for the money.

The room was beautiful but was not happy at all with the restroom. The toilet had backed up when I had used it at 12 midnight and it was too late to call maintanance at that time. The bathroom was flooded.

The room was a good size, the bathroom was nice and big. But needs the shower door cleaned a little better. Everything else was fine.

Very nice and convenient to all attractions.

The hotel staff is very friendly but when we got to the hotel room we noticed some trash on the floor. There was also hair in the bath tub. I was a little disappointed that they did not have the bar outside open and when we swam in the pool it just felt really "icky". The price and location was excellent; but I think they need to keep up with thei cleanliness and amenities.

Everything was better than i expect and the staff recieved us with a smile . The room look beautiful and really clean.

I got what I paid for. I older looking hotel with some upgrades. THe food selection at the hotel's one "restaurant" wasn;t good. The breakfast buffet was overpriced for the selection provided. Not horrible but not great either.

We enjoyed most of the stay, however, we did not know about the $8/day for parking and $8/day for "other" amenities (none of which we used, including the USA Today that was, according to the hotel in-room booklet, was supposed to be delivered to the room each morning.)

The maintenance of the common areas in the hotel is horrible. Looks like it's never clean.

This hotel was horrible, the tub was dirty, there weren't any clean towels, the frond desk staff was not helpful...The bed was lumpy...You have to pay to park even after you pay to stay in the hotel...This is not a good place to stay...Horrible..

Great room for the money, I rhink needs improvent the cafeteria & restaurant , the restaurant close so early.

Royal Plaza is an awesome place to stay me and my husband have stayed there several times in the past and just could not stay somewhere else. it is very close to alot of things. the only thing that we did not like was the paying to park there at the hotel. it must be a new thing. but other than that we got our money's worth. we will stay there many more times.

My daughters and I enjoyed our stay at Royal Plaza. It was nice to have a hotel that was walking distance to Down Town Disney. I had a few issues with our room ie: needed more soap and shampoo, the sliding glass door would not lock and the remote in the t.v. needed batteries. I called the front desk and they assisted us in a timely manner.

No Courtesy at the front desk when checking in. She seeemed like just being blamed by boss. When meet the housekeeping in the morning, she did not say anything, just ignore. The atmosphere for staying here is not good. The hotel is bit running down. It is not 3 or 3 1/2 star. I never stay in a hotel before where the front desk staff is so grumpy.

The Tower rooms are worth the extra pay!

the amount of money i paid for this room was nothing compared to the service and conditions of the hotel. its really ran down and i will never visist or concider staying there again

Very cheap compared to the quality of our room. We received a free upgrade and enjoyed our stay here. Shuttle buses to Disney run every 30 minutes and are very convenient.

I stayed in this hotel before on a business trip. This time I decided to take advantage of the summer specials and it was a good deal for the money. It is walking distance to downtown Disney and several restaurants, and had shuttle access to Disney World. I was disappointed that the room did not have a refrigerator. The price in the guide was $75.00 so I chose not to ask for it.

Nice room, big bathroom, comfortable bed/pillows, good location and reasonable rates. On the down side, you must pay the $8.00 "Resort Fee". Only 2 elevators for a 17 story tower make for a long wait. Asked the front desk for a box of tissue and was told to return to the room and wait. It never arrived.

My husband and I spent our 25th anniversary at the hotel. We have stayed there before and truly enjoyed our experience. The room, view, staff, location, the price, everything was great. We live close enough that it makes for a nice getaway, close to everything we enjoy doing. Thanks for the deals that you offer, makes it more enjoyable knowing that we didn't have to spend a fortune to have fun. Thanks for helping to make a Great Anniversary even better.

Good: Hotel was clean and comfortable Bad: Children were suppose to eat free for all meals, however we ended up being charged. Cable went out frequently. Pool was not kid friendly. Dealing with the shuttle times were not ideal. The shuttle went to three hotels for pick-ups and drop-offs and sometimes did not even have a seat. Next time we will try and get a hotel near the parks!

Everyting was great just watch they charge u 8 dollarsa night for it being a resort. I was there for 5 days that was 51 dollars.

Indeed this hotel was in walking distance to a handful of restaurants and stores. The shuttles alwasy ran every 15min. This hotel is close to Disney Downtown, not Disney World (there is a compl. shuttle). We stayed on the 17th floor facing Hotel drive for the 4th of July. Everynight we saw the fireworks from Magic Kingdom and some from Epcot, and Downtown Disney. Rooms are royal and beds are very comfortable. Very quiet. Note: there is no compl. WIFI. or buss. center. Those services are provided at an extra fee. Also there was an additional $8.00 per day hotel charge. It was well worth the money and stay.

This was a great hotel, beautiful room decor, comfortable, very clean. Just one problem. After a long day doing the tourist thing, you want to relax and watch cable TV or movies. They didn't have cable TV or movies! This is a standard feature at any hotel I've been in, so that was a shock. Everything else, including fast, friendly service from the front desk, was great.

This hotel is nice, and liked the jetted tub in the bathroom. However.....when I confirmed the cost of stay at the front desk they didn't tell me about the "Resort Fee". THey charge a seperate fee for the amenities. It seems like they should verbalize this fee, include it with the room rate, OR tell me when I specifically ask them about the cost of my stay, which they didn't. I found out at the end. Also, it will cost about $105 roundtrip shuttle to/from the airport. Plan for this. Once you are there, the shuttle takes you to theme parks each day for free.

My husband and I booked 2 different rooms at this hotel with only one of the rooms meeting our expectations.The room my husband and our two teenage boys shared was very hot and they moved to a different room when the A/C did not cool off the room after a reasonable amount of time after check-in. We even tried using the ceiling fan in the room which was shaking precariously as if could fall out of the ceiling at any time! All of this was told to the front desk and they assigned us another room (which was acceptable). Ironically, my husband spoke with a guest in the elevator who had experienced A/C problems as well on another floor and he and his family were moved. The most interesting and yet scariest part of the whole experience was when my 16 yr old returned to the hotel later in the evening, he accidently went to the first room they had checked into and it was already occupied by other guests!!! Thank goodness my son walked in on someone ONLY watching TV! The hotel had not "re-keyed" the card to the first room! Can you imagine the surprise? What a safety faux-pas! AND...even if the A/C had been fixed, it must have been done so in a time period of less than 3 hrs! So....from the time my husband had complained to the front desk at apprx 6pm and our room number was changed, the first room was "cleaned" again and the A/C had been fixed??? I find that highly unlikely.....For the guests who were interrupted by my son's surprise entrance, he was obviously embarrassed and I apologize on his behalf. I hope that you slept in a bed with clean linens because he collapsed into the bed on our arrival and took a short nap after a long and sweaty day at Animal Kingdom! The only real plus was the showers were wonderful though the lighting in the bathroom was rather dark and dreary. Needless to say, I won't be a repeat guest in the future and do not recommend this hotel no matter how good the deal appears to be.

Very nice and clean hotel. Great pool and price. Wonderful place to stay.

Room was very clean and nice. Workers from diner located inside the hotel were outside at closing smoking and cursing in front of patrons. Really turned me off. I would not stay again. Also, security is poor. We had coupons for local pizza places shoved under our door.

The room and hotel were perfect and the location couldn't be any more desirable. We walked to Downtown Disney; it was only 2 blocks away! We stayed on the first floor across the entrance to the pool. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The only thing I would recommend is that the hotel needs to improve its air conditioning system. It worked, but for the hot summer nights, the air needed to be colder.

Elevators wobbled, housekeeping was so-so, good for the price, not great

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Plaza for our honeymoon, all the staff members were very polite, helpful and professional. The room (which they upgraded) was very clean and beds were really comfortable. The roomservice was quick, and food was excellent. It's defintely worth the price, we'd love to stay again.

This is an excellent hotel in a great location, the staff are extremely helpful and courteous, and it is well worth paying extra for the king suites, great view of the fireworks a few miles away at DisneyWorld. Definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was beautiful. I was definintely surprised with the bathroom. It had a beautiful corner tub and shower. The bedding was very comfortable and the room was immaculant. I would defintely recommend and use this hotel again.

I was excited about trying the Royal Plaza based on the reviews I read. There are some high points to the stay though. First, the rooms really are very well sized. The beds were nice and comfortable. The bathroom and the garden tub were great after a day at the parks. The down side for me came with the service. When we arrived the bellman, was way too casual and not at all prompt to see what we needed, just kind of waived us towards the front desk. We did arrive about 2:30 and they refused to let us pre-check-in (because no room was ready), we even asked if we could just call back later for a room number. This is the only hotel that I know of in the area that made us come back at 4:00. Even if a room was not ready, let us just check-in. I was quite shocked. Bellservices were totally under staffed, only one guy was working, I felt bad for him. The pool and hot tub seemed rather small for this size resort. I did not find the staff to be overly helpful. They are supposed to be a 'good neighbor' hotel to Disney World and I don't feel that they had any kind of Disney magic going for them. I would stay again, if all my other options were booked.
