Normandy Hotel - Paryžius

We stayed at the Normandy for 3 days. Nice, clean room, friendly, helpful staff. Louvre and lots of good restaurants within walking distance. One could walk to the Eifel Tower and the Arch of Triumph if you can handle a walk of 2 or 3 miles.

Read several of the hotel.com reviews. They were accurate. Clean, great location, and helpful staff. Small elevator. My experience exactly. I would stay there again.

do never take a single room, it is what they call "chambre de bonne" or maid's room dirty and stincky far far away from deserving 4 stars ... I would give NONE or negative stars! No shower curtain so you get a swimming pool every time you shower, dirty bath tube you wouldn't dare taking a bath, no mirror except the high small one in the bath room, electric plugs in the bathroom did not work so impossible to dry your hair in front of the mirror. No free wifi reception except all the down the hall downstairs where your phone would not work because no reception, so either you call either you surf, not both! and the best: elevator keeps failing and I had to stay in there for 30 minutes! amazing right?! I would never go back there even if you pay me!

The room which we got was neglected (608). A coat of paint would have improved it a lot. Simple things missing like glasses for water. Apart from location I wouldn't recommend this place.

The location is great, which is why we booked there despite previous negative comments. The hotel is a tad run down, and could use a renovation (floors uneven, wood chipped in places), but it was rustic. Our room (223) had a staircase up to the bathroom, which was cute, and an oddly shaped tub that was fun for the few days we were there. I can't comment on the service since we hardly needed anything from the hotel, but I'd say given the location, the price was probably fair.

great location one block from the luve. Resturants in the area were very good. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable. would recommend to anyone.

The room was very outdated & dirty. The carpet & bed linens can only be described as disgusting. The location is great & the hotel has good bones…it should be gutted & re-done. The hotel staff entered the room even while the “Do Not Disturb Sign” was on the door. There was one concierge who was pleasant & helpful, the rest of the staff just seemed ambivalent. I would never ever stay at the hotel again.

The hotel needed complete renovation. I didn't feel secure there at all. There was peeling wall paper on the walls, dirty carpet & stained linen. The two men who worked the front desk at night were completely rude & unhelpful. I wouldn't put my worst enemy in this hotel.

This hotel is very close to all the museums and is historically interesting. Just understand there is no airconditioning and no shower, although the bathroom was spacous considering other Paris hotels I have used. The room was very clean and, the price was reasonable for what you get.

Our room condition was horrible. Antique furniture is fine, but soiled, worn out carpet, cracked and stained vanity, etc. is not. There are certainly better options with the same great location relative to the Louvre. Look elsewhere before booking. I think some of the rooms have been remodeled and are probably great. None of the triple rooms have been remodeled per the hotel.

The Normandy Hotel enjoys an excellent location, being close to the Louvre and Seine. However the hotel is becoming very tired. I build hotels for a living and i would say that the Normandy is about 5 years overdue for a refurbishment. The room, although clean was very shabby, with damaged wallpaper, stained carpets, mismatched sanitaryware and broken tiles in the (1970's style) bathroom, and generally very tired. For the money, not the best place to stay i'm afraid.

What the hotel lacks in amenities, it makes up for in location. It is a place to stay if you are more interested in checking out the sites and using your hotel as just a place to sleep.

First, this is not a four star hotel - probably three stars would be more accurate. It's very old and the furnishings were adequate but not four star. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom - just old. Staff was very friendly and eager to please. The best about this hotel is that it is a half a block from the Louvre. Would I stay there again? Yes. The price was reasonable for what we were given - we were in the room to sleep and shower, not to spend any length of time.

This hotel was the worst. It is rated as a four start hotel, in the U.S., it would not be a 2 star hotel, at best. The celing was cracked and peeling, the halls were creeky and the walls, paper thin. From inside your room, you could hear every door shut, every person walking down the hall, etc. For the money, it was ridiculous. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. It is a great location, but the price should be cut in half, at a minimum

While the Normandy has a great location, it was not at all a four star hotel in my opinion. Perhaps O.K. if only staying a night or two, but not somewhere you would want to stay longer.

Overall the Normandy Hotel was at best average. Spacious room, much larger than I expected, but it hasn't been maintained since 1970. Shower door almost falling off, cracks and stains all over the bathroom. Has LCD TV, that is only thing replaced in last 20 years. Service poor. Menu for room service had been "changed" but not in the room. Menu for breakfast provided and instruction noted to complete and place on door prior to 5am. This was done, and no breakfast provided. When asked, was told you had to call room service. They did have wakeup call and provided taxi on time. Won't use them again.

This has to be the best hotel i've stayed in Paris yet. I was a bit frustrated at first 'cuz they lost my reservation and ended up with 2 single rooms instead of one double room. But they fixed everything the following day with a great room. The Staff are a great HELP...very knowledgeable of the city as well. Thanks!

No A/C, very small room.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The elevator was small,and we only used it to transport luggage with one person inside. Ask for a room on a low level because you will need to utilize the staircase. Poor location for someone with any walking or climbing stairs difficulties. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom tile needed a good scrubbing. The air conditioner worked well. This was a good central location for seeing sights. It was only about a 10 minute walk to the Louvre. It was a good hour-long walkto the Eiffel Tower. If you are looking for a comfortable European hotel, this is a nice place. If you are looking for an American hotel, don't stay here. By American standards, I wouldn't call this a four-star hotel. I would call it a comfortable three-star European hotel with a great location.

The front desk and the concierge staff were excellent. The cleaning staff doesn't get the rooms ready for check-in until late in the afternoon, which frustrates (to no end!) The front desk and concierge. The rooms are good size, but the beds are small and very uncomfortable. Our bathroom, although it looked clean, had a hint of public restroom odor about it.

Positività rilevate:ubicazione ottima, stanza con due finestre grandezza adeguata per tre persona.Negatività : La colazione nonostante i dodici euro a persona non è soddisfacente...i croissant contati uno a testa; la stanza grande ma assolatissima;il condizionatore funzionava a tratti quindi non eravamo noi a decidere la temperatura; il bagno è veramente old time : lavandini e vasca pesantemente scrostrati, , senza finestra e l'areatore non funzionava.Anche se al V piano dalle cinque di mattina la stanza è rumorosa dato che con il caldo dovuto al condizionatore fuori uso dovevamo tenere le finestre aperte

Super hotel, god morgenmad, god beliggendhed

Il y a problème de stationnement. Le meuble des chambres est trés vieille. L'ascenseur trés étroit.

Hotellet er gammelt og ærverdig, men trenger opp-pussing. Vi fikk kjempe-service da vi kom sent på kvelden. Mannen i respesjonen parkerte bilen for oss. Dette var absolutt ikke noe som var vanlig ifølge personalet da vi sjekket ut. De var sure! - dessverre. Dette gir et dårlig sisteinntrykk av Paris, noe jeg har lest i flere anmeldelser av hotellet.

Dette var et veldig bra hotell. Hotellet er stort, har egen bar og frokost service. 24 timer service i resepsjon. Veldig bra. Stort rom fikk vi. Dette hotellet ligger rett vedsiden av Louvre altså midt i Paris.

Très bien placé, grande chambre, service laissant à désirer, aucune information dans les chambres pour utiliser le téléphone, la TV par exemple. Pas de carte de room service, pas de carte pour commander le petit déjeuner, il faut demander.

Gammalt, flagande färg i taket och i badrummet. Stenhård säng.

1ère tentaive, je me retrouve dans la chambre 118, fenêtre qui ne ferme pas et pas de rideaux ni volet pour un rez-sur-cour !!! On rêve, ni intimité ni obscurité!!! Evidemment le WIFI ne passe pas. Accueillant de l'extérieur, l'hotel mérite un grand rafraîchissement, tout est vieux ( peintures qui craquêlent, suie, gaines diverses ouvertes). Une honte pour les touristes... Finalement j'obtiens assez facilement une autre chambre. Vieillotte aussi mais comme la première très spacieuse pour Paris. Coté positifs : taille des chambre, emplacement Cotés négatifs : vraiment vieilli et coté propreté... Pas une belle image de la capitale.

Hotel centrale, nel vero cuore della citta. Hall stile liberty, molto affascinante ma con pochissimo spazio per gli ospiti. Camere piccole (ho pagato per una doppia ma forse mi anno rifilato una singola) e con accesso difficile (la mia camera si apriva su di una scala a scendere) Bagni vecchi, scomodi con sanitari ed accessori veramente "usati". Pulito.

Der grosse Vorteil des Hotels lliegt in seiner Lage - nur einige schritte vom Louvre entfernt und nicht weiter als 5 Minuten von der nächsten Metro Station. Es ist ein relativ altes aber sauber geführtes Hotel. Die Freundlichkeit des Receptionspersonals dürfte allerdings besser sein.
