Holiday Inn Chicago-Mart Plaza - Čikaga

Everything about the hotel is great. From the lobby, bar, restaurant to the staff, it was all very nice. I've stayed here before and I'll continue staying here. The lobby and restaurant are newly remodeled and they look great. We really like the bar with the view. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

nice hotel, a little pricey but location is easy to get to and convenient, nice breakfast buffet. the bed was very comfortable, the lighting in the bathroom could have been brighter

Great hotel with excellent location. Lots of restaurants close by. Train station in Merchandise Mart next door.

Facilities were nice and overnight parking was only $31 which is cheap for that area.

Our room was clean but located above a ballroom so we were entertained by traditional party/reception songs until midnight both nights we stayed. This was very disturbing when we wanted to relax after a long day in Chicago. We found the front desk service to be less than polite and rather rude. The price was pretty high and had to pay additional fees for parking after paying for the room ahead of time. This hotel is not willing to work with circumstances such as refunding a per person charge. We originally paid for 4 people and due to a death the 4th person could not make the trip. Front desk response "oh well" and no refund. The nice part of this hotel was the view. Beautiful view of the Chicago skyline. Next time in Chicago will not be spent at the Holiday Inn. I can see the view from the street for free.

I've only stayed at this hotel twice - once on my first visit to Chicago in 1990 and then again in May 2009. The hotel impressed me then and it even more impressed me now. For a Holiday Inn, it goes above and beyond. Its beautiful, offers amazing views of the city in all directions, is convenient to tourism and pubilc transportation, and its a quiet oasis away from the craziness of River North and Michigan Avenue. My ONLY complaint was the bathroom. I stayed in an ADA compliant room. While the bathroom was spacious, the sink seemed to be too close to the commode and I would hit my shoulder on the edge of the sink. Also, the shower was too narrow and water kept spilling out onto the bathroom floor. It could get quite messy. Otherwise, great hotel.

This hotel is under renovation. I can only hope it is better when done. Our air conditioning would not turn on and we could not get the temperature below 73 degrees. Mtce opened the window for us, but it didn't help much. Had to ask for housekeeping to clean our room; then had to call them back to give us supplies which they did not leave. Beds were horrible. Would not recommend.

The hotel is undergoing some renovations but that was never a problem during my stay. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Due to the renovation the front desk was a temporary set up. The room was your standard fair sized room with internet access. Price was great for a Chicago hotel. If you don't mind the renovation this is an excellent deal. If you are the finicky type do them a favor and stay away.

We were looking for a Hotel in Chicago, And we wanted something that was close to the City and the one we found was a great location and the room rates were pretty good. They have a nice big pool.I would stay there again and recommend that Hotel.I know they were doing constuction on it and Im sure it will look even better once the work is done.

The hotel was undergoing a renovation in the atrium so therefore was a bit cluttered and unorganized - although I'm sure it will prove to look great once it's finished. I did hear construction work early in the morning (pounding) that kept me from sleeping in. The front desk was less than thrilled when it came to my check-in. I asked for a high floor w/ a good view and the woman looked at me and said, "20 dollars." I guess that meant it was an extra twenty dollars to upgrade. The view from the bar/restaurant is amazing. The heat was apparently broken in the bar area so it felt very cold. The next day I had a lunch appointment it the bar/restaurant only to find out their ice maker was broken and they weren't serving any food (although it said open from 11am-11pm daily). I had to settle for the food court at the Merchandise Mart instead.

Had a great stay but no free shampoo in the shower so remember to bring your own. Great view from the room.

Some people were put off by the fact that the lobby is on the 15th floor of the building, but we thought that was kind've neat. I think I could have gotten a hotel closer to the Sears Tower and the shopping area for about the same price though. Only complaint is that the beds we very uncomfortable.

I was not satisfied what so ever with the service overall. When I first walked in I was not greeted with a hello I was greeted with a very rude clerk with set the overall tone to my weekend at the Holiday Inn Mart. This was my third trip to Chicago but my boyfriends first and I really wanted to make it memorable. It was but for the wrong reasons! When we first walked into the room the temperature was 78 degrees and we had to open the window. I will say that the housekeepers were wonderful and brought up the extra creamer for my coffee in the morning. Nothing but wonderful things to say about the housekeepers. As for the gals at the main registration desk, they need to learn better guest service and remember that they represent that hotel they are the first and the last thing that guests see so they may want to smile and learn to say please and thank you. I will never be back and never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everything was good about the hotel except that when I checked in they told me the only room they had left was a smoking room. I dont smoke. It smelled.

As best as I can tell, accessing the hotel requires walking through the Merch Mart, taking an elevator to the second floor, walking a skyway to a different building, riding an elevator to the 15th floor and walking to a different elevator bank in order to reach the guest rooms. It's a fine (as in "nothing special") hotel but it is close to the loop and that's really all that mattered for our trip. I only wish that there had been clearer signage that indicated how to access the hotel.

The Holiday Inn Mart Plaza is in a very nice location. Just by the river, in Downtown Chicago, in walking distance to Sears Towers. Also, it is very close to the Brown line train, which makes very easy to walk around downtown or to go to some other areas. The hotel has a good service, a good bar and restaurant, with a good breakfast. The room I stayed was very clean and nice.

If you want to experience the city this is the hotel to stay in. Is conveniently located in the city of Chicago and yet a bit distance from the buzz and huzzle of the city. I mean we walked from our hotel to all the major attractions in Chicago.

If you have reasons to have business at the Merchandise Mart, this hotel is connected by a breeze-way and you never have to go outside. Great when there's bad weather. Otherwise there are other places to consider. There are lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood as well in walking distance, so it's a place to consider.

The hotel doesn't actually start until the 15th floor, so im sure each room has a good view. Ours was gorgeous. We had a view of the whole city, including the sears tower. Also conventient was the indoor mini-mart right downstairs...cheap healthy breakfast everyday! Also, many attractions, were just 4-10 blocks away, an easy walk in the big city. Everyday we came back to a beautifully cleaned room.

Wonderful stay!! Buffet breakfast was pricey, but excellent!!! Location was perfect!! Any cab ride was basically $10. or under! Pool was great! Weight room is superb! Would definetely stay again!!
