Regal Sun Resort-Downtown Disney - Orlandas

The good things were they were that they were so close to Downtown Disney, The pool was great, the desk that arranges transportation was excellent. The Guest Services were friendly and knew lots about the parks etc. The down side however was that it seemed like they were too busy trying to arrange trips to there parent company Wyhndam Resorts that it got in the way of getting information from them. Everytime I went up to that desk they asked me if I had gone yet. I did end up going. Ruined a whole day of my vacation sitting there getting high pressured to buy a time share. Only some of the rooms are finished renovations so if you are booking you should try and book the upgraded rooms.

The room was to small. The view was horrid. Only had view of rooftops.

This was my first time visiting the orlando area with the family. I did a bunch of research as to which hotel i was going to stay. The Regal Sun was nice, comfortable and easy acces to everything. The pool was amazing for both kids and adults. Staff was friendly and helpful. About a 5 minute walk to downtown disney then you can just take the water taxi to the other side of downtown. Dining options were alright. The room itself was ok, i mean we were barely there so i have not much to say. I would deft recommend this hotel. I just wished they had more disney characters in their breakfast.

We were treated well and had a good visit. The Hotel is located across the street from Downtown Disney which was awesome.

Greast location, surprised by price we paid--Hotel maid came early for check-out clean, I said we were still cleaning and said we would be out by the check out time of 11 AM. SHe said take your time, she'd come back. We had a chance to use the facilities longer-great pool area & kids liked the basketball court.

The actual room itself was not clean. The bathroom sink and shower look as if they are wiped down and not scrubbed or disinfected. One of the pillows had a blood stain. Mildew in the cracks of the bathroom.

Great Value, Close to Disney Parks, Shuttle to the Parks, Great Information to the local area and very friendly staff.

$17 for 2 coffees and a chocolate milk and muffin was a bit much. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

Although this hotel has been renovated, I was disappointment in the amount of corners that were cut. The rooms were repainted, re-carpeted, new furniture and new linens were placed on the bed. The old doors and mirrored closet doors remained. The bathroom had old tile with paint and mold along with old shower tile that did not match the décor of the room. The cleanliness of the bathroom was subpar. There are also interior and exterior entrances for this hotel, which is not clearly mentioned on the web. The main reason we visited this hotel was because of their water park. It is more suitable for older children. The water pressure that comes out of the system is somewhat painful and not suitable for small, young children. We arrived at the pool around 9:30am and the water system was not on nor did they have towels available to use at the pool. Once the staff member arrived, the towels were in a bin and not folded. They were old and dingy looking. Overall, the hotel was inexpensive and disappointing. The price point was right, but for a few extra dollars you could have gotten a much nicer stay in the area.

We checked in around 11:30p.m. and were told they did not have the room we reserved because they "overbooked." Our first night we had one bed and a roll away bed, which was a disaster. It took them 45 min. to bring roll away bed to room. Did give us the correct room the following day, but the re-packing was a hastle. Would recommend staying in main tower. Pool was beautiful and very spacious. Lobby area nice. Character breakfast disappointing (only Pluto and Goofy). Breakfast way over priced. Not many restaurants w/in walking distance. Taxi service $9 per mile!!

I read the other reviews which were acurate and very helpful so I couldn't wait for my turn to rate this hotel. If you're like me and don't find timshares and cooking to be a vacation then this is the place for you. Great play area in the lobby for the little one to teens(wii, books, toys and flatscreen. Having one child it helps when there is an area for her to play and get to meet other children from around the world. It was also good for giving me a few momments of mommy time. I also enjoyed the fact that there is a Fun Advisor that provides sidewalk chalk, jump rumps, hoola hops and games at the shuttle bus stop which helped to keep the kids occupied while we waited for he Disney shuttle. The hotel is walking distance to Downtown Disney and the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. My thanks to everyone for their service and help. We will be return customers!

The Regal is a conveniently located (just across Downtown Disney, although quite a walk-15 minutes at a good clip- to Cirque du Soleil) at a good price hotel, the front desk was courteous and fast at check-in and check-out (I don't know if the hotel had automatic check out, but it only took me a minute to check-out in person), the lobby and rooms looked nice, and if there is a semi-negative, it is that as other reviewers have stated, the doors from adjacent rooms do make quite a bit of noice when they are closed (the doors are "heavy", meaning that they close with some strength), nevertheless nothing too bad. If you want a good hotel at a good price, and you aren't too particular about having the "perfect" stay, this hotel is quite nice; also, as other reviewers have stated, avoid the valet parking (extra fees) when checking in, there are parking spaces all over the hotel very conveniently located close to any room that you chose, and bring snacks or buy them at a supermarket, the hotel convenience stores are quite expensive, and you won't get much in terms of nutrition. I will probably stay here next visit if the price is similar to what I paid.

Everything was excellent. Room was very clean, service was great, had 2 wonderful pools. Everyone there was very, very nice. The location was great, right next to Down Town Disney, and was very easy to walk there. I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Excellent location it's right across from Downtown Disney. The hotel pool is really nice for couples and families. Considering that it's not a Disney hotel it had the feel of disney.

Nice, comfortable, clean hotel in great location to Disney Downtown; however, service could have been better. There were not enough front desk clerks on duty at either check-in or check-out, plus room keys did not work due to a computer problem. When we pulled up front to register, the valet asked for our car key in case car had to be moved. Once we stood in line a long time to check-in, our car had been moved and then the valet became a "salesman" for their service. We later found out that price on our room bill for this service was higher than quoted by valet. Also, the continental breakfast which we understood was to be included was only free for children. As nice as this hotel was, we would recommend "buyer beware" on the extra charges!

This was definitely a 3.5 star hotel very conveniently located. However, it had its problems: not enough front desk clerks to handle customers, especially since the room keys were not working because of computer problems. We were approached by car valet to get our car key while we waited to check in. After a long wait checking in, we found our car moved and valet became a "salesman" to pay additional fee for valet service. When we checked out the next day, we learned that fee was more than valet quoted. Also, we were told that a continental breakfast was included; however, it was only children who ate free. Nice hotel, but beware the extra charges!!!

Although the location was great, the quality of the hotel was quite poor. The room temp/AC was not working properly, and you could hear noise from the outside which was difficult when you are trying to go to sleep. Additonally, the bathroom tub was clogged and when we wanted to have an express check out, it did not work from the room TV!

I was very disappointed when I saw the room. It does not look like the one in the picture. I had called the hotel before arriving and they told me about a huge renovation they did to the hotel, but the tub was old, the carpet had a smell, and some metal in the room was rusted. I would not go back to that hotel. The location was amazing!!

About 100 yards from Downtown Disney and Market place. Great for shopping and nightclubbing. Totally great price, even during the "season" i.e. kids on vacation. Highly recommend.

Active Duty Military. Stayed two nights. Overall room was ok for the discounted price but there are better hotels in the area for cheaper. If you don't stay in the tower (which are more expensive) the other rooms are ok but in a older part of the hotel. The pool was nice for the kids but beware the resort fee. Valet parking is $12 for unlimited use or $7 for just one day. Walking distance to downtown Disney. Over all not that bad.

A few draw backs with this hotel. 1. Outside wasn't clean. 2. Parking. 3. Elevator Location. 4. The beds in a standard room were only 2 doubles and weren't comfortable. Other than that. The room was very clean and didn't stink like a dirty old sock. We had our own fridge which helped out. I would stay here again but with 2 young kids I'm going to spend the extra money on a kids suite....even if it's only for ONE night!

The hotel was nice! The kids play area at the pool and inside the hotel was really great for my 4 year old son. The area was full with great places to eat at a low price. The knock was that I thought that the room was a little small, but other then that, it was a great stay.

Pool area was perfect for our children, and the hotel was directly across the street from Downtown Disney. Very nice and affordable!

It was an amazing resort. Rooms were spectacular and hotel staff exceeded our expectations.

First family vacation! Could not have done a better job picking this one. Great facility, Pool out of this world, Just like the pictures on line. Staff was very easy to deal with. Super trip!

room was ok, no bad, but nothing fancy. Pool was awesome! great place for kids. main issue was the only elevator close to our room was a service elevator we couldn't use, so we lugged all our stuff up 4 flights of stairs :( I'd recommend it to others though

My room was very clean, but small. The rooms on the higher floors seem to be much nicer. The lobby is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.

food was easy to find without even leaving the hotel. you can order for delivery anyways. my only requirement for a hotel is it has to be clean and safe. this one sure was safe. clean? not very. but acceptable. our room didnt have a funny smell. sheets were clean enough - could be better. here comes the but... taxi service at the lobby was kinda shady. we arranged for one to take us to the airport the next day. the attendant booked us for a 10am taxi at $45. the next day, another attendant insisted it was $55. then when we got to the airport, it was $58. be careful. make them write it down so you can show it to whoever takes you to the airport. make sure the rate at the desk matches whatever you pay at the airport.

This hotel/room exceeded my expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and very nice! Within walking distance of Downtown Disney. Lounge area is also very nice, with a full bar and a snack bar for all your late-night needs.

I read all the input from other readers and was very hesitant about choosing this hotel, but the location was right and so was the price. Guest services was very helpful during our stay and the room was nice and cool in the hot Florida weather. Would stay here again.

Hotel not laid out well. Difficult to find yoiur way around. There are much better hotels in the area.

rooms were very clean. loved the pool and kids water area. I had my grandkids with me and they loved it. Hotel was a short walk to downtown Disney which was great. will go back.

A great hotel for a conference at a great price. The pool were great, and the rooms were very nice in the tower.

The main draw of the Regal Sun Resort is that it is a 5 minute walk to Downtown Disney. The staff was courteous and service was prompt. However, the rooms were mediocre at best with weak wifi and rough comforters. The hotel's restaurant leaves much to desired in terms of quality and selection. Skip the character buffet as the Disney parks offer their own at a lower price.

I stayed here recently, and to my extreme disappointment, this place could be easily compared to spending the night in a dump.(except for the rooms, they were quite small but they were clean). parking was ridiculous(dont bother leaving the hotel to go out for dinner because it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to find a spot in their parking lot). next there was the hidden fees. they hit us with a $23.98 charge for "tax recovery charges and service fees". The overall condition of the hotel was lacking. oh yes, there was also the fact that the ice machine was malfunctioning, and the remote for the tv. was broken.

Easy check in, comfortable room, awesome amenities. Was a little put off by 25 dollar resort fees and getting stuck at hollywood studious (no return bus to be found) but the pros outweighed the cons. Location is ideal, walking distance to downtown disney, buses to all the parks, great pool and the friendliest staff. We will be back for sure! A+

This is not a disney property as they advertise. And it is not inside of any of the Theme parks. This is wyndham property..They should advertise that instead. For the price and the location i dont prefer this anymore.

The deplorable condition of the mens room adjacent to their restaurant was the only reason I could not give all good grades. Every other aspect of the hotel either met or exceeded my expectations.

I was greatly impressed from the moment I stepped out of my car. I was greated by a valet that held my keys while I registed and unloaded the bags from my car. Then at the desk checking in I was given the wrong room and it was immediately corrected with a room in the same category, but a much nicer location. The bell hop assisted me to my room and told me to take my time, my car would be just fine. The beds were awesome! We did not want to get out of them the next morning. The sheets were soft and not at all scratchy. I was very impressed with the pool area and loved the location, directly across the street from Disney's Marketplace. As someone that had only stayed at Disney owned properties, I will have to come back to the Regal Sun Resort again!
