For the money I expected better. The room was dreadful. The en-suite was tiny, the wash hand bowl was a tiny triangular affair in the corner which you had to reach to over the toilet. The bed whilst comfortable was small.

Hotel reception is excellent, the room was small but adequate and very different in terms of finishing compared to the glitzy reception area. However, the biggest concern is that the hotel is some distance from Barbican, and a good 10 minutes walk to nearest tube station through an area that is below par. Was offered an upgrade (at my cost!)

Entrance to the hotel very impressive and the foyer was very stylish. Very limited amount of parking spaces, when we arrived there were none available until later in the evening and this would also incur an extra charge. Left car on a side road but were told to keep an eye on it as not a particularly safe area (I hasten to add, we did not have any problems). Staff were extremely helpful during the whole stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately road outside was quite noisy during the night, not traffic but people shouting etc, may well have just been a one-off! Breakfast looked lovely and very good selection but most of the cooked items were just warm. When we asked if there would be any hot food coming out we were told that the chef would be sending some out soon but this did not materialise. Hotel staff looked after our bags for us so we could spend the day at a local festival before we left to come back which was much appreciated.

My room was in the sidebuilding - quality and comfort was not to the standard one should expect based on the price.

Overall the hotel was ok - I had dinner at the hotel on the Sunday night and the menu was limited and over-priced. The actual food was distinctly average and perhaps this was to be expected as the restaurant was so quiet chef was on their night off! Location was fine for me as i was visiting offices near the Bank of England and i like to be able to walk so need to be within 30 minutes of the place. I like quiet and the location was that although the hotel was busy i didnt hear much noise during the nights. The hotel's spa and gym seemed ok if a bit small. I popped down for a sauna on the monday about 7pm and it was very busy - not my bag tbh as it was cramped. The hotel is functional - i was working for the four days and most of the nights and it allowed me to do this satisfactorily! I do wonder how hotels can carry on charging for internet access? my 3G dongle worked great.

The location is good, 12-15 minutes walk to two subway stations - Old Town or Barbican. It is in a quite neighbourhood, and there are grocery stores, pharmacy, resturants and bank all within 10 minutes walk. The room is small and no air conditioner. This is typical in London for its price range. It is clean and everything is working in order, so no issue for me. Internet access is not free.

Noisy rooms but good facilities and access to gym, sauna, pool. Close to Northern Line.

The hotel is nice only that the distance from the train station is quiet far. hopefully you will provide a shuttle to your customer.

We were allocated a twin room on the 6th (top floor). The room was small and a chair almost blocked the door as soon as we opened it. Inside, a tv almost blocked the entrance to the bathroom, which wasn't convenient. As we didn't intend to be in the hotel much during the day, we could live with this. London is hot in the summer and the room was no exception. However, there was no air conditioning. Instead we had a tall standalone fan that leaned to one side and was very noisy - it's also not much use when it blows hot air around the room. The shower wasn't good at all. It run from mixer taps and we had a few incidents where we were nearly scalded trying to work it to get the temperature just right. No extraction in the bathroom either. I'm not usually fussy when it comes to hotels but the above are usually standard in hotels these days and are ESSENTIAL for summer stays - especially in the big smoke. So if you're looking for a twin room in a 4 star hotel in summer, I'd say give this one a miss. The room certainly wasn't 4 star.

I would suggest that those booking their hotel stay here actually ask for the specification of their room, as mine was not as advertised. The service was terrible and most of the staff do not have a grasp of the English language. In summary - never again.

We really enjoyed this hotel. The entrance lobby is very impressive and we were checked in quickly and efficiently. The room, on the 4th floor, was large, clean and had comfortable beds, good sized bathroom, loads of tea and coffee, good selection of toiletries. It faced into an inner courtyard, which was light and quiet. We enjoyed the room tremendously.

It may not have the best room in the whole UK but it's a good place to stay if you're on vacation. It's not too far from the Barbican Underground line, only a 30 min walk to the British Museum and with some bars in the local area. The hotel has a nice gym and pool, staff was very friendly and helpful.

staff in general very good waiting staff have no idea what the word smile means but over all the hotel is very nice rooms are clean and tidy but also very very small but if booking dont include breakfast service quality of breakfast very poor tables dirty and hot buffet poor burnt and almost empty with chefs standing behind buffet who will not replenish anything even if asked

Overall, the room was shabbier than expected. The bathroom fixtures did not work and required calls to maintenance. Heat was not working in the room. The staff eventually brought me a space heater and extra blankets. Would not recommend this hotel and will not stay there again.

This is a very good hotel but the location of it is not as good. I was walking from Tube station to it and it looked like some kind of gettor

I had never been to the Thistle Hotel before but was extremely impressed with the way I was both swiftly dealt with at the reception desk and forwarded to my room. The room itself was very comfortable and room service prompt and extremely friendly and helpful. My only problem was the television which I couldn't gain the movie channel - however even this was dealt with in a quick and personal manner by staff, and although I didn't use the facility in the end, had I stayed longer, I am sure it would have been no problem. The food I had was excellent, came hot and well prepared with all the condiments I needed. Had I also stayed longer, I would have checked out the leisure facilities, but if I visit again I will definitely partake! Because this is well placed in London I would recommend it as a pleasant place to stay both for business and pleasure

Excellent value. A little off the beaten path, but easy walk to three different tube stations. Much higher quality rooms than many of the privately owned hotels around Earl's Court or Bayswater. Close to both historic and hip upcoming areas. Can experience a little of local London from here.

Til en enkelt overnatning er hotellet helt fint. Virker slidt og personalet ungt og uerfarent. Alle var dog høflige og hjælpsomme.

Ingenting å utsette på selve hotellet eller servicen, men kommer nok ikke til å reise tilbake da det ligger nok så langt unna nærmeste undergrunnstasjon. 15 minutt med rask gange fra Old Street.

Hotellet er billigt i forhold til hvad der er med i prisen: værelserne er rumlige og er ganske pæne, der er swimmingpool, spa, sauna og dampbad - godt nok er det ikke stort, men super lækkert at kunne ta en dukkert inden dagen rigtig skal i gang (åbner kl. 6). Synes priserne i deres restaurant er alt for høje og udvalget er begrænset og forfinet! Beliggenheden er ikke den bedste, underground er 5-10 min. gang derfra.

le service est trés limite car le personnel ne parle pas bien l'anglais d'ou probleme de communication.Ils ont débité a "holding deposit" de 100£ alors qu'on m'avait fait croire le contraire etquand j'ai demandé un reçu de la transaction ils m'ont dit que ce n'était pas nécessaire car la somme ne serait pas débité maisjuste retenue. J'attend toujours le remboursement.

Hotellet består av två delar. En ny del och en gammal. Först fick vi ett rum i den gamla delen och det var inte bra. Ofräsht och slitet. Vi fick dock, kostnadsfritt, byta till den nya delen och där var det klart bättre.

Et helt greit hotell som egentlig overgikk våre forventninger når en tenker på den generelle dårlige kvaliteten på hotell i England i forhold til stjerner.

God beliggenhed, men værelset levede ikke op til standarden for resten af hotellet

Det är lite för långt att gå till buss/tunelbana. Kylskåpet finns men avstängt. Heltäckningsmatta men övrigt perfekt.

Specielt stod servicen frem som noget helt specielt. ALLE ansatte var utrolig imødekommende og enormt servicemindede, og gik lange længder for at gøre én tilpas. Billigt hotel med lækre værelser, gratis spa, motionscenter, sauna vidst osse massage til et mindre beløb. Alt i alt over ALT forventning taget den billige pris i betragtning.

War skeptisch gewesen, da ich mein Zimmer sehr preisguenstig bekam. Dann war ich absolut ueberrascht, dass diese eine gute Adresse ist, die ich gerne nochmal besuchen moechte. Sehr freundliches Personal, sauberes Zimmer, ein schoener Wellness-Bereich. Was will man mehr.

Receptie/ontvangst/bediening goed. Kwaliteit van deze kamer matig, betere kamers in dit hotel gehad.

Mycket ogästvänlig manager som vägrade låta oss ha ett affärsmöte i foajén, utan krävde att vi skulle betala dyra pengar för att hyra ett konferensrum, alternativt att vi skulle ha mötet på det pyttelilla rummet. Dubbelrummet som enligt beskrivning skulle bestå av två enkelsängar bestod av en dubbelsäng med endast ett täcke, men extratäcke bars upp av städpersonal vid förfrågan. Övrig personal mycket trevlig och hjälpsam, tyvärr var man tvungen att deala med managern. Hotellet ligger en bra bit från tunnelbanan, rekommenderas inte för den late.

Ouderwets water kran met twee kranen voor koud en warm water. Vast douch kran, erg onpraktisch. De delektronische deur slot werk vaker niet. De kamer is zeer klein.

Etwas längere Wartezeit beim Ein- und Auschecken. Alles andere war perfekt.

Sanitärbereich war nicht okay Dusche defekt. allgemeiner EIndruck nicht gut. Preis Leistung miserabel.
