Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites at Universal Studios Main Gate - Orlandas

THE HOTEL STAFF WERE GREAT. THE A/C DID SHORT OUT BUT THE STAFF WERE RIGHT ON IT AND HAD A NEW ROOM READY IN NO TIME FLAT. GAVE ME A UPGRADED ROOM AND NO FUSS ABOUT IT. OVERALL WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. WILL STAY THERE AGAIN.

The toilet was not flushing

This showers and sinks did not darn water. Your shower was a standing bath. The halls and rooms smelt like stinky feet and chocolate. Green mold like stuff on the bathroom fixtures. Did not provide enough towels or blankets. Stayed in this Hotel in 2003, loved it then. Had a very nice continental breakfast, not anymore! Definitely NOT worth the money we paid. May have been in walking distance of Universal, but had to cross LARGE highway/road to get there.

caulking needs to be re done. needs to be up to date. problems with ac, the ceiling had a leak.

The hotel definitely needs improvements! Smells like stinky feet and chocolate. Is convenient to Universal, but would have stayed somewhere else for the same price. Would not recommend this hotel unless the do a total remodel!

We liked the hotel. The staff were courteous and very friendly. the hotel could use some updates - new wall/floor coverings.

Great location for the price. Close to all the attractions. The room was clean but outdated. I stayed for 2 days and 1 night and didn't get turndown service.

our room as well as my sisters was dirty. this situation was reviewed and descused by hotel personal. their HR and location was the only upside to the hotel and the fact that they were very friendly and determend to esure our satisfaction of the solution to the problem.

The price of the room and the location to Universal was great. They could have updated the menu for the restuarant (TGIF), but food was good. Overall, the stay was pleasant with a comfortable enviroment through staff and surrounding neighborhood.

Hotel is very close to Universal, but if you are expecting anything else you will be disappointed. Staff is ok, but rooms are very old and in poor condition.

This place is directly across the street from Universal Studios- YOU WALK THERE!!! The only other hotels you can do that at are four times the price. Hotel is a bit older, but cleanliness and friendliness are plenty high there.

The hotel rooms bathrooms need some work, but other than that it was about what i expected. The only thing is they say they complimentary shuttle service to all the parks, what they don't say is it only runs 2 times a day. The hotel is across the street from universal, a big 4 lane intersection street. but the cab ride was only $3.50 at the time of our stay, so that wasn't so bad. I would stay there again.

This is an average hotel. But, one thing really stood out. We checked out of the hotel at 4:30 am. We somehow forgot our laptop as we were waiting for the cab. We left the laptop on the hotel bench right outside of the hotel. I am glad that this was so early in the morning, or I would have kissed my computer goodbye. Once we got to the airport, I noticed the computer missing. We immediately called the hotel and were pleasantly informed that the computer was found. What a relief. I really appreciate the honesty from the staff that morning.

Located across the street from the Universal Studios parking garage. The hotel is a bit older, but everything looks good and the room was comfortable.

The best thing about this hotel is it's location. it's 10mins walking distance to Universal Studios. That was the main reason we wanted to stay there. The hotel itself is very old. The first thing was the door to the room. It looked very beaten up and much like a cold prison door. Not welcoming at all. The the room was not much better, very very old. The bath tub was all rusted, old and just dirty looking. The sinks although not rusty were very old also. The hotel is in much need of renovation. The bed was comfortable but that's about the only postive thing about it. I would not recommend this hotel!!

Our experience was not a good one. Our door handle was broken, there were dead roaches in our room, the curtain was broken and we had a light right outside our window that pretty much kept our room illuminated the entire night. The room smelled bad and the customer service was below average. My husband and I asked for 2 glasses and after about 30 minutes, they brought dirty ones. Not a good stay at all.

We reserved a room with two double beds. When we checked in, we were given a suite: living room with pull out sofa bed, kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, nice dishes and a dishwasher, and a bedroom with two double beds. Much more than we were expecting for the money.

I went for my birthday and they upgraded me to a suite for the big day! It was such a great experience.

I arrived at this location Thursday 10/09/2008 afternoon. I was handled promptly by the concierge which was fine. When I got to my room I was very disappointed in what I saw. The bathroom was Filthy and the mirrors were not clean and physically damaged. The bathtub was in despair; the wall paper in the room was coming off. The room look liked it had not been taken care of. The bed was terribly uncomfortable. I am over all disappointed in my stay with this location and I do not believe I will be staying their again. A unsatisfied Customer.

This Hotel was wonderful. My wife and I showed up expecting a small room with nothing special about it, you know like one big open room, no fridge, and no room. But to our surprise there was a large T.V. Living area seperate from the bedroom room, a big fridge, dish washer, micro wave, big bathroom, and another huge room with a huge bed and another T.V. It was like an apartment with all the modern convienences.

The bright part of our stay was the check in counter worker. After that the stay went down hill. Mold in bathroom, main door handle broke off, bathtub had hair in it when we checked in, and the television was broken. The onsite TGI Friday's had poor service.

This Holiday Inn was worse than any other I have stayed at before. The rooms need to be renovated!!! Old carpet, old linens on the bed, old shower, etc. The location to Universal was great, but I was under the impression that it was withing walking distance as it advertizes as being within a few blocks. Our options were to walk 25 minutes across a major highway or drive there and pay $11 for parking. We drove. The price would have been reasonable for the location if the rooms had been nicer.

If you haven't got a car, this hotel is perfectly situated to walk to universal studios and provides a free shuttle to sea world and wet and wild.

I don't know what happened that our room didn't look like it was pictured, but in the future I will not be afraid to ask for another room or upgrade. We should have known when the lock on the entry door didn't work. We had to wait for maintenance to come to let us in. In the bathroom there was not latch on the bathroom door and the tub had a big mold stain from a leaking faucet. The Safe had no lock on it either. Let's just say for what we paid we should have moved!!
